Just curious why you didn’t just put a screw or use a drill bit from the inside of the garage in between the trusses to get it right in between the trusses ? Takes like 2 mins to do it.
This was hard to watch why wouldn't you get a flat bar rip out 2 shingles carefully cut your whole, nail your vent cut your shingles as you put them back on
Don't like my comment do it right
Newb cut half way through the truss lol, I will educate you, look for sheeting nails or staples, you cut through at of the truss must suck for your landlord
love your videos! thank you for sharing
Great channel! Would it work with brick and clay roof tiles? Cause the roof we have doesn't seem like the one you are working with in this video. Should we remove couple of tiles and install the vents? Or should we consider another option for the heat? Thank you! :)
Those solar roof vents are useless. If you look at the amount of air. (CFMs) it moves, it is minimal. I always install a power venterlator fan that has the thermostat cutin.
could have installed it in between the rafters
Could have, but unfortunately I guessed at this one as it’s my own garage!
Perfectly Average job my friend >>>
How about a video to explain why you cut the dog ears. its a 45 degree cut at the 2 corners of a shingle to allow water to channel/drain around roof jacks.
Can you install a solar attic fan of your home has ridge vents?
gotta be a way to map out or stud find the trusses, first thing. yiiikes
So Minnesota is technically in Canada so when you in town lol !
Watching from the Cities, gonna put a ridge vent on my porch soon. Trying to learn as much as I can before I mess something up
@@Anakreo515 would you like a tutorial on how to add ridge vent on an existing roof?
What size of screws are recommended?
If you're installing a vent into a new roof, is there anything additional you should do to prevent leaks? Ice and water shield around it, maybe? I'm reroofing my garage. There's no ventilation, so I'm thinking about adding some in the process.
You don’t need to do anything extra in our local area, but ice and water shield is beneficial to protecting you vents from future leaks and is recommended.
what's hard board
Tongue and groove deck boards. Generally made out of hardwood planks
@@Average_Roofer doesnt look like TG, is that old school stuff? what would you do if you had to replace a board
who taught this guy 🥴
I've seen roofers make a 45 degree cut at the bottom of the roofers hatchet handle as a hack to make the hatchet easier to use. Some also shorten the handle to like 9 or 10inches long.. Is there any validity to that ?? Have you ever tried it ??
Never heard of that personally, I guess for hand nailing daily it could help with weight and balancing of the hatchet.
Nice 😎👍
Love how you just left the bent over nails in place. That is true ghetto quality work right there folks.
They aren’t hurting anything being there 😂
It would be nice to see more posts. Even if it's other shit in your life. I've learned that subscribers don't necessarily always follow certain subjects. It's often just the individual.
Anyway, have a good day brother!

Thanks man! Yeah I got content in the works. Doing a few videos outside of roofing.
I’m potentially going to do a weekly vlog to where I go out and do something once a week that I enjoy as a pastime.
How about exterior polyiso insulation on a roof next!
What hammer is that?
@primelinetools 14 oz shingling hatchet with Hickory handle.
