    Any tips or tricks for someone heading to cold lake without any sonar? Would underwater cameras help me out at all when fishing for these lakers?

    • @weaversbentrods
      @weaversbentrods  9 месяцев назад +1

      I had a fella ask this same question not long ago and he tried it out and managed 6 fish on his first outing. Without sonar I would just pound the bottom 4-5 times and reel up drop down and repeat. Keep your bait moving and try to induce chases upwards and you will get hooked up!

    • @weaversbentrods
      @weaversbentrods  Год назад +1

      They are heavy rods. Best part about custom is we can make it how ever heavy a person wants it. The lake trout actually expelled the air pressure built up from their swim bladder as they come up from the depth. One of the few species that can do it. Without this they wouldn’t be able to swim back down

    • @HenriVineFishing
      @HenriVineFishing Год назад +1

      @weaversbentrods That's cool. I was thinking it had something to do with them being so deep and coming up quickly, but I didn't know they could expel the air on their own.
      For the rods I'll be checking the link in your description!

    I can only hope to catch as many as you did that day . Looks like you found the magic hole . Looked like a couple of them were close to being legal length, pretty rare in my trips there . I think I've only kept 2 fish in the past 5 years from there .

    • @weaversbentrods

      @@weaversbentrods In my opinion for all its worth , there should be a draw system for Cold Lake for 1 55 to 65 ctm Laker . Those 75 and over ones should not be kept . Just imagine the size of the fish then . Sure it's fun to catch them smaller ones , but I would rather catch and release 40 pounders .🤯
