I'm just gonna confess that I had a hard time saying anything bad about sims 4. I loved the sims back in 2000 and the love kept growing. I really wanted to believe that it wasn't over. I really wanted to believe that kids today would still get to experience the absolute madness that was the sims. I was wrong, but after such a long time... it was really hard to let go.
Most of those are 10 years old or less. Most of them probably only picked up the game when it was free. @@Emily-ew4xs, first of all, you can turn off the in-game store thing in the Sims 3. I don't like that's it's on by default, but you can get rid of it in about 10 seconds. After that, you could easily forget the Sims 3 store even existed. Which was fine, because the items there were seen as extras that weren't really part of the actual game. Whereas Kits are treated like actual Packs, right up there with Stuff Packs. And if you're a completionist, who wants to own all of the PACKS (a type of player the company knows exists), well... And, people complained about the Sims 2 and Sims 3 stores too. So this whole, "If you accepted it in the other games," whataboutism thing doesn't really work because, no, it wasn't really accepted in the other games either. The Sims 3 store, especially, got bashed to hell and back. (The Sims 2 store doesn't get bashed as much because most people don't know it even existed.) So it's not like Sims 4 is being held to some hypocritically high standard for being so cash grabby. It's being called out the same way the other games got called out.

Even without it pulsating anymore (alegedly) it is intentionally positioned for accidental clicks and then to bring up a popup that tells you what you are ‘missing’ even if you don’t feel you are ‘missing’ anything by not having some of the packs. People told me I was missing out without seasons and I have never regreted a pack purchase more. People told me infants were better with growing together, finally caved and got growing together on sale and infants are now annoying. Basegame infants weren’t terrible. No, you don’t ‘need’ any pack beyond what works for your personal gameplay. Maybe 2 of the three packs that affect gardening make gardening just fine for you and the other stuff you don’t care about (like seasonal affects on plants).

The way they gatekeep the Sims 4 is mental. I know for a fact Pixelade feels the same, but he's trying not to get on EA's bad side and I can't blame him. Lazy Game Reviews stopped receiving early access to packs a few years ago because EA didn't like his opinion. It seems having an opinion about The Sims 4 makes you a "Nasty and Rude person".

I think it' insane people seem to be perfectly okay with buying broken packs and dlc. I'm tired of simmers reviewing the broken packs and saying things like- It has issues, but i think it's worth it if you wait for a sale. NO! When you buy the broken packs, you give EA the okay to continue to pump out broken, lackluster packs.. I refuse to continue to give them any more of my money. They never completely fix the broken dlc anyway. I also really think there's nothing they can do to win me back as a customer. The game is broken and boring. Sims 2 and 3 will ALWAYS be superior games.

I wish the sims 4 community would understand that it’s not about y’all loving the game but EA as a company charging y’all for features that should’ve been free or bundled into a new expansion for a better price. It actually got me thinking.. the whole Sims franchise feels like one big scam. Can you imagine if like, Grand Theft Auto 6, came without weather and you had to buy a separate expansion pack to get it? Why is The Sims the only franchise that gets to do that? EA makes the situation even worse with Sims 4 by exluding core elements that were in previous games, and selling them seperately in expensive packs. How on earth do people defend that? Is that the standard they want to set? And my biggest question of them all, do they poop out money?
Considering EA just basically added ads in the sims 4 (or at least that’s how I’m understanding it, I don’t keep up with her anymore), I’m inclined to agree with your use of exploitative and would like to add manipulative. Also 74 DLCs and counting is definitely not normal even for game that’s been out for ten years. How do I know this? Well one of my favorite games besides the sims 3 is Lord of the Rings Online and its 17th anniversary is coming up. How many paid expansions has it released in this time? The 11th one just came out last year. Sims 4 players just haven’t played other games.

Here's the thing, most Simmers do not play other games. They have no frame of reference for what is normal and acceptable, either in terms of business practices or in terms of how much *gameplay* a game should come with, or in terms of how readily and easily bugs can be ironed out. They think this is fine, and they resent being told they're being taken advantage of, because that would make them *naïve* and *gullible*, and they find that more insulting than EA taking advantage of them. Ignore the haters, you were RIGHT.
This is why I don’t mess with a vast majority of “simfluencers” or w/e the eff they’re calling themselves. The only ones I trust are the OG’s - LGR and Carl Sims guides. They don’t even really do sim reviews anymore because that’s how much they stand on what they say as far as the sims 4. There’s two type of simfluencers that I noticed. The ones that are all the way up EA’s azz, and the ones who front like they’re disappointed with the state of the game, but still keep buying the packs. Real 🤡 shit, imo.

