I saw that clip. William was nearby, and when the child asked who she was, she turned towards William and said I'm his wife. That little boy was 5 or 6 years old, and perfectly understood what she said and who she was. There was no need for her to teach him a history lesson or tell him words he would not understand. She gave the best answer.
Catherine's "job" is to be William's wife and, with him, raise the next generation of Royals. William will shoulder a lot of pressure when he ascends to the throne. Like The Queen and King Charles, his burden will be eased by a loving and supportive spouse. Like Prince Philip and Queen Camilla, Catherine will be admired for fulfilling that role.

That little boy was 5 or 6 years old, and perfectly understood what she said and who she was. There was no need for her to teach him a history lesson or tell him words he would not understand.
