My mother told me a story from when she was first going to work; taking a bus home and saw a guy staggering all over the pavement. Everyone was "tsk tsk he's a drunk". Guy fell down, didn't get up, bus driver stopped the bus; and mother and bus passengers decided best to check; turns out he was an undiagnosed diabetic and had gone into a coma. If they'd just ignored him, he'd probably have died on the street.

Here’s a story from my dad who was a paramedic at the time: So he and his truck where driving back to the station and ended up deciding to get gas instead so they had to make another turn or two, so they get to a stop light (It’s 2am just outside of the centre of the city) there’s some guys leaving a bar my dad and the other dudes on the truck notice but don’t think something is gonna happen. Then, boom a fight breaks out. Ok this is normal they see blood so they call it in and respond to the scene. One of the guys (The one who started the fight and is the most beaten up) won’t stop moving and nothing is working to restrain him. Everybody’s just annoyed at this guy he’s in restraints but yelling and being annoying. One of my dads friends who is the perfect example of a gentle giant gets called onto scene. The dudes like 6’6 but he’s super nice and is super cool. He sees my dads there and can here the guys being loud and he wanted to go talk to my dad so before entering he put on a super serious face and when the dude was talking over him and my dad he just looked at him. My dad said the guy shut up for the rest of the ride. I just find that funny, the main bad one I know is about something some people might have heard of, If you know about Brenda Cowan. She was a first responder In Kentucky and on a call was shot and killed by a man. My father was there. His cousin was there (They are both very close). That day broke my dad down. He blames himself for her death. It sucks.
    Edit: Spelling :/

I am so and truly sorry for your Dad. Nothing will ever take that feeling of guilt from him unless he gets therapy and still such a traumatic experience of that magnitude... First responders from the past have been completely overlooked for PTSD. They were left to their own demise, consequently they often have / are living with a severed personal perception of life and difficulties to receive love and compassion, that left a scar in their married life and

My friend is a paramedic, only stories I have is us drinking ourselves stupid every Saturday so he can cope with the horrors of his job, then at last call, going to our cars, we rig up a saline pack and insert the syringe into our Arma, slowly squeeze the whole pack into the bloodstream and bam! Sober as a judge in 5 minutes. It's a handy trick to know about. Just don't squeeze the pack too hard lol.

3 years ago we moved to a touristy small town near a river and a HUGE sports park. We'd been there about month when a cop saw us sitting on the porch and pulled into our driveway. Apparently, some froot loop stole the line chalker from the sports park & he walked all through our neighborhood for blocks around leaving several long lines on the street in different directions. The cops had been trying to catch the thief by following the lines! I laughed until I had tears in my eyes! Poor cop just blushed and drove away. I don't know if they caught the guy or not.

Sometimes, I like to listen to the police scanner. A couple years ago, in the middle of the night, on Christmas Eve, the dispatcher told the cops on duty that there were reports of a caucasian male breaking into multiple homes, though no items had been reported stolen. The suspect was described as an overweight man with a white beard and red clothing, who gained entry into the homes via the chimney and escaped using a sleigh pulled by magical flying reindeer. I hope the police had a good laugh about it. I certainly thought it was funny.

My dad had Night-watch duty in Basic Training, one night one of his fellow trainees was sitting in the middle of the aisle that separated the rows of bunks (Think of the Hall in "Full Metal Jacket"), just staring at the particle-foam ceiling panels. he went to get his Drill Sargent as he didn't respond to being called. The young man was just staring off when the Drill Sgt yelled his name. The only response was "The stars are lovely tonight, don't you see them spinning, Sargent ___ (Sargent's name)?" Turns out the recruit was dismissed out of B.T. due to having a mental break from the training. The young man's mind literally broke under the training, and he wasn't even a "Screw-up". The vacant stare of this guy is burnt in my dad's memory as the Medics took him out.
My dad told me a lot of stories in the USAF. Nothing top secret though, even though he was stationed in Langley. (he said he had seen some things, but if he told me, he'd have to kill me as he took an oath. it was over 40 yrs ago so its probably common tech now.)