74 DLC "might" be normal if they cost maybe $1-10 dollars a pack. If 74 DLC exist for other games its literally a 99¢ dlc for a new outfit or sum. These "expansion packs" are the cost of a full release game. I honestly thought TS4 was a dead game when people realized the absurd amount of DLC and glitchy gameplay. There truly is something unsettling about some of TS4 communities behavior, which is why I had to stop engaging with it online, even tho I used to play and sometimes enjoyed some packs. I admit I've even gotten hyped for some of the newer packs (was let down ofc, not surprised anymore so i've uninstalled TS4 for peace of mind for now lol) I love The Sims series as a whole, but never engaged with the community until the last couple of years and I eventually had to stop on twitter because I saw how bad it actually was there. I still consume some sims 4 update channels just to see how it's going incase i decide maybe i'll give it another chance, but at this point I don't want to bother. A lot of it just really leaves a bad taste in my mouth😥I will always love The Sims series though, as it was my first big kid™ computer game and it brought me so much fun and joy growing up- and still does now, just maybe not so much in Sims 4's case, sadly, though I wish it did. I really tried to love it but it's more a love/hate relationship, like one has with a toxic ex.😅

Many years ago on release, it didnt even have pools a constant vanilla feature since the original Sims 1. And they only added it for free because of the huge consumer backlash. Its always been a scam, it's EA we're talking about. The Sims only hope to be a game series ever again is for EA to go under and the license bought by a company that actually uses staffed dev teams to develop their games
I bought Sims 4 to try it out for a bit, even installed some DLC. My God, it's crazy how this game didn't have much backlash, I heard more backlash for Sim City than this game. It was just horrible, small map, rely on loading screens, no cars. People cried out because of Cyberpunk (which on release was buggy), which I found amazing on launch. People cried out about no man's sky (which had lost content) which I found to be what it essentially advertised itself as. However, Sims 4, after Sims 3 is clearly a downgrade. How has the community not rioted over this game?!

