Anyone else trying to figure out if there’s a hidden coded message with the mic holder changes?? [C]up, [S]lide, [P]ig, [P]ad? [?] [R]ail … No? Just me?
I don't normally comment but I just have to tell you guys that the sure start is hands down one of the best investments I've ever made for my board. Easy install works like a champ! I've had 3 people ride my board after installing and all 3 of them went and got one the same day.
@@TheFloatLife I can 100% vouch for this too. I built an entire GT with all addons and a SureStart. I rode the board brand new ( never rode farther than 100 feet) I rode the board in the timed qualifier and semi-finals at Shredfest, having never ridden the course for practice, and never had a GT before... and it gave me confidence and the pad sensor engagement was flawless!! (Jeff, I showed you my orange dipped rail badge on my WTFs)
Great list! “Flat Kick” footpads were the solution for me, and killed two birds with one stone - I didn’t like how inflexible my foot positioning felt on the concave pads (let alone ghosting/activation issues, both of which I had pre- and post-recall, respectively). So, while after all that I was a bit bitter giving FM more money for yet another set of pads, I was ultimately glad I did!
These types of videos are fantastic. It shows the different options available, even stuff that doesn't get sold by you, but it's building the brand reputation along with showing the community the ways to do things without royally screwing themselves (and not being able to buy aftermarket stuff). I love all your content. The trick tutorials, the follow me series, the scenic ride sessions, the lunch runs, rep your set, how to assemble, pod/vlogcast, and even the long form videos that are practically documentaries. Each brings a different element that either teaches about the sport in some fashion or just shows what is possible, with enough tries to get it. Also, the collabs with other creators are great, whether with Flux Mvmnt, Braile Riding, or Scot Mendenhall and Friends. The beanie baby mic holder might have been my favorite in the mix. Also, I love the baseball-inspired shirts. I didn't know you had those until this video. I scurried right over and picked up the Oakland inspired one, as I grew up a fan. Now that I live in Arizona, the shape of the A has changed, it leans more and is definitely more bitey, but I still catch the A's games when I can.
The easiest way really is to activate single zone in the zone engagement settings. Open OW app -> tap settings in riding profile -> scroll down to zone engagement -> select single zone. Done! Starting is way easier and this setting does not affect heel lift stopping
Right on time, got my GT 3 days ago and having sensor activation issues. Told FM the issue and asked if I could just buy a front flack kick pad. Nope, they said they only sell in a set. Gonna give the gripples a try. Thanks!
I had huge problems activating my gt, furniture coasters has worked perfectly for me, works 100 times out of a 100, not one time has it not activated and ofc use black coasters and it's possible to use some very small ones so it doesn't look as bad.
@@TheFloatLife were they the V4s though? I've heard from lots of people that the V3s and earlier had issues that have been fixed with the 4s. I've got about 500 miles on my pad now with flawless activation.
Great vid! Option 5 indeed not recommended i messed up my new footpad in the first weekend riding it on trail.probably a little sharp stone pierced the sensor 😢
I'm a few months new @ 300 miles on a euro-posi w/ simple stop, and it's never ghosted on me. I jump off sometimes as well. Never had a missed start with it. I think this is an easy method for beginners. I'm about ready to upgrade to a SureStart when those low riders come in. I like the smart options it offers.
I thought the two sensor operation switches into a one sensor operation above 1 mph. Maybe I am wrong, but isn't the two sensor operation just for activating and deactivating the. board's motor below 1 mph ?
I really want to transplant a sensor onto my 65 bit Retro Kushpad for the GT. Would it be better to transplant the stock fm sensor or use a single zone sensor?
Does the Euro POSI have any negative effects as to shorting out the control board? I did this mod and on the first ride, my board disengaged mid ride and wouldn’t turn back on. Sent it to FM and had to get the control board replaced
@@TheFloatLife alrighty!! Just wanted to make sure. Sounds like it was just a coincidence… I’ll do it again when I get my board back from FM😂 appreciate the response
I didn't like the furniture coasters, and the Gripples didn't exist yet, so I just got a roll of Velcro Tape, sliced off six inches at a time, and stuck it to the edges of the griptape. It diffuses pressure inward beneath my Size Fifteens, and almost looks like it's actually supposed to be there. That's on my GT. On my XR, I just added some ShredWings; those work too.
So my GT started doing this around 95 miles. I noticed one of the two T25 machine screws underneath that holds the front footpad down was missing. I put a screw back in it, and it seemed to fix the issue. Because my foot pad was slightly loose it caused activation issues.
Great explanations Jeff! ☠️@ your edits Julian, ty 😂 still wish FM would make the flat front footpad a stock GT option in configuration. I have size 15 feet, have over 8k miles, and the stock GT front concaves are 100% an issue and liability for anyone with over size 12 feet. Took spills on tiny curb drops and flatland spins due to engagement cutoff & immediately bought front FM flat footpads (wish I could just get front from FM) which fixed all main issues (outside of need for posi, which should be an option (along w/ deactivation delay) in GT firmware update, just like simple stop) @onewheel
Even with the euro posi setup, my GT will turn off on about 20% of my drops, even the average curb, nothing huge. It's enough to make it unreliable. I'll install the SS Pro eventually, but first I have to work through my anger issues that the GT has this problem in the first place.
I know it's not great news if you're trying to sell products, but my GT sensor has been fault free from day one. Weird side note though, my serial number was eligible to have the pad replaced for ghosting issues, but I've just never had any problems. Replacement pad is sitting in my crawlspace. Pint X though - sensor doesn't pick up every launch. My GT has yet to miss one.
After a grip change my Pint X activation was so bad that I had to remove one plastic layer, add some grip tape strips and euro posi all at the same time to fix it. Not saying I recomment it... I hope the Floatwheel sensor is good.
Hey guys does anyone know if the “Posi” trick with bridging the thin wire from one hole to the adjacent hole will work for a Pint? I’ve been having front sensor pads for a while and would like to Posi the whole footpad. I think i read theres a way to solder certain parts to do this but I’m not really interested in that route.
See Also: Rewheel if you have an OG pint. They have a free software option that gives it posi when you first get on so you can still heel lift (and it's totally free there is nothing to buy it's an update over bluetooth)
I may or may have not put my original front pad back on 3 minutes after putting the replacement pad from fm on🤫 solid info here to keep us all floating now get out and make some more follow me vids Jeff✌️
Appreciate you keeping us safe out there since Future Motion won't. GT with curved footpads should never have been sold because of 1:51 the geometry - they are unlike every other (lawsuit-less) OW model. They deserve every bit of the lawsuit and should be forced to sell GTs stock with flat pads. Can a product qualify as good (or even safe) if it has to be fixed out of the box??
Yeah, this sensor pad issue almost got me killed today. For the safety of all riders I was really hoping this was just a defect with my board. Anyone know a petition or way to contact onewheel to get them to revert the changes to the sensor pad? Falling into traffic because your board suddenly decides that your heel is lifted is no fun.
Wait wait wait ur telling me I have to fix a brand new board out the box?! 🤔 $2200 for something that doesn’t work correctly, how bout a coupon code Sir!

Holding something different every shot! lol ONEWHEEL GT! 🤙🏾
I did the plastic removal on the flat pads. About 1k miles later, it’s doing great! But I also did that before most of these other methods existed.
