FACTS! THE SIMS 3 IS PLAYABLE WITHOUT THE MODS (well besides the gpu one), BUT THE SIMS 4 NEEDS THE MODS TO BE PLAYABLE. I just got a new laptop and I haven’t even played ta4 yet because I’m redownloading my entire mods folder, I mean yeah I got some stuff for ts3 (the GPU and Nrass) and some CC but not a single gameplay mod!
I feel the majority of players defending EA, are probably childern, or simply naive.
Companies like EA already showed us with FIFA and Madden NFL, that if the players will keep buying the same shit, EA will keep selling the same shit. Why should they stop selling several small packs instead of releasing 1 full expansion? People buy it anyway.
This is really what is going on! Sims 4 has become a youtubers game and basically creators and EA are in a toxic relationship.
Honestly, several creators in the creator network have called out lackluster packs, but then the next week they are talking about the ‘potential’ of the next pack and wants for the next pack quarter. It isn’t so much a bunch of positive messaging, it’s a constant cycle of mixed messaging tbh. New pack hype, criticisim of new pack, disappointment with new pack …just as that is setting in and bugs are flagged…hype the NEXT pack.
Yes, call them out! I’m so sick of big creators acting critical of the Sims 4 dlc in one video and then singing the praises of the latest crap to come out in the next one
i fear that this project rene is going to be even worse with the dlc. like those mobile games that drench suckers for every penny they have. im sticking with the sims 3 foreva.

I don’t trust most of the sims 4 creators. Especially when a new pack comes out and they say “”I love this new blank I’ll use it all the time, it’s what I’ve been needing forever,” then proceed to making 90% base game content.

I think you're the first simmer who I hear voicing concerns about the fact that the Sims 4 will continue to live on even after "Project René" releases. Thanks! I've been concerned as well. Will the Sims 4 never end? Will we ever have a tiny chance to get our hands on a better opus? If it never happens then I'm honestly happy to stick with the Sims 2 and 3 and check out other franchises in the future, to be honest ^^ Thanks for your honest and "unhinged" opinions as always :)

It really sucks. I feel like the soul of the franchise died along time ago. Whenever certain people took the lead during the sims 4.
It’s so f’ing dumb. Everyone just wants a game that gives us the best parts of all the different sims games and updates them a bit. Like why does this have to be an experiment?
Can’t they just make what people want. The sims is supposed to be the sims, it doesn’t have to be anything else, that’s not why people play it.
I worry about how hard it’s going to be to get sims 2 and 3 running say 5 years down the line. EA ripped the sims 2 out of circulation. They don’t even give you a chance to give them money to buy it now.

I stopped trusting EA after sims 4 release, I never felt so disappointed in my life.

I uninstalled Sims 4 a year ago and have been loving Sims 3 again since. Even thinking about completing the collection after all these years. Still, after 20 years of playing this franchise, Sims 3 reigns supreme for me.

I'm so glad that you called them out. I'm a new Sims 4 player (started during the pandemic), bought a lot of packs and now I deeply regret it. It's honestly just ridiculous how many Sims 4 players got blinded by EA and the big Simmers. Everytime when I watch Lilsimsie's content it makes me MAD as hell, I just unsubscribed to her and all the other Sims 4 Simmers. The only Sims 4 Simmer I like is SatchOnSims because he is brutally honest about the Sims 4 and EA being shit. I bought a gameplay pack last year and 4 items have been deleted, this issue is still ongoing since April of this year! I don't even get to play with the things I paid with my hard earned money for.
Satch and LGR whenever EA comes out with an "expansion pack" because he called out their BS years ago and not only did they stop sending him stuff to review/showcase, he just got mad with the money-grabbing tactics and calls it out whenever he does do a Sims 4 video.
After watching some Sins 4 channels, I'm glad i stayed with 3. It sounds super expensive. It sounds boring. It sounds like they don't like it enough.

Project Rene is not going to be Sims 5 is the most concerning news ever. If Sims 4 fans are relieved that their game will last for a few more years, think again. The game is past their capacity and performance will be affected.
Not mentioned here but, the money grubbing on Sims4 is so out of control. Its just “more” not “better”. One has to imagine that really stifles the creativity and talents of the folks working on the game.

I can't stand the fact that nowadays most "gameplays" and "playthroughs" are just rags to riches, building videos with grind, and the creators have to add chaos to make it interesting, because there is no lore. Like even though it’s amazing how they’ve fostered the Sims 4 community, we’re not friends. We are the consumers and to the EA/ Sims team and by extension Sims RUclipsrs, you are the producers.
It’s weird when they complain about us critiquing them online. Imagine if you were complaining about your flight being delayed and then a Delta customer rep would be complaining about how we were treating them online… The reality is that they want to be friendly with us when it’s beneficial to them but when shit hits the fan, they quickly dismiss us and are unprofessional.
Man it’s going to be rough to see people buy 1000s of dollars in dlc again.