hi, i’m very active in the sims community and the right community would 100% agree with you. a lot of us are ending our journey with maxis (EA) because of this in particular!! i’ve been a consumer for almost a decade and own all but 3 packs, because they’re underserved and money grabbing. it’s time the sims has a competitor because a lot of us are ready to move on.. but to where?
I consider all the DLCs as nothing other than a blatant cash grab. I miss the Sims2. By far, the expansions gave you so much stuff. Your pet could even get a job. Sims3 didn't nickle and dime you to death . I have every expansion, stuff packs, and store content, so I am invested. The expansions and stuff packs gave you a lot. I have been playing the Sims since it came out, and the whole of Sims 4 could be flushed away, and I wouldn't shed a tear. EA has lost sight of the fun factor and only sees $$$.
Whenever I see people, simmers like Erin who I have watched videos that they’ve done legitimately complaining about this game I always just think it’s probably because they do not want to be on EA’s bad side I’m pretty sure they’re part of the game changers or whatever the hell they’re called games tester whatever they’re called and I also feel like I’ve seen a couple people in the screenshot of those replies who are also part of that group where they they don’t even pay for the packs half the time that’s why they’re saying it’s not exploited. Some of these are people who legitimately get really access to the game who get discounts for every new pack that comes out if they do a video or promote/talk about it some of them even get it for free. I legitimately have seen people talking about being part of that group and how EA Will legitimately. Basically they’re bribing you to say mostly good things about the fact that they come out with even if they’re riddled with bugs because we can see just from like the live streams that EA themselves released. They don’t play the Sims four on regular computer they’re not playing it on a regular gaming desktop or laptop or even just a regular computer in general they’re playing it on like industrial computer that might not pick up on the small bugs that are there they’re playing on versions of the game that technically they haven’t actually released and tested out. I don’t even think they do test playing anymore in general. These are the same people I’ve seen complaining or saying that they don’t think games like Para or Life by you will make it because of the fact that they’re talking about it being a buy it once and never have to pay for anything against type of games like these people who genuinely I don’t think play games outside of the Sims four or games outside of ES because EA does this with other games that they have that aren’t Sims four I’m pretty sure they have like a sports game or two because my older brother plays them and he also spends a stupid amount of money for added players and like extra gear and whatever the fuck it is that he pays for I don’t pay attention but I know that it is an EA game and I think that’s just their MO and if you don’t play games outside of it you do think that it’s impossible. Like I legitimately, keep talking people and comment section of some four players who were talking about the new life, simulators and how they’re not gonna be able to compete with the Sims four they’re not gonna be making any money because there’s a pay at once and you’re done, and people were pointing out, the fact that like they are games like Stardew Valley, which has been like one of the number one game on the market for several years and it’s consistently in like the top 10 games you only have to pay for the game. Once all the updates and bug fixes are free. We even got like an entirely free island in an update you don’t have to pay for that more than once. Games that you don’t have to pay for a shit ton of DLC. Do they have four years before EA decided to come out with a Sims four and then make a bunch of transactions to get basic in necessities and things. I remember sitting there seeing someone talking about how the Sims makes sense with how they come out with like game passes up like no it doesn’t. The Sims four had come out until they had officially finished making the game which it feels like they didn’t. There should’ve been seasons and pets already included in the game yes, they could’ve had some add-ons here and there Ranch and cottage live should not be two different game packs that should’ve just been one pack and it should’ve either been a big world, or it should’ve been the equivalent of a main world and then like a freaking destination world. Their new magical jewelry shit has been there with the spellcaster matter of fact, all of the occult should’ve been one game had on/packed. Those should not have been separate, vampires, werewolf Witches/spellcaster and magical jewelry that you can make and wear and I’ll give your above all of that should’ve been in one game pack. For rent and city living should’ve been one game pack. The Sims team should have been giving us free new places and updates as the Sim game got bigger to add more countries and cultures into it. It shouldn’t have taken them half as long as it did for there to be more skin tones and those skin tones to actually properly work on Sims. It shouldn’t have taken them half as long as it did for there to be Asian representation of Asian cultures and countries and things and even if it did those should’ve been free updates we still could’ve gotten a Japanese inspired world and a Southeast Asian inspired world. We still could’ve gotten a Latin America/African inspired world. We still could’ve gotten all of those world and they could’ve been free updates to the game, if anything it would’ve made, the Sims probably more accessible and more people wanna play it like that’s where I feel like people who primarily say the Sims four kind of fall off. They don’t understand that the reason why like Stardew Valley have such a huge fanbase and they’re able to survive and thrive without 50 million cash grabs is because clearly concerned ape cares about the game and playing the game, but also wants it to be like the absolute best version of a game that they could possibly come out with. There’s no passion behind the Sims anymore that’s the issue and the funny thing is I feel like people who play the Sims four and that’s like their main game that they play have this weird elitism because so many of them most sit there and shout cash for this game because it’s almost impossible to play with just game. The first Sims I played was the iconic Sims 3. As a kid I spent a lot of my hard earned pocket money or birthday money, sometimes getting the packs as christmas presents (me and my brother got The Sims 3 as a christmas present, that's when my love to this game started) just so I can have more fun in the game. Years later I got the Sims 4 for myself because I was already the fan of the series and I thought that I would have a lot of fun. But then...once I got a game pack, a stuff pack, maybe even an accesories. But the difference ? I got the sims 4 packs so I could do something interesting in the game and even with the packs I had nothing to do after few hours of gameplay, because simply I got bored how lacking were the packs. Do u guys see the difference ? For sims 3 I got packs so I have MORE stuff to do, for Sims 4 I got packs so I have ANY stuff to do. I'm sorry but for how long u could go to the same forest ? How long could u spend in the same place at work and mop the same floor over and over ? We got some interactive jobs in sims 3, and because of open world it's wayyy better than interactive careers in Sims 4.There is no challenge in sims 4 ? In sims 3 ? Having multiple houses can make u go bankrupt in one week if u don't have a stable income. I really liked sims 4 at the start, but as the time went by, I realized how lacking is the game and no, I don't want to HAVE TO buy packs to have any gameplay. I want a choice if I want to buy it. as an avid sims 4 player (over 2200 hours), I completely understand and agree with your point, the sims 4 is definitely becoming more and more of a cash grab, and I believe that is because people keep buying packs and kits. I have bought every single expansion, game, & stuff pack as well as the majority of kits up to horse ranch, I started to realize that the packs may have improve in visual appeal, but have decreased drastically in playability, replay-ability & polishing. for example, for rent was such a let down, while I love being able to make my own apartments, the pack felt extremely empty. tl:dr; as a sims 4 stan I completely agree with the points being made here :)

