Coexistence aka Co-ex 5.10d | The Gunks, NY

An excellent climb in the Gunks. I top-roped the route once a weekend before and was confident to lead it. The crux move was very bouldery, but I was happy to have sent it on my first go.

how high is that 1rt protection black totem ?

You really need to work on gear placement. There were at least three moments you blocked your hold with protection that and in general messed about with too long of runners for no reason. Also you put pro in places that will likely blow out in a fall.

i completely disagree with you. where else is the gear going to go? there aren't really many options for pro other than the crack. in the gunks you generally have to choose between gear or holds. this person chose wisely. i thought their gear was pretty solid given the lack of choices.
