    What makes my life a little easier is doing a “brain release” every morning. What that means is I write every little thing I need to do or think about on a piece of paper, and then I sort what’s the most important to do first. Having something written down means I likely won’t forget it! ❤

    • @crivet9087

    The biggest game-changer I found (late in life) was to complete all laundry tasks in the one day…meaning, fold or hang up clothes and put them away. Not having piles of clean clothes piled everywhere is such a relief and by hanging or folding right out of the dryer means less wrinkles. Just try it…total game changer!!

    I have been doing #8. I started connecting with all three of my adult children on Sunday afternoons via text so that when they were ready to answer, they could text me back. I didn’t tell them I was doing that, I just started doing it. Before they never texted me about anything, but since I started doing it regularly, they have been contacting and asking me my opinion more often. I love how we’re communicating better than ever.

    I automate everything in my life. Sort of capsule everything. Capsule meal plan. Capsule wardrobe. Capsule kids activities. Capsule seasonal decor. Capsule workout routine.
    It saves so much time and energy, so i can relax and think of more interesting thing, like where to travel next and mini scrapbooking.
    I want to higlight capsule kids toys and activities. Trust me, they dont need too much distractiona, after school activities, entertainment, toys and playdates. They get overwhelmed, neither children nor parents have any fun, get tired and stressed out.

    • @stylenseason
      @stylenseason 7 месяцев назад +13

      @arielbayzephyrcallaway9946 For example I only meal plan with similar ingredients and shop only once a week on Tuesday. So when I go grocery shopping I always buy the same things and for the same amount. No need to think or shop around or impulse buying. To avoid getting bored, we do take outs on the weekend as variety.
      That is automating and capsuling everything.
      Hope this helps. Have a nice day!

    I fold my duvet covers and matching pillow slips together in the linen cupboard, so they don't get separated. I keep a lint free cloth in the bathroom cabinet so I can use it for a quick polish of the taps, wipe of the vanity, or mirror. Then it goes in the wash and I immediately put another clean cloth in the vanity. I always put leftovers or partly cut fruit and veges in a clear container in the fridge, or they tend to get forgotten about. I take a zip punch when travelling. It holds my passport, zip-lock plastic bags x 2, tissues, ear plugs, eyemask, travel Toothbrush and small toothpaste, lip balm, pen, paracetamol and any other medication I need, and boarding passes. It fits in the back of the seat pocket on the aircraft and is within easy reach. Game changer - no more scrabbling about in a bag under the seat in front! I also have a large box for ski gear, another box for tramping gear, and a other box for camping gear. I have a camping list that includes all the essentials we need to take- this helped a lot when we were camping with younger kids - no more forgotten can openers, tea towels, chopping board, or brush and shovel to wipe out the tent. I also keep a pouch in the cat that includes sunblock, insect repellent, lip balm, emergency blanket, hand sanitiser, pens, plasters, paracetamol, and tissues. It fits in the back pocket of the passenger seat, together with a compact umbrella. A dog towel (for beach and river swims or a wet, muddy dog) and shopping bags live in the boot.

    Taking 15 minutes at night to wash the dishes, tidy up, pack my bag, put stuff where it's ready to grab in the morning, packing a lunch, all those things make the morning so much smoother, and it's less chaotic than cramming it in when I'm in a rush. It also helps me stay on time more often!

    Even easier tips for some of the 30 tips mentioned
    1. Earn more - improve skillsets according to the pay or vocation level you want to earn at.
    2. Makeup brushes - Micellar water and palms clean brushes just as perfectly. Otherwise, use fingers to apply makeup so that there’s nothing to wash 😂 cream makeup baby!
    3. Nails - Stick on nails, or just keep them natural as much as possible
    4. Learn to ask for help / Trade services with reliable neighbours
    5. Plan dates in advance as soon as one concludes - Google Calendar invites
    6. Spare makeup bag for essentials - eyedrops, medication, sanitizer, lipgloss, perfume, tissues, hand cream to chuck from bag to bag
    7. Schedule less
    8. Less goals, and habit stack them
    9. A No List / not right now list - setting clear boundaries and communicating them
    10. Gift ideas for loved ones - schedule it into the birthday with their names immediately/ a week before of that day. Add “born in” to include year of person.
    11. Box of cards, gift bags, for quick wrapping and gifting. Good to add some spare Moets in that “gifting cupboard” for convenience.
    12. Don’t make rash decisions especially when you’re tired - don’t rush to reply or open a text!
    13. Say “no” more often if it’s not a f yeah
    14. Meal delivery service or simply meal prep and freeze meals. Rotate a weekly/ 2 weekly menu.
    15. Declutter and label. Stay neat. and have a home for everything.
    16. Laundry bag for Sportsbra - make sure that you don’t waste time to readjust pads/ spoil them
    17. Make sure to have a strict rest day a week.
    18. Brain dump - place the idea into a time further down in Google Calendar
    19. Workout routine, beauty routine - lock in days and hours and repeat them.
    20. Spend time to journal / speak to someone!
    21. Dump all your supplements and blend into a protein shake for breakfast.
    Hope this was helpful ❤

