The timing was terrible with the palestinian/israel conflict and the EMAS got cancelled, they scrapped the training season video due to its war-ish nature, and shot a quick video for houdini instead. I’m guessing they were banking on the conflict being over and being able to use the video just.. down the line? But obviously it’s still going on and they needed to release it as a single and so… instead of that big budget banger.. we got two rushed, low concept, low budget videos
Houdini yes, it's a low budget video but the concept is really good, connected with the lyrics. It's also an answer to those who judged her for her dancing skills.

Car explosion video would’ve been guys, in a battleground setting going through training (fighting, driving, crashing etc etc) to try and be good enough. i feel like that would’ve fit nicely
dua said in interviews that songs like training season and houdini arent as psychodelic and "weird" as the deep cuts, cuz they still had to have the structure and form required to be promoted as singles. apparently the deep cuts are going to be much more psychodelic and experimental
I love this song more than Houdini. I think she worked with Tame Impala for this album or I think just Houdini but I think you can here more of Tame Impala's influence on this track more. This song also reminds me of something of Kylie Minogue might sing.
I like that she performed training season live before streaming, it was great marketing to get us to watch her perform live to hear the new track and we were familiar with the song when it dropped so it allowed us to pay attention to the recording production
Song is amazing. I only wish climax was bigger since the chorus is an anti-drop chorus. The pre-chorus and post-chorus are amazing tho. The Music Video on the other hand... needed more scenes, at least after the first chorus. At least 2-3 scenes. But it had cool moments like the ending when everything spins
