Nice update on pay👍. Couple questions for you: 1. Do you have apu? 2. Do you have (or they allow) fridge, inverters? 3. Did they offer you any special schedules like 4 on 4 off etc? You should definitely try to make some more vids/vlogs👍😊
1. Yep I run the optimized idle during the night so I can run the apu. But the truck automatically starts itself up after like 6 hours and always wakes me up 😭. 2. Yep truck comes with an inverter but you have to buy your own fridge. I have one with a freezer it’s massive lmao 3. And yeah my schedule for running 48 states is generally 4 weeks out 4 days off. I’d like to do vids of backing up but idk how to setup the cameras yet 😂
i was actually thinking about coming on with heartland express at some point. they do seem to have alot of options when it comes to regions you want to run etc. couple questions. 1. since Heartland bought out CFI, Smith transport, and some other companies do you guys have access to these other companies terminals? 2. What is starting pay here? i'm an experienced driver with close to 3 years under my belt thanks again!
1. Yes Heartland does have access to the other terminals and drop yards. I’m not too familiar with them but I’ve been to a Millis terminal and some CFI drop yards. 2. Idk the exact cpm but if you ran 48 states with 3 years experience I’m going to guess 0.57cpm
Hey what’s up man! I’m single and have no family in the us, so I decided to be a truck driver I’m in my last week with road masters and going to get my cdl next week, I’m looking into different options, do you think being available so much time like not taking home time at all or maybe a week or two a year, do you think that would help with getting more miles and more consistent miles available to the 48 states and also pay related do you know how much they start right now and also if you may how the raises are once you start getting your experience, also I’m from Phoenix too
Hey there! Ok so before I get into things, I’m not sure if you can get hired on with Heartland as a new driver. Call a recruiter and see what they say. I went through Heartland’s training program and was locked into a 1 year contract. And being available can help get more miles, but you kinda gotta prove yourself and show you can be reliable before you start getting the really long runs. On 48 states a new driver will start at 0.54cpm and it goes up 1¢ per year for like the first 5-10 years or somethin
@@connorhuntington thank you so much for replying!, about the miles that’s cool but 1 cent a year is nothing, thanks again I’ll keep exploring but still I’ll co wider this company
when I drove for Heart Break express we were not permitted to idol the truck unless it was xtreamly cold or hot ,is it still that way......and we never got detention pay, they kept it
I’ve never been told I can’t idol. My first truck had the optimized idol feature so I could run the a/c with it turned off. But the truck I’m in now doesn’t have that feature so I just idol if it’s too hot. And I’ve never had a problem with detention pay, as long as you put it in they always approve it
@@connorhuntingtonthat’s what they take advantage of. I would apply for hazmat, mail delivery, port and tanker jobs in your area. You’ll take home 2K a week. Some carriers will take a guy with no experience, but you need to run from heartland.
I’m not exactly sure. I know they pay more for up to 20 years experience, but idk what it maxes out at. And then they pay the trainers more but then you have to train 😂
I’m at 0.54cpm right now. I have another video that’s more in depth about the different pay for the different regions and also talks about the pay protection
Sorry I never saw this comment. I guess it filtered it differently since it’s in the replies. And I’m in my first year, but they offer raises up to 20 years experience. And I’m not sure if west pays more. It seems like they pay more for the longer you’re away from home

Hey man how fast are yall trucks ? And do you all have in cab cameras?
Generally 68mph and no cameras. However, new drivers like myself are 64mph with a camera for the first year

Do they give you a agility test and a physical when you go to training. Or do they just use the physical you have to get your permit.
Nope, just the DOT physical. I’d say the most “physical” thing you’ll have to sometimes do is getting in and out of the trailer to sweep it out
Thats good. Im in my fifties. Im not much on the athletic thing anymore.@@connorhuntington
@@timothyturbo2it’s all good. You should see the shapes of some of these guys at the truck stops. You’ll be fine
Lol. Im about 340. When I was in good shape. I was about 265. God just made me a big guy.@@connorhuntington
@@timothyturbo2just remember when you get out here it’s pretty easy to put on weight. Still gotta be able to move around a little bit
What kinda home time do you get
It’s generally 1 day for each week you are out
how do they pay you for orientation? when do get it?
It would probably pay on Friday the next week after orientation
Did you go straight out of school?
Heartland hired me on straight out of school. But the school was done by them and I was in a 1 year contract
Do they provide a match for retirement?
They do offer 401k I’m not sure the exact numbers on it
It doesn’t matter what others say, if they cared enough they’ll write you a check but words are cheap, you’re getting it done.
Yeah there’s always gonna be some comments. But I’ve been loving the job and it’s more money than I’ve ever made 💯

Solid employer
Make it a challenge to become a road master / driver recruiter 😎 $3000 per successful new driver
Yeah I like them. I’ve had a couple people contact me about going through the training program. $3000 for a referral would be pretty nice!
Need to clean your camera lense
Idk. 4K a month net pay seems too low for otr. 5k net is justifiable. Unless I’m not paying rent, otr doesn’t seem worth it.
Yeah I could understand that. As a new driver I’m pretty happy with it for now
@@connorhuntington I’m used to taking home 3800 a month and being home everyday as a dock worker maxed out. What’s max pay as a truck driver there
I’m not exactly sure. I know they pay more for up to 20 years experience, but idk what it maxes out at. And then they pay the trainers more but then you have to train 😂
THEY START OFF AT .52 CPM RIGHT?
It all depends on what region you run, but OTR out for 4 weeks starts at 0.54cpm. If you have experience it’ll be higher
Otr has gone down hill I am glad for ltl 80 cpm home everyday gross 128,000 a year.
Nice
How much do they pay you per mile?

Are heartland manual trucks 10 speed
I’m actually not sure on that sorry