I love playing the Sims, but can't for the life of me understand why they took issue with what you said. I don't like money wasted buying things I don't enjoy. My husband knows not to buy me flowers, but he buys me expansion packs for the Sims. He still knows well enough not to buy them before they're at least 50% off. It's overpriced shit that is broken up into too many parts and if they had competition, I wouldn't be buying anything from EA games. And there's never been an expansion that I wasn't willing to wait for. These people buying full price are out of their minds.
I remember being 11 and getting the game for the first time, and now I am turning 21 this year. The game still feels half-baked, and I’m concerned about the franchise since they normally gave us a lot of stuff within 4 years like sims 2 and 3. Sure they had their flaws but damn compared to this it’s starting to feel like a collapse eventually.

The more I'm experiencing the ongoing issues, the more I realize that the whole damn Sims 4 game itself is a scam. And I tend to use The Sims 4 for some of my characters in the slideshow with captions for the Top 10s, 15s and 20s, as well as my series Corporate Garbage Can, a RUclips video series where bad businesses get taken to the dump. And Haunted Castle, a RUclips video game show series where randomized sims have an opportunity to win big money by exploring an "abandoned" castle. Well, not technically abandoned since we took out the fourth wall, added cameras, and convert the castle into a studio and rooms with interactive objects that will open which door is destined to open. Plus, I added a few hazards known as Grimm's Ghosts. Just to make the game interesting. Can't have a game show without a few penalties, right?

I'm just gonna confess that I had a hard time saying anything bad about sims 4. I loved the sims back in 2000 and the love kept growing. I really wanted to believe that it wasn't over. I really wanted to believe that kids today would still get to experience the absolute madness that was the sims. I was wrong, but after such a long time... it was really hard to let go.

@@Emily-ew4xs, first of all, you can turn off the in-game store thing in the Sims 3. I don't like that's it's on by default, but you can get rid of it in about 10 seconds. After that, you could easily forget the Sims 3 store even existed. Which was fine, because the items there were seen as extras that weren't really part of the actual game. Whereas Kits are treated like actual Packs, right up there with Stuff Packs. And if you're a completionist, who wants to own all of the PACKS (a type of player the company knows exists), well...
And, people complained about the Sims 2 and Sims 3 stores too. So this whole, "If you accepted it in the other games," whataboutism thing doesn't really work because, no, it wasn't really accepted in the other games either. The Sims 3 store, especially, got bashed to hell and back. (The Sims 2 store doesn't get bashed as much because most people don't know it even existed.) So it's not like Sims 4 is being held to some hypocritically high standard for being so cash grabby. It's being called out the same way the other games got called out.

People told me I was missing out without seasons and I have never regreted a pack purchase more. People told me infants were better with growing together, finally caved and got growing together on sale and infants are now annoying. Basegame infants weren’t terrible. No, you don’t ‘need’ any pack beyond what works for your personal gameplay. Maybe 2 of the three packs that affect gardening make gardening just fine for you and the other stuff you don’t care about (like seasonal affects on plants).

The way they gatekeep the Sims 4 is mental. I know for a fact Pixelade feels the same, but he's trying not to get on EA's bad side and I can't blame him. Lazy Game Reviews stopped receiving early access to packs a few years ago because EA didn't like his opinion. It seems having an opinion about The Sims 4 makes you a "Nasty and Rude person".

I'm tired of simmers reviewing the broken packs and saying things like- It has issues, but i think it's worth it if you wait for a sale. NO! When you buy the broken packs, you give EA the okay to continue to pump out broken, lackluster packs.. I refuse to continue to give them any more of my money. They never completely fix the broken dlc anyway. I also really think there's nothing they can do to win me back as a customer. The game is broken and boring. Sims 2 and 3 will ALWAYS be superior games.