I went back to Sims 3 this past week after watching a video of yours, and I have had more fun this last week than I have ever with Sims 4. Now I have a better computer than I did when I started with Sims 4, and Sims 3 runs beautifully now. EA is problematic at best. I wish they would start running Sims 3 DLC with the sales. a couple sims 3 patches, a 64 bit version for PC, more sales… wish EA supported sims 3 more! or idk based on how some of the sims 4 updates do more harm than good maybe that’s a bad idea lol
@@NotMalcolm updates I fear would do more harm, as nice as those optimizations sound. I’m forever frustrated having paid so much for a game that will just randomly stop working after an update. I grew up gaming with PC games that were on floppy discs, and the Sims 4 is the buggiest mess I have ever encountered. It’s been nice having fun rather than having to spend my limited free time troubleshooting Sims 4 and updating mods after another update. However, Sims 4 NEEDS the improvements and updates. I just wish they weren’t so often game breaking. It would be terrible if they issued an update that broke everyone’s Sims 3 games, especially with so many generational games like yours.
Does anyone else remember when all the major Sims 4 youtubers all played the same old expansion pack in the same week? I'm not talking about the newest one, it was a really old one and they were ALL playing it. It was actually kinda creepy.
My big problem with the Sims youtubers is that EA/sims team seems to think that's how we all play, and its just not. Most of them hate occults, but the reason occults was in Sims 1 2 and 3 was because the players all loved them. Then here comes the youtubers saying how they don't like occult sims and next thing you know there were none in Sims 4. Yeah, that happened too. They stopped listening to players and started only listening to the youtubers and then started telling the youtubers what to think, either directly or indirectly. Do I watch some of them? Yeah. Do I listen and take their opinions as truth? No.
I miss Carl's Sims, he told us like it is. And Pleasant Sims, she did too. The rest are interesting, sometimes fun, but....

I do like the concept of being able to play sims on the go like if you are bored in a waiting room or you want to bust your tablet out in bed. But the cons will outweigh the positives.

Of course EA claims it will continue to support Sims 4 alongside Sims 5. They won't admit that they'll stop producing for Sims 4 and "unsupport it" once they lull enough people into buying Sims 5. I thought EA pushed it with EPs for Sims 3 once Sims 4 had been announced, but that has nothing on what Sims 4 is doing. Sims 5 will just get worse so long as players are willing to spend. I usually don't like reboots, but I'd be happier to hear them say, "You know what? We've learned. We're going back & taking what players say are the best features from all games & creating a new one with those features for modern machines."

My game is not even playable at this point, after a few minutes it will freeze and I have to turn off my computer. I can play cyberpunk and Starfield and every game I own, no problem, so it's the Sims. EA is making way too much money on their mobile games to ever want to get rid of Sims 4. My only hope at this point is Life by You. I am also mad I pay over 1000 dollars on this game, which is now unplayable on a top of the line gaming PC, I should not be having these issues.

I mean since I am form Austria I can only talk about the german youtube world. But back then there were soooo many Sims 3 and Sims 2 Lets Plays. One Lets Play could have 20, no 40, no 100 videos all like 20 minutes long, full of gameplay and stories and lore. Now, with Sims 4, that´s not anymore. Sims Players only post CAS and build/buy videos. And even if they make real gameplay and real lets plays then one lets play is maybe like 8 videos long and then they don´t bother anymore and start with a new "lets play" with a new family. Same with challenges, even legacy challenges are boring since on most of them there are SO many rules for each gen that there often isn´t really individulity. But at the same time when these Sims 4 youtubers "go back to Sims2/3" and make a video about how great Sims 3 was, it´s again only a 10 minutes long video where nothing really happened and that´s it with SIms 3. Sims 4 created the blandest Sims-RUclipsrs ever

Honestly from the looks of it, it seems like project rene is going to be what the sims 4 beta/prototype (project Olympus) was originally supposed to be. Which the sims 4 got so much backlash when the prototype was revealed to be an online game. What is EA thinking when they were trying to create project rene.💀

