    Just curious why you didn’t just put a screw or use a drill bit from the inside of the garage in between the trusses to get it right in between the trusses ? Takes like 2 mins to do it.

    Great channel! Would it work with brick and clay roof tiles? Cause the roof we have doesn't seem like the one you are working with in this video. Should we remove couple of tiles and install the vents? Or should we consider another option for the heat? Thank you! :)

    Those solar roof vents are useless. If you look at the amount of air. (CFMs) it moves, it is minimal. I always install a power venterlator fan that has the thermostat cutin.

    How about a video to explain why you cut the dog ears. its a 45 degree cut at the 2 corners of a shingle to allow water to channel/drain around roof jacks.

    If you're installing a vent into a new roof, is there anything additional you should do to prevent leaks? Ice and water shield around it, maybe? I'm reroofing my garage. There's no ventilation, so I'm thinking about adding some in the process.

    • @Average_Roofer
      @Average_Roofer  3 года назад +2

      You don’t need to do anything extra in our local area, but ice and water shield is beneficial to protecting you vents from future leaks and is recommended.

    I've seen roofers make a 45 degree cut at the bottom of the roofers hatchet handle as a hack to make the hatchet easier to use. Some also shorten the handle to like 9 or 10inches long.. Is there any validity to that ?? Have you ever tried it ??

    • @Average_Roofer
      @Average_Roofer  3 года назад

      Never heard of that personally, I guess for hand nailing daily it could help with weight and balancing of the hatchet.