Can you imagine if like, Grand Theft Auto 6, came without weather and you had to buy a separate expansion pack to get it? Why is The Sims the only franchise that gets to do that?
EA makes the situation even worse with Sims 4 by exluding core elements that were in previous games, and selling them seperately in expensive packs. How on earth do people defend that? Is that the standard they want to set? And my biggest question of them all, do they poop out money?

Here's the thing, most Simmers do not play other games. They have no frame of reference for what is normal and acceptable, either in terms of business practices or in terms of how much *gameplay* a game should come with, or in terms of how readily and easily bugs can be ironed out. They think this is fine, and they resent being told they're being taken advantage of, because that would make them *naïve* and *gullible*, and they find that more insulting than EA taking advantage of them. Ignore the haters, you were RIGHT.
This is why I don’t mess with a vast majority of “simfluencers” or w/e the eff they’re calling themselves. The only ones I trust are the OG’s - LGR and Carl Sims guides. They don’t even really do sim reviews anymore because that’s how much they stand on what they say as far as the sims 4.
There’s two type of simfluencers that I noticed. The ones that are all the way up EA’s azz, and the ones who front like they’re disappointed with the state of the game, but still keep buying the packs. Real 🤡 shit, imo.
Oh this is so embarrassing and then the same people were crying when EA released a patch DAYS later with a pulsating shopping cart button in the UI of the game begging simmers to buy the new broken packs. 74 DLC "might" be normal if they cost maybe $1-10 dollars a pack. If 74 DLC exist for other games its literally a 99¢ dlc for a new outfit or sum. These "expansion packs" are the cost of a full release game. I honestly thought TS4 was a dead game when people realized the absurd amount of DLC and glitchy gameplay. There truly is something unsettling about some of TS4 communities behavior, which is why I had to stop engaging with it online, even tho I used to play and sometimes enjoyed some packs. I admit I've even gotten hyped for some of the newer packs (was let down ofc, not surprised anymore so i've uninstalled TS4 for peace of mind for now lol) I love The Sims series as a whole, but never engaged with the community until the last couple of years and I eventually had to stop on twitter because I saw how bad it actually was there. I still consume some sims 4 update channels just to see how it's going incase i decide maybe i'll give it another chance, but at this point I don't want to bother. A lot of it just really leaves a bad taste in my mouth😥I will always love The Sims series though, as it was my first big kid™ computer game and it brought me so much fun and joy growing up- and still does now, just maybe not so much in Sims 4's case, sadly, though I wish it did. I really tried to love it but it's more a love/hate relationship, like one has with a toxic ex.😅

I bought Sims 4 to try it out for a bit, even installed some DLC. My God, it's crazy how this game didn't have much backlash, I heard more backlash for Sim City than this game. It was just horrible, small map, rely on loading screens, no cars. People cried out because of Cyberpunk (which on release was buggy), which I found amazing on launch. People cried out about no man's sky (which had lost content) which I found to be what it essentially advertised itself as. However, Sims 4, after Sims 3 is clearly a downgrade. How has the community not rioted over this game?!

hi, i’m very active in the sims community and the right community would 100% agree with you. a lot of us are ending our journey with maxis (EA) because of this in particular!! i’ve been a consumer for almost a decade and own all but 3 packs, because they’re underserved and money grabbing. it’s time the sims has a competitor because a lot of us are ready to move on.. but to where?

