Installing Walmart Underglow

- In this video I am installing an Alpena LED Command Underglow kit on my 2020 WRX. I will show you how I have the wiring ran if you plan on doing this to your wrx or a similar car. I was pleasantly surprised by the final result and would recommend these!

ive always loved neons way back from the 90s will always look good
i remember back in 2005 i got my first neon underglow kit, and my parents still did not have internet at home, so i had to special order it from a carquest lol
Underglow done right looks good to me, I plan on going for a little more pricey kit and run white under my Magnetite Grey STI 😀.

What do you do when you want to go through a car wash?
Never had an issue at the car wash or in rain. The lights and connections are water proof!

U can't have solid red or solid blue on. Wisconsin you can have any color but those colors. And it's weird cus all red isn't a cop color and it's bogus

Hey bro I’m from Pennsylvania to I’m curious, it’s legal to drive with the red underglow? Cuz I have my light but idk if I can installed for that reason !!! Please help me
Unfortunately in Pennsylvania it is illegal to drive on the public roadway with them turned on. You can have them lit up in parkinglots and such but not on the road
U could have just ordered the actuall kit from eBay for mad cheap

I had issues with them because I routed 2 kits to 1 controller. I definitely don't think they're worth the money if I'm being honest, there's much nicer kits on the market for the same price
I basically just did the same thing today, with the same kit. It worked at first but now it doesn’t shut off, nor does the red work ( it shows pink when I hit red) When I hit the master on off button it just switches the color from blue to white. I connected both kits into one of the power boxes. Is that how you did it? I’m not sure why it’s not working correctly.
Yeah I connected everything to one power box. I don't think it's your kit thats the problem I think its the app. I tried emailing them. I've been having similar issues, when I try to turn them on sometimes it won't connect. When it does connect and I turn them on as you said it won't let me turn them off and I have to restart the app and reconnect, and I no longer have a white color, when I switch to white light it appears dark orange. And my whole system is probably half as bright as the day I put it on. And I have hardly used them.
So the company finally got back to me. Supposedly it’s not working properly because of only one of the power boxes. They claim that the lights are too long for just one box to handle. I threw one of the boxes away. Oops. Lol
@@zackeryshoot2605 Crap. I sort of worried that might be the issue. I have the second box but I used it for engine bay lighting lol. They should've made the box stronger or the strips longer then because they look kinda bad just using one kit for the whole car and the extension cables weren't even long enough for my car if I only would've used one kit. I would've had to buy their expensive extension cables or hardwire them. Lol
They definitely should of made them longer. I’m not sure why people think dark spots next to a light spot is okay, because it’s not. I have a 2015 Wrx so I know the struggle.
so i bought underglow and i want to
put it on my wrx it’s one that plugs into the cigarette outlet, but I have to run it from the outside of the car to the inside of the car. What’s the easiest way to go about that is there a hole that leads from the outside to the inside the car
I know there's a few holes that go through the firewall in the engine bay to the inside of the car through rubber grommets that you could push the wires through, otherwise you may have to run it through the fender liner and in through the door jamb
you can take apart the plug that goes to the cigarette lighter and it will just have you positive and negative wires then use a add a fuse to get your power
@@markrod3850 yeah they make a fuse box basically that you install and you connect that to your battery. Then the box has about 8 positive and negative connections each with its own fuse. And you can control it with a pad you keep in your car. They make them for off road vehicles with light ars and wenches and all that stuff but it would work on a subie all the same.
