I have the Hitachi HXP two tool combo kit half inch drill/driver & 14” impact driver, they never let me down. Then I added to my collection a Metabo HPT IP 56 18v/36v impact driver with two 36v 4Ah batteries & charger with built in fan. I use it driving deck screws. You made a wise choice for the money. Keep’m coming

    Some quick notes
    Video is NOT sponsored
The 2nd gen drill is definitely louder and faster than the first gen
1st gen drill and impacts are slimmer but longer

I think your right on that. Like that they stepped up their game here.

Metabo HPT and German Metabo both have some great tools. People tend to overlook them.

They should have just called Metabo HPT, Hikoki like they do everywhere else. It really hurts there marketing here in the US.

Dude thank you so much for this review! This is the only actual UNBOXING video I could find on this kit. Currently deciding between this for $130 (w/ $10 off coupon) at CPO Outlet, or the M18 drill/driver kit on sale at Home Depot for $99.
I'm heavily leaning towards the Metabo for the added value of getting the impact at such a low price. Plus TWO 2.0Ah batteries. I also like the look and color, and wanna try something a bit more "unique". The M18 is a little better as a drill though in terms of performance. Not that the Metabo wouldn't have all the power I'd ever need anyway. I also like the look of the grip on the Metabo, seems like it has great ergonomics and would feel very good in the hand.
Only thing I'm a little concerned about us the warranty. As in the actual SERVICE. Milwaukee may have better actual service, which would make the warranty process easier. But that's just speculation honestly.

It's wild just how good of a value this kit is, Metabo HPT has a real winner here!

Metabo HPT is the most consistently impressive brand in terms of performance + price IMO. Ergonomics are as good as anyone's, power is more than adequate for all their brushless 18v and 36v tools.

All they need to do is expand there tool line and also get into OPE and they would be a real force in the tool world!

@@UltimateToolReviews And they also should change the name to Hikoki here. They do need to put more tools out in NA, but the core pieces--drills, saws, grinders, nail guns--are first rate. I use tools from other brands, and Dewalt used to be my main brand (still buy Dewalt on deep sale), but the HPT stuff works just as well for my jobs so I look there first for overall value. And the Gen 1 18v Triple Hammer is my fav 18v impact, period.
Keep up the good work on the channel.

I own a lot of hpt. They need to do me a favor and upgrade the oscillating tool. It's very bad.

I believe that these are the new updated regular brushless models, not the new subcompacts. I have the older regular models & these have the same specs but in an updated skin like the new bolt triple hammer but for the impact & drill. Major difference is the back cap thats screwed on to the clamshell of the tool like most of Makita. The old subcompacts are still being sold with the updated 2.0 batteries. I just picked up another subcompact impact & drill kit with the 2.0 batts for $67 a few weeks ago. Crazy value for sure. I saw this kit with the new bolt triple hammer finally in Lowes stores recently. But these arent the new subcompacts, just the new updated 18v regular/non premium set. Best value tho IMO. Thanks for sharing & making this video, these are great tools & would be my pic over Makita in terms of quality/performance & ergonomics!!