    1- I determine my priorities
    2- If I have a very important exam, I turn off my phone and computer and take them out of my room.
    3- I write down the tasks to be done during the day on paper and cross off each task as I complete it.
    4- I listen to podcasts of successful people and try to apply their experiences in my life.
    5- To spend my free time, even while waiting for the bus at the bus stop, I listen to English Podcasts (including your videos :) ) and my English has improved significantly in the last 2 years.
    These made my life easier and better, at least I was more successful in my school life.

      Great video Sarah. Completely agree re having structure and also asking for help. For me a few things have massively improved my life:
      1. Journalling. Figuring out what I want vs what are what I think I should want. Figuring out what are my own opinions and what are other people's
      2. Building routines and structure with people to keep me accountable. Part of this is my accountability group in Fridays that I attend and another is my accountability group I've started on a Sunday. These are becoming bookmarks to my week and like you say take the decision making out of it.
      3. Taking care of myself and not people pleasing. If that is saying no to social events that don't truly serve me or stopping drinking this year, I am trying to do things that put me first more. It makes me a better me, a better partner and doctor. Completely agree!
      Have a good week!

    Rather than having a “laundry day”, I do one load every single day. I put it in the washer when I wake up. I move it to the dryer before I leave for work. I fold it when I get home. I separate my laundry by: body clothes, clean towels (bathroom/kitchen towels), dirty towels (dog towels). We are always accumulating each type of laundry so by doing one load a day, none of the piles ever get too big. Most weeks I have one day where each pile is very small so I wash my bed sheets that day.

    • @SarahNicholls

Rustic Honey has a video up with all her systems and some I never thought about doing.

    I use separate laundry bins for each kind of load - darks, lights, delicates etc. So I don't waste time sorting through them. When I see the laundry bin is full, everything goes in the washer. But i love those large nets you're using for the dog towels. Going to incorporate them, so that all the laundry can go in the machine in one fell swoop. Yay to avoiding spending time on tedious but necessary things!

    Meal planning has been the biggest game changer for me. I have even gone so far as setting up a notion database where I save recipes and I drag the recipe to the day I plan on making it. Then I have easy access to the recipe and can quickly build the shopping list because I can see exactly what I’m making. Also, when I am running low on something I tell Alexa to add it to the shopping list so I don’t run out and accidentally miss adding it to the list. My second tip is to always leave a space better than when I found it. After I shower in the morning I give the sink a quick wipe down, I make the bed before I leave the bedroom and unpack the dishwasher before I leave the kitchen.

    Lots of great tips, one thing I do is to keep a few of the items that I have been using for years on hand so I don't have to go to the store to get another one when it runs out. For example, I have been using the same face wash for years and I buy 3 or 4 at a time so I don't have to worry about it for a long time. Cooking meals in batches and saving/freezing some for leftovers is another life hack.

    Things that make my life easier is finding the areas of tension the things that make me feel stressed or overwhelmed and I remove them or find ways to improve those areas so its not a area of tension and stress. Also thinking outside the box really helps...so for example one time I was out bleach and floor cleaner so i used laundry detergent in water to clean my floor, when I was out of hand soap I mixed together dawn dish soap and a little water, ive used rice once or twice when I suddenly ran out of litter and I couldn't get to the store for a few days. Sometimes when you are struggling or stressing...thinking outside the box might temporarily solve a stresser.

    That's a wonderful video Sarah. Thank you for the great tips!
    I see much of myself there, much of how my life looked like in the past. I'd literally jog to work too because I otherwise would have been late. A year later it was worse because I worked 3 jobs seven days a week while struggling with chronic illness. I didn't have time for the most normal things for myself. The only things I did for myself were a daily shower, brush teeth, wash face and then put make up on in a huge hurry in 10 min on the drive to work (someone else drove the car). The only beauty thing I did was to cut my nails and sometimes I didn't even have time for that. My life was work, heat up a frozen meal, eat in a hurry, sleep, shower and repeat. I think a lot of people can relate!

