    You don’t have antenna on the remote because you already have antennas on the goggles. The connection this time is between the goggles and the drone, its the reason why the remote is lighter than the previous version. Its quite a big difference between the two Avatas regarding transmission

    Signal usually drops and recovers when there’s interference on the frequency that the drone is currently on, so it hunts for a new one with minimal interference. 🤟🏼
    And yeah, as someone else mentioned, this controller communicates with the goggles only and they communicate with the drone. 🙂

  • @NBSTL68
    @NBSTL68 Месяц назад

    Soooo.... Wow, why does DJI post this thing has an 8 MILE range (no wind at sea level and a few other specific settings), when it really comes nowhere close to that? Some serious false advertising.
    Also, would you be able to dive down and buzz one of those houses or zip down the street at a low level that far out or would you lose connectivity with the altitude drop even though you have basically a clear line of site from up that high?

    I really don't understand how you guys get so good signal with the Avata 2 :(. I am in Europe with the FCC hack, and I was barely able to reach 1900m with multiple near complete RC signal loss flying in a straight line at 120m in a place with no interference whatsoever and no trees. At the same exact spot, I was able to fly my mini 4 pro using the goggles and remote to the same 1900m distance without losing a single signal bar and only flying at 50m. In regular usage, signal strength is even way worse, and I can completely lose the avata 2 only a few hundred meters from me. Signal penetration is atrocious, and I'm always scared a single bush will completely disconnect my avata 2 😔

I'm currently studying for my part 107, I already have 6 DJI drones, & a Autel Evo Lite + Premium Bundle, that I received june 18th, and haven't opened it yet. I just ordered the Avata 2 Fly More Combo yesterday. I have the Original DJI FPV Drone, & I still love my potatoe. Ive never flown in acro, but im going tostart practicing on a sim.

    Interesting as not tried my Avata 2 yet as just rains every day, but with the first DJI FPV in manual mode although it was not really a range test as the max distance was around 1.4km but with a few loops rolls and dives at around 72mph I got about 6min out of it when it I decided to put in into RTH but when it was about 30m away from me I lost signal to googgles and no image at at all and I thought it may of just dropped, but it turned out that although I lost signal at 30m the SD card on the drone showed that it that did a slow powered soft landing and there were no light comming on the battery when pressed button on it. Was lucky that day it landed on land and not in cow dung and not 30m in other direction over the sea. I don't know if new Avata 2 will just autatically put a stop to manual manouvers and automatically go to RTH and actually get it home based on return distance and power required to get back. I assumed their first FPV would but was wrong.

    That’s awesome range on the avata 2. I want to do a long range test on my avata 2 here in Australia. There’s plenty of places just a few hours drive from where I live. I might bring my 7” LR fpv quad and use it as a comparison. I have the DJI electronics on it as well but with a larger battery. I managed 7 km range with my LR fpv quad. But I was being cautious and I’m sure it’ll go to around 10-12km.

    The antennas are in the goggles, the controller only has a very mild RF signal that links to the goggles. You probably were getting interference from maybe either a wifi signal or mobile phone tower. I’ve had mine go to 3500 metres and it went into auto return to home mode, and I just let it do that. By the time it got back home it still had about 20% battery left. I’d only cycled it about 2 times before I flew it, so I know that after a few more cycles it should be able to go further before it goes into automatic return to home mode. I was using the motion controller 3 as I only had that at the time. For more distance you need to fly straight out and back, not going indirectly to your long range attempts.

    I live down in Florida so my long distance flights are usually over water! Not by choice of course lol I noticed in your video that your RC link dropped lower than your video link. I thought the video link is usually the first thing to go. Also, when I start getting around 20 GBPS I usually turn around. Someone told me that you get better range with the RC3 then the motion controller. Is that true? One last thing have you ever pushed the drone to the point where it fails saved and returned to home on its own. I would love to push it to its limits, I just want to be able to know if I can trust the return to home function. That is also one of the reasons why I bought this drone, because my regular FPV quads I just cannot trust as much as a DJI built drone. When everything works fine on my FPV drones it's a great world, but there are times when it fails safes and doesn't do what it's supposed to do so there is a lack of trust for sure! Just wondering what your thoughts are on this thank you excellent video buddy!

  • @jaybomb5022
    @jaybomb5022 3 месяца назад

    Make sure you increase the goggle FOV setting.
    Also, that red flickering of the RC signal is the goggles changing to a cleaner band.
    Itll let you know there are no more clear bands by coming home.

  • @chriscflint
    @chriscflint 4 месяца назад

    The RC sends the info to the goggles and they send it to the drone and the link is from the goggles to the drone. The RC does not need antennae as it only needs to worrk with the goggles. Which are generally close to you and turned on. The battery you need to be careful of is the goggles battery.

  • @pianomans1
    @pianomans1 4 месяца назад

    I thought that with the new goggles three and whichever controller you use that the controller communicates through the goggles and the antennas on the goggles communicate the RC and the video signal with the drone. That's why there's no antennas on the controllers. I believe I heard this on a mad tech video, But I still wonder why your RC link is failing before the video.

    Why does the Avata 2 execute a forced landing due low battery? Doesn’t it have a RTH feature?
    Also, when you are trying to extend range, you should fly downwind. Aircraft terminology PNR (Point of No Return) refers to the point an aircraft needs to turn back to home with the fuel available, factoring in wind. PNR moves “into” wind. So basically if you fly into wind, the turnaround point is closer to you, but if you fly downwind, the turnaround point is further from you.

    • @one1up894
      @one1up894 4 месяца назад

      Is it because it doesn’t have environmental data? Because as per above, the environmentals change the PNR so it is no longer equal distant there and back.