The editing got me in tears looord😂 ever since tS4 dropped with babies as objects and them continuously dropping expensive micro packs, I lost interest. Ill happily continue playing ts3 w/ a couple of mods to combat the bugs EA refused to fix. ts3 modding community is the rmvp tbh.
People who use maxis match cc are so hostile and racist. Alpha cc simmers are always attacked unprovoked and told they’re mentally ill because they like cc that is more realistic and in English.
As mainly a console player i completely agree: The Sims SHOULD be a pc only game. I play The Sims since the very first one and it was always on pc. I also think that the UI just lends itself to be pc exclusive. Of course, that my personal opinion. I like to play on a console with a controller. But i never played or bought a sims game on console because it just feels unnatural to me. I think it plays much nicer with a mice & keyboard. Though you don't need your keyboard that much, but anyway... 😅
At this point, the only sims creators I truly enjoy are Plumbella and Satchonsims

For me turning it into a mobile accessible game isn't a bad thing. Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail are two PC games. One is completely and utterly open world, the other has limited open world (loading screens between areas) and they work great on mobile. Mobile games have long evolved since the old days. So I'd love to be able to play the Sims on my mobile. Only problem is that EA as a developer would be the one to fuck up the experience of players

They ruined it for me, might go back and try 2 if i get bored of 3, more bored of 4 and tired of medival 😂 im ready for those other similation games, the sims needs the competition. Yh not a fan of the creators the xurellia thing, and the silly drama after had me like, yall really fighting over a pack that would have more content if it was free, all because you wanna support then, ok then buy it and give them money but lets not play its as shallow as every other kit, at least having a creator collab we get stuff we actually want, if only they'd use those creators behind the scenes, advising on gameplay and packs, oh but that would mean ea actually caring about wjat we want and need instead of cashing in a quick buck for easy labor. What EA should do is create a new world, one very large very very large world which is like our world because it really is a global game played by people all around the globe.. then create all the cities, towns, urban areas you like to add to the game, allowing for Air Planes, Trains, ships of all kinds, and of coarse automobiles with much larger neighborhoods, and allow for people to create their own lots of the size and shape they desire.. so you can create a smallish size lot or a very large lot for your property, perhaps you just like a lot of property.. and then created that property by putting stakes into the ground, where you place stakes, that maps out your property. so it can be of various shapes and sizes.. customized as you choose to make it for your game.. there will of coarse also be various other properties of the sizes we are all familiar with, but just allowing for custom creating lots would be great.. so you got a new global world, with new cities and towns and country areas, with roads, trains, planes ships ect.. all manor of transportation.. and stop making everything for childs play.. an example of that is Mini Sheep, could not make regular sheep and allow the sheep to actually breed and have lambs or ewes.. no, just mini this mini that because we want children to play.. well here is some news for you.. kids could play with the lambs.. the lambs would be the cuteness you want for childrens play.. but for adults, its hardly the play we really want.. make it a normal world with real world things.. children can handle real world things.. and there is always cuteness in real world things.. like lambs or ewes, or puppy dogs or kittens.. I would have liked to have had real sheep or goats and have my dog go herd them out into a pasture.. like good sheep dogs do.. anyway, I think you get the point.. the general player for the game is an adult or close to it..

I don’t agree with you that the sims should go to only pc as a console player that’s been playing since sims 2 to on the ps2 Im not really bothered about mods or cc or any of that’s stuff I play console because it’s good for my joints in my fingers when I’m on my computer for more then five minutes my fingers start to cramp up so taking the sims 5 away from console is not the right move and not everyone wants to fork out a lode of money just so they can play the sims if they can get it on something they already own then they will 😊
Issue is that Sims 2 and Sims 3 on console were different versions of their computer counterpart. They were basically their own game slightly resembling the computer version.
They... aren't the pc versions ported to console like sims 4 is though. No sims 2/3 for any other device aside from PC (so, ps2, psp, ds, etc...) is the same as the sims 2/3 for PC. They were made to play and control differently specifically because they weren't for PC.
Sims 4 on ps4 is an actual nightmare and even though I got it only when it became free, it was such a mind numbing hassle that I still wanted my money back. All the menus feel dumb and stupid and just not right. I say that because I did play it on PC and a primarily controller player person whenever possible. If it had proper menus that aren't a complete annoyance, sure, maybe it could work - but we all know EA probably won't put a drop of effort into it.

As someone pointed out in another video I watched... "The reason they're keeping Sims4 is so that if Project Renee fails they still have something to fall back on." I believe that statement has a lot of plausibility and wouldn't be surprised if it holds true

Well EA tried frankensteining Project Olympus into Sims4 and that didn't work out too great for them so this is a smarter strategy for EA.
Given that Project Rene IS Project Olympus, I think EA regret making Sims4 instead of keeping their online multiplayer that could have made them HEAPS of money if they'd created a "Sims4 store" along with their Sims3 store.

