They said that they made a lot of quality of life changes and that was on of them. They just had a live stream showing the game

also the horrible platform on the safehouse vent is gone
The fact that you can move while aiming is a huge indicator that they've made a ton of improvements. The air duct on the rooftop also now has two staircases instead of a ledge that survivors had to climb up in the original, which was frustrating because they would often get stuck on each other.

Main thing I learned from this trailer was how good the original game looked.
The change in style feels worse in a lot of ways. Even ignoring Frank, everything looks off.

Well in the original Kent and Adam referred to Frank as gramps and old man or old sack of crap lol so maybe the voice change was to reflect the actual age of the character, but I get it TJ was everyone's childhood Frank West I just hope everybody will give this new guy a chance ❤

While I am certainly not a fan of the voice actor change or the way he looks, I think one of my biggest criticisms so far is how the game was presented in the trailer. I am not big on them leaning more toward a satirical campy tone. Also, am I the only one who thinks the music didn't match anything that was going on in the trailer? I honestly kind of wish they replicated the classic trailer from 2006. I kind of felt like I was watching a trailer for a game that more closely resembles a comedy instead of a semi-serious/satirical zombie survival game.

Since there’s likely not going to be much if any new lines of dialogue I wouldn’t be surprised if modders just use the original voice lines from the original game
Tbh I don’t know why they didn’t do that. Maybe licensing reasons? But in certain they couldn’t have just ported the lines over and ran them through audio enhancement programs. That’s what they did with the halo remasters and it worked like a charm

The new voice actor feels goofy and is in line with the tone of the modern Frank West we don't talk about. What makes the original voice acting is so great that the tone is serious while the line is cheesy.

I wish I could say the same…….. I’ve been wanting this for so long and now after it’s revealed I’m not excited for it. The voice acting is so bad, not just for frank either. God the voice acting is so terrible. Listen to that southern guy’s voice. They turned him into a cartoon redneck with a fake southern accent for literally no reason and Frank in general looks like Big Bird in most shots. The butcher has been “censored” as you can see in this trailer and you bets bet Jessie will be too.

Thank you for this and Ace Attorney Investigations in September. I think this will be game of the year for me in 2024. I hope you guys bring Megaman Legends 1 as a remake one day or at least release the classics on the Playstation store.

The Chuck Greene skin for Frank has me hopeful, it's an acknowladment of DR2, so if this does well hopefully it gets the same treatment.

Dead Rising was my first ever 360 game, I had the basic console with no hard drive so I couldn't even make a save till I saved up for a memory card but man did I have fun learning the game. Glad to see this remaster keep the og animations as much as possible.

Simple answer: Somebody was tasked with updating the graphics, but had zero oversight, so they put their own personal spin on everything. Nothing that mods won't surely fix within a week.

Thank you for keeping this franchise going Capcom. Dead Rising has a special place in my gamer heart, and I'll always give a new one a shot.
My thoughts (as a fan of the Deadrising franchise):
-the updated graphics looks good overall, but there are spots that look iffy. The dog’s fur looks like a carpet, but at least it looks better than the original, and some of the lighting looks overdone in some shots. Otherwise, it looks fine.
-I have mixed feelings on Frank West not being voiced by TJ. On one hand, it’s disappointing that he didn’t return to reprise his role, considering TJ is the definitive Frank West voice actor. On the other hand, having another voice actor for Frank West on hand would come in handy if TJ isn’t available for one reason or another. At least this new voice actor sounds better than DR4’s Fake West.
-I REALLY hope that the survivor AI is improved. The stupid survivors are the biggest reason why I have a hard time returning to the first game. One time, I gave a survivor a battle axe, but they ended up getting stun-locked to death by three zombies! And don’t get me started on that platform…
-the butcher psychopath looks different and I don’t really care to be honest.
-I have to wonder if the photographer guy makes a return. Considering his quest line involves having to take a very sexy photo and he didn’t show up in the trailer, it’s a toss up if he comes back.
-you can move AND shot at the same time! ‘Nuff said.

one thing that I think would be cool in this new dead rising deluxe remaster would be to add rain since the game will have this tension of day and night it would be cool to leave the shop and it would be raining or hear the sound of the rain inside the shop the thunder would be incredible

Very excited for this. The original game is definitely in my top 20 favourite games of all time no doubt. I was never a big fan of the sequels, but this is just perfect and is exactly what Deadrising fans and anybody new to the series needs.

Capcom hasn't fucked up really in a while. They are the most trusted AAA game studio out there. Even the minor complaints with DD2 and they came out ans fixed a lot real quick about the character creation and customization

But I honestly never thought it would happen. I wanna see how much they change since the game is so old and dated, hopefully the Survivors aren't brain dead
