I love cardboard stand ups, especially Dead of Winter. They just blend in better with the total art direction of the board and other accessories. Miniatures are cool too, but they take me out of the game somewhat more when a great 3d figure is crawling through a hand drawn cardboard dungeon; there's more of a disconnect. When the stand up art matches the art of the board and cards, it's just a great complete package for me.
To me Handpainted Minis > Prepainted Minis > Standees > Grey Minis. And since I know tom doesn't paint his minis I don't understand why he loves them so much.
Card board standees are awesome. Love the old school feel of them. I wish more game companies used good looking standees instead of plastic these days.
The humidity here is really hard on cardboard components. When it comes to cardboard components, I've pretty much got to the point where I just go with my own, when I can. I started with a bunch of Korean Won coins from when I lived in Korea and now I have bags of metal coins from all over to use in place of card board tokens. I also have old heroclix figures that work great as player tokens. The base counters are often useful. You can still buy 25 for $13 or 75 for $40 on Amazon. Dump them in a box and just pick the ones you want for whatever game you play. At first it was something I had to do, because oft handled components fell apart, but now I just like it more and I can keep my games longer.
Cool Stuff Inc is selling the game for $47.49, with it apparently retailing normally at $69.99. How do they think they can sell a game for that much with components that are so shoddy? Also, don't like cardboard standups because the threat of soda ruining cards and such is normally high on games, on a game like this one soda can ruin a $70 game.
Cyndane Tierney If you were an european like me...you'd be used with the overprincing of games coming overseas...we're paying a lot...and now that Euro is down...it's even more...but this game" is really cool, i've found it a cool system and if you hgave generic minis you can pump it easily. I will post my pump pic on bgg one day.
I don't mind that the game uses cardboard standees over plastic miniatures. I think the character art would lose a certain something if it were presented in a 3D space with minis. Also, Ugly Snouts Assault had a dungeon master mode. Doesn't Night of the Badly Dead have one too?
I don't get that, why these super powers don't charge with "one sword", to counterbalance good luck. This seems like you either roll stars or you are getting screwed.
While I could see the game as a candidate for pimping it out given the standups, it seems a bit overpriced at the moment, and I for one am not so sure what I think of co-ops as of yet. So I'll probably pass on this one. If after I play some of the co-ops I already have a little more and I get stoked on them, maybe I'll revisit this one, but for now it won't be making it to my want list.
"Stand ups are okay, and the keep the cost down" But the msrp is $69.90!!!! The game would have been successful ten years ago. The glaring truth is this is a total ripoff of Super Dungeon explore, yet with terrible components and artwork. There is no reason to purchase this, when there are other games on the market that are better in every way.

i've bought a lot of minis to replace every characters in the previous game and i will in this one also
The components in this game are just fine.

Its a lot cheaper in Europe, so maybe its because of overseas distribution?

A gif with Sam pumping is coming :D
Disney will probably eventually copyright strike this for saying "Lightsaber."

Stand ups need to be at least the same quality level as the dungeon twister ones.

LucasArts is pretty much dead (1982-2012). The mouse killed them, and in its place is a skeleton of what once was.

LucasArts was already dead before Disney acquired the rights.
azraelswrd Is it badly dead?
