The reason you can't open it is due to you not knowing the language, and the only student who does, doesn't wish to have anything to do with the dark arts. He uses the language one single time to learn what he wanted to know, he proved his point and entering the chamber would go against himself. Not all of Slytherin's family is bad.

parseltongue and the basilisk are not in the top 100 of evil things though why Rowling decided a disproportionate amount of evil wizards tended to use it thus making two very neutral things into darker reputations. Also it would've been a lot cooler if the player character did happen to speak parseltongue and learnt petrificus totalus from the basilisk...

Our student in legacy is simply a student who can see and harness ancient magic. This is Hogwarts legacy, not elder scrolls Hogwarts Skyrim. You're not some ancient wizard, that's also a Hufflepuff, that is also the heir of Slytherin, the prison of Azkaban, the minister of magic, and a pro quidditch player all at the same time. That pulls from the realism that is left in a fantasy game about magic, which is already unrealistic. Skyrim was a great game too, but there were far too many titles for the dragon born for it to make sense, and limiting us in Hogwarts just simply makes sense to ground the story. It may be an rpg open world game, but that doesn't mean we absolutely need everything just because we know it's there.

Then you have the option of house, if you somehow are a pure blood, you still have to be Slytherin in order to be a heir. Both ginny and Harry were able to open the chamber simply because Tom riddle helped them in both cases. Ginny with the diary which had his soul, and Harry with his soul as I said before. Neither of which our character has. The ancient magic is the special magic we have. Not even Voldemort seems to have those skills. That should be enough for you. The chamber of secrets is just overkill for legacy.
Fun fact: Rowena Ravenclaw helped the architect build Hogwarts, so the castle is ever changing every generation. Entire sections may be the same, but staircases here and there, floors will change to other sections, things like that. That’s how they justify where everything is and how the same location looks a little different in every movie
Rowling has said in interviews she has a notebook that says which floor everything is on and that if locations change it's for magic reasons and not her fuck ups lol
I think that’s why first years get so consistently lost. No one can find their way around the magic shifting castle. The movies actually came up with the idea of the changing staircases to dramatically highlight this aspect of the castle.
As far as I know, it wouldn’t break lore to OPEN the chamber of secrets, as it happens a few times before the movies. It would just be breaking lore to fight and kill the snake… seeing as… it needs to be alive lol.
I think an ominis DLC would do wonders for the game. Players love him and most prefer him over Sebastian, im not saying make it open the chamber, but do something with it. He's an heir to Salazar, more dark arts content would be lovely, especially with the nice blind guy and not the somewhat psychopath

I think they’ll break continuity so that the chamber of secrets can be a DLC later on. They said that HL was gonna be a long term game (think GTA V), so I’m sure we’ll get plenty of extra content

What I find interesting here is that... The whole castle map is rendered so there is no loading screen which makes it very very interesting to look at how smoothly the doors open...
hell, hogwart's floor plan changes between movies and the green houses being right there off the fountain room instead of out in the grounds, remember in the books they had to walk through snow to get to the greenhouses, shows that hogwarts likes to change its shape every now and then. like getting a new haircut, but for a castle.

I believe they are not gonna make a second one any time soon. With all the attention and money they made bc of the controversy the company decided to make it a GTA V/RDR2 for the future of the game. So they’ll definitely will add more DLCs and a Online feature as well

I think they’ll break continuity so that the chamber of secrets can be a DLC later on. They said that HL was gonna be a long term game (think GTA V), so I’m sure we’ll get plenty of extra content

hell, hogwart's floor plan changes between movies and the green houses being right there off the fountain room instead of out in the grounds, remember in the books they had to walk through snow to get to the greenhouses, shows that hogwarts likes to change its shape every now and then. like getting a new haircut, but for a castle.

I believe they are not gonna make a second one any time soon. With all the attention and money they made bc of the controversy the company decided to make it a GTA V/RDR2 for the future of the game. So they’ll definitely will add more DLCs and a Online feature as well

The Chamber can be opened by a parcel mouth an dhas been opened a few times before Tom Riddle. The Basilisk was put in a magical sleep bij Salazar Slytherin. And can only be woken up and controlled by his heir.
I don't remember the books and movies that well. Is it explained if have to want to wake up the basilisk you have to want it? Like for example, could Ominis go down there, knowing what's there and decide to not wake it up?

I wish they’ll add dlc in the future (they say they don’t plan to currently so it’s not off the table) and in that dlc you’ll be able to get Ominis to open the chamber of secrets for you to take on the Basilisk and maybe find a reference to the movie in there maybe Harry’s glasses or a diary or something
I like the idea but they wouldn’t be able to reference the movie since this game is set over a hundred years before the events of Harry Potter.

I don’t think it would break canon, I’ve read some lore and rumours and from what I know, the chamber of secrets was opened even before Tom Riddle. As of when I’m not entirely sure, but it would be close to the time frame of the game.
There is prolly nothing down there, I'm sure devs wouldn't have spend extra time designing and making a chamber of secrets with a basilisk inside, it's just a set piece
If you are in Slytherin house, there's 2 sets of stairs in the common room that make a slide trying to walk up because the basilisk slithers on by.

They never said it wasn't open before they said last it got open it was 50 years ago. It doesn't mean it didn't got open at 1700 to 1800. So basically let's agree to disagree that the chamber of secrets can be open at that time too because there is a legend and its exist. But not at this game. Maybe later I'd love to play Harry Potter games again if they make a remastered version for the games.

Remember when it was opened during harrys time at the school it was not the first time it was opened. The previous time it was opened was when riddle was a kid. I think they said it was like 100 years before harrys time which according to timeline would line up to this game as this is 100 yrs before hp timeline