I consider all the DLCs as nothing other than a blatant cash grab. I miss the Sims2. By far, the expansions gave you so much stuff. Your pet could even get a job. Sims3 didn't nickle and dime you to death . I have every expansion, stuff packs, and store content, so I am invested. The expansions and stuff packs gave you a lot. I have been playing the Sims since it came out, and the whole of Sims 4 could be flushed away, and I wouldn't shed a tear. EA has lost sight of the fun factor and only sees $$$.
Whenever I see people, simmers like Erin who I have watched videos that they’ve done legitimately complaining about this game I always just think it’s probably because they do not want to be on EA’s bad side I’m pretty sure they’re part of the game changers or whatever the hell they’re called games tester whatever they’re called and I also feel like I’ve seen a couple people in the screenshot of those replies who are also part of that group where they they don’t even pay for the packs half the time that’s why they’re saying it’s not exploited.
Some of these are people who legitimately get really access to the game who get discounts for every new pack that comes out if they do a video or promote/talk about it some of them even get it for free. I legitimately have seen people talking about being part of that group and how EA Will legitimately. Basically they’re bribing you to say mostly good things about the fact that they come out with even if they’re riddled with bugs because we can see just from like the live streams that EA themselves released. They don’t play the Sims four on regular computer they’re not playing it on a regular gaming desktop or laptop or even just a regular computer in general they’re playing it on like industrial computer that might not pick up on the small bugs that are there they’re playing on versions of the game that technically they haven’t actually released and tested out. I don’t even think they do test playing anymore in general.
These are the same people I’ve seen complaining or saying that they don’t think games like Para or Life by you will make it because of the fact that they’re talking about it being a buy it once and never have to pay for anything against type of games like these people who genuinely I don’t think play games outside of the Sims four or games outside of ES because EA does this with other games that they have that aren’t Sims four I’m pretty sure they have like a sports game or two because my older brother plays them and he also spends a stupid amount of money for added players and like extra gear and whatever the fuck it is that he pays for I don’t pay attention but I know that it is an EA game and I think that’s just their MO and if you don’t play games outside of it you do think that it’s impossible.
Like I legitimately, keep talking people and comment section of some four players who were talking about the new life, simulators and how they’re not gonna be able to compete with the Sims four they’re not gonna be making any money because there’s a pay at once and you’re done, and people were pointing out, the fact that like they are games like Stardew Valley, which has been like one of the number one game on the market for several years and it’s consistently in like the top 10 games you only have to pay for the game. Once all the updates and bug fixes are free. We even got like an entirely free island in an update you don’t have to pay for that more than once. Games that you don’t have to pay for a shit ton of DLC. Do they have four years before EA decided to come out with a Sims four and then make a bunch of transactions to get basic in necessities and things.
I remember sitting there seeing someone talking about how the Sims makes sense with how they come out with like game passes up like no it doesn’t. The Sims four had come out until they had officially finished making the game which it feels like they didn’t. There should’ve been seasons and pets already included in the game yes, they could’ve had some add-ons here and there Ranch and cottage live should not be two different game packs that should’ve just been one pack and it should’ve either been a big world, or it should’ve been the equivalent of a main world and then like a freaking destination world. Their new magical jewelry shit has been there with the spellcaster matter of fact, all of the occult should’ve been one game had on/packed. Those should not have been separate, vampires, werewolf Witches/spellcaster and magical jewelry that you can make and wear and I’ll give your above all of that should’ve been in one game pack. For rent and city living should’ve been one game pack.
The Sims team should have been giving us free new places and updates as the Sim game got bigger to add more countries and cultures into it. It shouldn’t have taken them half as long as it did for there to be more skin tones and those skin tones to actually properly work on Sims. It shouldn’t have taken them half as long as it did for there to be Asian representation of Asian cultures and countries and things and even if it did those should’ve been free updates we still could’ve gotten a Japanese inspired world and a Southeast Asian inspired world. We still could’ve gotten a Latin America/African inspired world. We still could’ve gotten all of those world and they could’ve been free updates to the game, if anything it would’ve made, the Sims probably more accessible and more people wanna play it like that’s where I feel like people who primarily say the Sims four kind of fall off.
They don’t understand that the reason why like Stardew Valley have such a huge fanbase and they’re able to survive and thrive without 50 million cash grabs is because clearly concerned ape cares about the game and playing the game, but also wants it to be like the absolute best version of a game that they could possibly come out with. There’s no passion behind the Sims anymore that’s the issue and the funny thing is I feel like people who play the Sims four and that’s like their main game that they play have this weird elitism because so many of them most sit there and shout cash for this game because it’s almost impossible to play with just game. There’s literally nothing to do, especially if you’re not playing on like PC and you’re playing on console and then if you are playing on console then it’s like you have to have all the packs for you be able to do anything that’s fun if you’re playing on PC then it’s like a weird elitism of having all of the game packs and then having very specific mods in your game because it’s like how are you playing the game without that like I’ve legit seen people act like that over this game and it’s like Babe this is not high school and you are not part of the plastic if you have been brainwashed so badly or you sold out because you allow them to buy your loyalty by giving you free game, hacks or giving you discounts and shit that you can no longer see the truth
Playing a game is a form of escapism from the real world. Now The Sims 4 is a huge mess of glitches and bugs and is not worth playing now.
The first Sims I played was the iconic Sims 3. As a kid I spent a lot of my hard earned pocket money or birthday money, sometimes getting the packs as christmas presents (me and my brother got The Sims 3 as a christmas present, that's when my love to this game started) just so I can have more fun in the game. Years later I got the Sims 4 for myself because I was already the fan of the series and I thought that I would have a lot of fun. But then...once I got a game pack, a stuff pack, maybe even an accesories. But the difference ? I got the sims 4 packs so I could do something interesting in the game and even with the packs I had nothing to do after few hours of gameplay, because simply I got bored how lacking were the packs. Do u guys see the difference ? For sims 3 I got packs so I have MORE stuff to do, for Sims 4 I got packs so I have ANY stuff to do. I'm sorry but for how long u could go to the same forest ? How long could u spend in the same place at work and mop the same floor over and over ? We got some interactive jobs in sims 3, and because of open world it's wayyy better than interactive careers in Sims 4.There is no challenge in sims 4 ? In sims 3 ? Having multiple houses can make u go bankrupt in one week if u don't have a stable income. I really liked sims 4 at the start, but as the time went by, I realized how lacking is the game and no, I don't want to HAVE TO buy packs to have any gameplay. I want a choice if I want to buy it. I want to buy packs to improve and have more diverse gameplay.
Now I play sims 3 because thanks to u Malcolm I saw how fun the game could be, what I can do and how to make money more interesting ways than boring jobs