Rage baiting Sims 4 is still promoting Sims 4. People like to pretend it’s not. He could also just play Sim 2 or 3 like some other Sims tubers who ACTUALLY stood by what they said and went Sims 4 sucks and neither buys nor talks much about the packs anymore (LGR litterally ignores most Sims 4 news at this point). People who click on rage bait are usually driven by confirmation bias and it makes as much money as being say a Fantayzia (however you spell it) who basically gushes rainbows about every Sims 4 pack.
Well here's my conspiracy theory:
Project Rene WAS going to be Sims 5 until Life By You came out swinging. EA freeeeaked tf out and now it's just a little spin off game and might as well send it to mobile too to help recoup some of their losses because they had to go back to the drawing board and actually put in some work for Sims 5 if they are to compete at all.

I suspect Project Rene is being developed to be what they originally intended for Sims 4. If you look way back at the concept, it’s vastly different from the product we got. But it also explains where some of the deficits the “community” are upset about come from (ie no open world, no cars). The code was destined for something else.

God it’s a bleak time for the sims. Approaching 10 years of the sims 4, there’s no sims 5 on the horizon, and we still don’t have cars, burglars, or open worlds.
Sims 4 will never have an open world. They’d have to take the game completely offline and rebuild it. And the most they could do with cars is a click to travel car … like the car doesn’t move, you click on it and it fades out. Because they built no routing into the game for personal cars to get from houses to roads (forget the open world thing, that is not actually a problem, sims 4 actually has more ‘open road’ then Sims 2), but Sims 2 style car the code was already there because service people and the carpool arrived at your house in a car. So ownable cars were made using the routing already there. And houses had the driveway and road adjacent systems to make it work.
Wym "still"? It was never going to have open world, and without open world, there's no point in having cars. (They've no excuse for burglars though)
It is so sad cause I love a lot sims 4 features: amazing build mode, u can easily switch between households, u have access to all of the worlds in one save file… but oh my god this game is so boring and expensive compared to sims 2 and sims 3, and creators are like: wow that’s a really good pack u can do 3 new things with same mechanics that were created in 2017
Speaking facts! Don't expect full honesty from most of the big sims 4 creators. Only time they'll speak about an issue is when it's the popular thing to do in the sims community

When people try to compare Paralives, Vivaland, Life By You or any other game to the sims and then lower the value of all these games, the perfect comeback that we can bring on them for this is that the fatal difference between all of these games is a class action law suit...

I don't trust, like or support ANY large sims 4 content creator. They are all pawns and yes men for EA, they are payed a hefty sum to promote and review every new addition to the game in a positive light. At the end of the day they have emaculate pc setups and heavy pockets so they can enjoy the game without worry while regular players can't
Can we please talk about how the sims 4 turned FREE mods into dlc that cost 30 dollars?! Magic and wizards? That shit was free and had fan charm to it! Sims going to school? They have mods that allow kids all the way from elementary, and their high school setting was much larger.

Also so many of the packs of the sims 4, that can be in one pack. I remember playing the sims 3, and there was late night where it came with apartments, fame, acting career, vampires (although I did find it a bit strange that vampires came with late night but it’s still a very fun pack and you can expand their skills with the supernatural pack) dance clubs and lounges (which had so much detail in comparison to sims 4, despite clubs and lounges being base game. The gameplay is just so shallow), and even the basic interactions such as slow dancing added so much depth to the sims 3.
In sims 4, to access all this you need city living, get famous, vampires, get together (if you want to add more gameplay for clubs), my wedding stories (in order to have the slow dancing interaction without mods, which is ridiculous that they’re charging so much considering the pack is broken and it’s even worst then dining out. At least with dining out, there’s a mod to fix it for PC/Mac players. But with “my wedding stories” the pack is just unplayable.
If you add all these packs together, it will be $160. Which is so much money just so you can have the same or similar amount of gameplay. Not to mention the world is so much bigger in sims 3, they included apartments, and then they have upper and richer celebrities on the other side of the map. Late night is what Get famous wished it was.😭