      Oh gosh that's so stressful 😫 yes that was similar to what my life looked like! I had 3 jobs at one point too, I worked a 9-5, then some evenings worked in a bar and did one night shift a week as a healthcare assistant 🫠 it was hard graft! I know so many others live like that and it's not for the faint hearted. Even more difficult with a chronic illness to contend with! Hope you're doing well, thank you for watching 🫶✨️

      @@SarahNicholls Hello Sarah! It definitely sounds like we've went through the same grind. It had good sides to it, too. Maybe you feel the same way. It felt good to successfully juggle university and the jobs. 💪I managed to get really good grades at uni while meeting lots of interesting people at the jobs. I wouldn't want to miss the experiences I made at the time.
      Only later when I suddenly became ill it changed. Had to take a few months break doing nothing which bugged me as I love having work, projects and hobbies in my life. After the break I was still ill but continued my old life anyway which was a daily struggle.
      Now that I've been back to my old health for a while, I try to take good care of myself. At least now I've got a good reason not to skimp on anything health or wellbeing related. 🌸✨
      Also wanted to let you know that I'm glad I found your channel because you've got a unique perspective that's worth sharing!

    I stick to a routine such as w/time management. At 8:30 I get my daughter up. Get dressed for the day. Take the dog out. Fix breakfast & eat. Play toys, do a little learning game, & spend time together. Nap time at 1:00 & wake up at 3:30. Go outside & play. Eat dinner by 5:00. Bath time at 6:30. 7:00 my daughter spends about 15 to 20 minutes with her Daddy & then she’s tucked into bed by 7:30. That’s my day when it’s just me & my daughter every day in a nutshell for a routine. I’m lucky that my husband gets off of work at 3:00 every day & I get help after nap time w/playing & cooking. During playtime, I usually clean up or make a phone call. It just keeps the household running smoothly & my daughter & even our dog knows what to expect every day. Nothing is perfect but I’ve raised 5 children, except my 5th bc she’s only 5. My oldest is 25 and I don’t know what I would do without a daily routine. Also, everyone has always had age appropriate chores to keep the house clean and organized. My biggest problem has been that I had my first 4 children between the ages of 21 to 29, but I had my 5th at 41. I have to entertain her a lot and I’ve gotten into the habit of letting myself go and not getting dressed and putting on makeup. It started during Covid and I just got into a really bad habit of not putting myself together. This something I definitely need to work on. I need to set a time to b dressed and ready every day like I use to when I was raising my oldest 4 children.

    • @SarahNicholls
      @SarahNicholls  7 месяцев назад

      Your daily routine sounds like it keeps everything ship shape and well run! I love the organisation!! I'm from a family of 5 siblings too - my mum had my oldest brother at 24 and my youngest brother at 42, so there were big age gaps. It was a fun household to grow up in. I know what you mean about not getting yourself ready, it can be an easy habit to fall into.

    So the things you grab from that box that you want to shove in your hand bag do you put all those things in your make up bag before you put them in your purse or no? what things do you not put in your make up bag? obviously not the umbrella but what else

    • @SarahNicholls
      @SarahNicholls  8 месяцев назад +5

      Good question! OK, to clarify:
      I have a box of stuff that I *might* regularly need to take out with me (umbrella, spare reusable carrier bags, sunscreen etc). I empty my handbag into that every day.
      I have a makeup bag with the absolute essentials in that I take with me in every handbag (I don't empty it into the handbag, I just take the whole thing). This contains hair ties, hand sanitisers, hand cream, tissues, gum/mints, lip balm.
      It helps me to stay organised and get out the house quickly!! Hope that makes sense.

    for #8-9 how do you keep in contact with people who seem don't care. I don't want to lose contact with them, but it hurts when I try to reach out to them and I'm an option only. they give an "option energy." I just wanted to be updated/ be checked in on how they are doing, I considered them my best friends, and I cherish them so much, but it seems they're fine with their lives without me. They are the only person I trusted so much.

    • @SarahNicholls
      @SarahNicholls  7 месяцев назад

      Oh this is so difficult, I'm really sorry to hear that 😔 it's really horrible when you feel like you're pulling all the weight in a relationship. It's important to keep reminding yourself that you can't control how they respond to you, you can only control what you do. Try to let go of expectations of how you think they 'should' respond to you. It's OK to raise it with them, and say that you feel a bit unsupported. But ultimately you can't change how they choose to act. It might be time to seek out some more circles of friends where you belong and its not an uphill battle.
      Sending you loads of good wishes, it's really hard!