as an avid sims 4 player (over 2200 hours), I completely understand and agree with your point, the sims 4 is definitely becoming more and more of a cash grab, and I believe that is because people keep buying packs and kits. On the other hand, you also don’t have to buy anything you don’t want, but sims 4 youtubers and EA themselves makes it seem like your missing out of tons of new content in an expensive, broken pack which adds one new skill which could’ve been base game. I have bought every single expansion, game, & stuff pack as well as the majority of kits up to horse ranch, I started to realize that the packs may have improve in visual appeal, but have decreased drastically in playability, replay-ability & polishing. for example, for rent was such a let down, while I love being able to make my own apartments, the pack felt extremely empty.

I love playing the Sims, but can't for the life of me understand why they took issue with what you said.
I don't like money wasted buying things I don't enjoy. My husband knows not to buy me flowers, but he buys me expansion packs for the Sims. He still knows well enough not to buy them before they're at least 50% off. It's overpriced shit that is broken up into too many parts and if they had competition, I wouldn't be buying anything from EA games. And there's never been an expansion that I wasn't willing to wait for. These people buying full price are out of their minds.
I remember being 11 and getting the game for the first time, and now I am turning 21 this year. The game still feels half-baked, and I’m concerned about the franchise since they normally gave us a lot of stuff within 4 years like sims 2 and 3. Sure they had their flaws but damn compared to this it’s starting to feel like a collapse eventually.

If you get defensive enough to lash out on people who question the business practices of multibillion dollar corporations, you need to ask yourself why that is. It’s even crazier when people are adamantly defending companies (who by nature should always be subjected to criticism in a healthy market) are actively admitting that the company is greedy but still see no issue with it.

The more I'm experiencing the ongoing issues, the more I realize that the whole damn Sims 4 game itself is a scam. And I tend to use The Sims 4 for some of my characters in the slideshow with captions for the Top 10s, 15s and 20s, as well as my series Corporate Garbage Can, a RUclips video series where bad businesses get taken to the dump. And Haunted Castle, a RUclips video game show series where randomized sims have an opportunity to win big money by exploring an "abandoned" castle. Well, not technically abandoned since we took out the fourth wall, added cameras, and convert the castle into a studio and rooms with interactive objects that will open which door is destined to open. Plus, I added a few hazards known as Grimm's Ghosts. Just to make the game interesting. Can't have a game show without a few penalties, right?
People who still buy the sims 4 expansions and stuff packs are single handedly carrying capitalism