i think you might be the only youtuber i've seen bring up the sims 4 lifespan thing. how on earth are they going to continue it? they already repeat themselves in the build/buy and cas of every new pack (horse ranch vs cottage living, modern luxe kit vs that one art deco sp), and the new ep they've teased that's about renting just sounds like city living 2. the game is already busted af from ten years of patching in gameplay systems that should've been base game at launch and trying to make a thousand dollars worth of dlc all play nice with each other. and when i see gameplay of new packs i swear at least half of it is just clicking through menus or popups or the inventory instead of watching your sim actually do things. people were EXCITED about the text adventure minigame thing in horse ranch. i still play the old sims games, but jesus, i can't imagine being excited about the prospect of spending hundreds of more dollars on bloat for them.
So I've heard that, "Sims 4 is a blank canvas and we will render it by adding new sets of color palettes depending on the players' taste and make it complete," one of sims 4 guru's said. Uhh... yeah... Allegedly.... Their fancy metaphor is not convincing. EA loves making things sound and look aesthetically pleasing. It has been 9 YEARS and they are still not done with adding DLC's to expand the game and make it broken. They could not even fix their "smarter sims" who would always end up washing the dishes in the bathroom sink. Man, that was unforgivable. Not to mention, the lags, bugs and glitches were inconsistent before but it got to a point where I cannot tolerate it anymore so I just pressed uninstall and problems solved lol
But I do want the sims 5 to replace my current sims game. They seem to think the sims 4 is like the best thing since sliced bread.
Hey! long-term viewer here, love you and your content you got me into ts3 after a long time, recently got a new PC and was super excited to be able to play ts3 again! sadly I have an issue where I can't seem to download any pack from the EA app , I have googled it and it seemed like an issue for two months now and EA wont do anything this is so terrible, so just leaving a comment here in case you know any way i can play im desperate really

Honestly though, the argument about cc aesthetics isn't new, it's been around since the sims 2. There's a GoS thread about maxis match vs realistic cc that still gets new posts. Realistic was all the rage for a few years, i think around 2010 it switched over and now maxis match is more popular. So it doesn't really say much about the sims 4 in particular
(I mean, sims 4 is shallow, that's just not a great indicator since it happens with games that have good gameplay too)
it's more noticeable on 4 because of the play-doh texture
i think it's more intense than back then though, because the gap between the game's art style and realism is so huge. i wasn't around for sims 2 days but in the sims 3, often the main difference is a few extra fabric folds. and NOBODY likes the vanilla hair texture.
I don’t see why there’s such a fight to be honest, maxis match and alpha have their pros and cons.
I like alpha for the really fashionable clothes. The spicy looking clubwear is charming and the details are just impeccable. But I find that all the outfits are just Instagram baddie and not much else in style.
Maxis match however, I like the variety of styles that suit a wider age bracket than just adults and there’s a lot more simmers doing their own thing in mm so I’ll go to one cc creator who does goth stuff then another who does nice evening gowns only problem is that they don’t do the type of clothes alpha cc does.
I just want variety.

There was a video I saw today about there being a HUGE UPDATE to the sims 4, and then it was a 17 minute video on how cupcakes can now be baked in an oven and they've slightly tweaked the recipes menu (it's still really laggy though) 😅 Sis.... Come on....

That honestly took me out of my sims 4 positivity trance. My bf was showing me the costs I’ve approximately spent over the years on ts4 and then I saw this HUGE update to the game & was like yay!!! But was disappointed to see it’s just more content you need to PAY for & its like the 3rd pack around kitchens. I tried to play and I got tired of the game, even with a bunch of mods! My bf has multiple ts3 packs and basically just let me have em & I’ve been enjoying it ever since 😌
Plus, sims 3 runs fairly well on my pc with mods but sims 4 was extremely buggy and laggy & I cut down on mods, but it’s just not fun without them. Literally became unplayable for me. I keep seeing YT’ers constantly being like “EA HINTS WE MAY FINALLY BE GETTING CARS” and it’s like…..this is the 50th time y’all have said that! Tired of hoping for more but any updates come with paying another $40 & it’s usually something that doesn’t enhance gameplay at all. Sims 3 isn’t perfect but I’ll take waiting a long time to load in when it means I get to avoid loading screens & get open world and lots of things to explore

Pixelade, Deli and James Turner seem the most likely to be EA's lapdogs imo. They've probably gotten those types of DM's asking to do damage control for them. Though Lilsimsie, Whiny Brit and LGR are probably the least likely.

this is so true! i was just thinking about how the sims 4 is just so dead inside. its so weird bc in a way the sims 3 was way before its time bc most people's computers couldnt run it back then (mine). I remember my little dell desktop couldnt even run more than a pack or two and our internet was terrible, i think we still had dial up or whatever came after dial up. but now my laptop can run it with mods and several packs. i remember my boyfriend at the time had a way superior computer bc his parents were tech savy and that was not common, you were lucky if you had a computer at all. he could run the game so well with all the packs and i was so jealous. but the sims 3 is most relevant now imo. its the best and i love your content.
