Will have to go check that place out. Love finding new wildlife parks to go to. Don’t think I am going to get that close to the big gator though. I would hold the little one. But it is cool how they have him trained.

What a cool place. It is so cool to see you and Tim there. I liked how the guy said “No ones ever been wiggled to death before by an Alligator” lol That’s awesome they had the Jurassic Park sign. “Life finds a way” for sure. I may have to check this place out for myself the next time I’m in the area. I want to see this “Trapper”

Man, that Trapper's one big snapper! This episode takes me back to childhood vacations in Mississippi/Louisiana, where the swamp-water walkways at Leroy Percy State Park used to take u out over hordes of camouflaged gators just waitin' for somebody to get too close. All those eyes, watching, still & cold. They're such fascinating creatures.

There is much less danger from the gators here than the visitors assume. Alligators are not nearly as aggressive as crocodiles (especially the larger species, like Nile and Salt-Water Crocs). Gators generally will avoid humans in the wild. In captivity, the dynamic changes a bit, because the gators become conditioned to associate humans (at least their keepers) with being fed, so they will approach, albeit still not as aggressively as a good-sized croc would. (Compare the feeding videos of Trapper, SWWP's largest gator, with those of Salt-Water Crocs at other facilities). That's exactly why the Florida authorities stress not feeding wild alligators; they don't want the animals to associate humans with food.

That was utterly fascinating, and I didn't think it would be. I mean, we've all seen "alligator parks" before. But hearing Nathan talk about them was awesome. I was also kind of amused to see something with the big guy "Trapper" that I've observed in dogs and cats - it takes them several seconds to process what he says. The mammals are a bit faster at it, but considering we're looking at a creature that has remained fundamentally unchanged for tens of millions of years, it's pretty astonishing how smart a 'gator can be.
Once again, a great video Adam!!