I heard this one like third hand via my federal law enforcement father. But the way I understand it two "rocket scientists" came into Taco Bell during the lunch rush and pulled guns to rob the place. Two plain clothes detectives right behind them pulled their guns and put them against the back of the heads of the rocket scientists. You see this particular Taco Bell was located next to the police academy. There were something like 36 arresting officers, many making their first arrest.

As a teenager 50 years ago. My friends and I were running around for fun. I ran through a red light . I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a police car turning around with lights on. Since he was far behind us so I took off. He was catching up fast. I made several quick turns. Saw a house with the garage door open. I whipped into the garage. Ducked down as the officer drove by not seeing my car. We sat in my car for about 15 minutes. When I thought enough time has passed I backed out of the garage and took off the opposite way the officer was going. He never did catch me.

To the story that begins at 15:13
The person who responds saying that the OP should have gone back to that particular Walmart location because he/she would have been safe due to the ‘bad guy’ having been banned from said store; I just have to tell you that while, the person in question may have had a “ban,” from that location, if the incident occurred in a small town, like mine.(4,300 people.) Asset protection couldn’t do anything about someone with a ban entering the store such as call the police without risking their job. Walmart was/is the only grocery, clothing, and really basic necessities store in our town. And actually the only one within a 40 mile radius. Which means stores of the aforementioned size need every single customer they can get, and really the customers need the store even more than it needs them.
Source: Walmart employee for 3+ years.

Have another story for you. As a teenager I was driving around with my girlfriend . It was at night, I was pulled over by a police officer. I failed to dim my headlights. The officer walked up to my car and shown his flashlight inside. Once he saw my girlfriend he was no longer worried about me. My girlfriend was well endowed , good looking and wearing short shorts with a tight shirt . Remember we were teenagers. Anyway there we're 3 beers sitting in plain sight on the front seat. He never saw them as he was focused on my girlfriend. Then he said to me just remember to dim your headlights when a car is coming towards you at night. He shown his flashlight on my girlfriend one more time . Then walked away .

abou the how did you get away from the cops question
i was riding my 50ccm scooter but with a stolen plate in the middle of the night
as usual i was watching out for cop cars but i must have missed one
that cop car was behind me at a red light and after we both started driving as the light turned green they signaled me to stop
now when you get stopped here for any reason whatsoever they check your plates and your VIN so i was fekd either way and decided to run
went through some gap that was too narrow for a car and went basically into a field
killed the engine and pushed the scooter out the other side and then parked it there and left my helmet
since it was too dark they cant possibly identify my clothes or any other features and my scooter could have been any scooter of that type
if anything they could run the plate and that would not lead back to me

THEFT PRO TIP: gas stations typically only have $60 in the register. Everything else gets dropped in the safe. You can get at most $60 in twenties from the safe for change which engages a time to lock out for more withdrawals. Supposing 2 registers, and no lockout, the most you can walk away with $180..... Is your freedom worth just $180?

    • @cosmonation1840
      @cosmonation1840 2 года назад

Gas stations around here accept and give (for change) $10's, $5's & $1's. Register have to have more than $60. What if I need $25 in gas and all I have is $100 bill? Will the attendant tell me "sorry about your luck, can't get gas here?" Never will that happen.. So.....the gas station can write me an IOU for $15 and give me the $60 in twenties... then....what? Only credit/debit cards and exact dollar payments accepted after that because they have no change?
Your $60 register theory can't work for a couple obvious reasons. Robbing a gas station is idiotic, without a doubt, but you can definitely get more than $60 per register, let's not forget you can also grab everything off the roller grill and all the oooey-gooey nacho cheese you can fit in your pockets... thats real

This was about 6 years ago, I had an airsoft rifle I didn’t use anymore so I sold it on ebay. I was given a rifle carrying case and while in route to the post office I get stopped by a local cop. I explained to him about the sale showed him the add and correspondence with the buyer and he drives me to the post office and stands there with me. Immediately he gets a call on the radio, about me, he tells them that it was a toy, and that I was shipping it since it was sold on eBay. I became irate because in NY freedom is illegal and the next thing I said was “what happened to the Second Amendment?” Packages up the toy M14 and left and went home. That whole ordeal because NY is a communist shithole and some asshole called the cops because I “looked disgruntled and carried a shotgun”
