    It's the system that makes buckeye quarterbacks. Thats why they struggle in the NFL. They field monster offensive lines that aid the running game, which allows the buckeye q.b. to do some things. Similar to Florida qb's in the 90s/2000s. The stacked lines and stud skill position players made Danny wuerffel, rex Grossman, and Tim Tebow look a lot better than they are.

    Mostly correct about his college career except you omitted his 4th qtr against #2 PSU during his senior year. I believe he was perfect in the 4th qtr and shredded a very good PSU D. Not sure why that level of play never showed up again. MSU his freshman year he threw some laser deep balls too. Otherwise, JT was just a walking 1st down on 3rd and short, a single wing tailback basically

    • @tommydevine9993
      @tommydevine9993 3 года назад +2

      This isn't JT's fault imo. It's Tim Beck's fault (then OC). Beck's and Urban's offensive philosophy was just run the ball repeatedly with the athletic QB (despite having beast RBs on the team every year). I firmly believe that JT's passing development was severely stunted by Tim Beck's "only QB draws" playcalling mentality. Not that he would've developed into an NFL star or anything, but the development in college definitely didn't help his cause. He showed signs of downfield passing development before the ankle injury in the championship year, and when he returned, that's when the playcalling went down the tube...

    So much hyperbole with people’s opinions on JT. Yeah, it was frustrating watching him run into a brick over and over again against MSU and Clemson. But you glossed over how otherworldly he was at great competition at times. You only mentioned PSU 2017 in passing - where he had an incredible 4th quarter to lead us to a comeback. His 2016 Oklahoma performance was also phenomenal, marched in Norman and handed their ass to them. And MSU 2014 at East Lansing he was a stud.
    Compare him to 95% other college QBs past and present and he looks like the well above average player he is - he hit his ceiling at times but I think the numbers and achievements speak for themselves - straight up Buckeye legend.

    Not surprising. Ever heard of Charlie Ward? Until Kyler Murray, undersized black QBs have always been considered "not pro material". Most analysts said the same thing about Murray, but he had a head coach in Kingsbury that believed in him. Now he's making all those so called experts look foolish. He is not a traditional NFL QB, but he's clearly effective. If not for Kingsbury, Murray may not even be in the NFL today.

      I mean I’m a diehard OSU fan and I certainly have a soft spot for JT, but in all reality what other position could he have played, yanno? Like yeah he was decently athletic, but he was too slow to play receiver or running back nor was he elusive enough. Tight end would be unlikely too because he’s probably not strong enough to block defensive ends or linebackers.

    Some points. JT was never the same after his injury against Michigan in 2014. Also, you fail to mention his performance in a blow out of OU in 2016 and you glossed over the comeback performance against Penn State. In that game, he showed up big time in that game. You can say all you want about him, but it’s disingenuous to ignore over those performances against big time teams to fit your narrative.

      They don't need their QBs to do anything other than beat the sh*t out of Michigan and make the playoffs. Who cares what they do in the NFL? Oh, and Joe Burrow spent 3 years at OSU (he's an Ohio boy). Fields looks better than T Lawrence in the league though - I'll give him that much. Dudes a rookie playing behind the worst line in the NFL. Have you seen the receivers on OSU's roster?! They'll continue to pull in top QB recruits (Quinn Ewers the latest).

    • @IllMatic97
      @IllMatic97 3 года назад +2

      Lol, this comment is funny. This same logic can be applied to any QB that comes out of college, no matter what college you go to there's no guarantee of success at the next level. These scouts don't care what schools these players come from they care if they can produce and justify their draft pick spot, you brought up Fields ignoring the fact that he's a rookie who literally became the starter out of the blue when the goal was to sit him. The fact that you think what you typed actually makes sense and you got six likes shows how fuk'n re-tarded you clowns are when talking sports. Smh

    JT Barrett was not a QB, he was a running back playing QB who could throw some times, I thought the biggest error was not giving Jones the entire season and red shirting JT Barret. Look at the numbers Jones put on the board, and the points, that is the big thing. He put out big points. JT Barret few points.
