I've personally now seen Bayleef and Meganium the same amount. The only time I've seen Meganium was when Pokeburm released a video playing a team with Meganium.
Back in Gen 5 VGC, I played around with a Bayleef w/ Magic Coat on Showdown. A lot of people heavvvvvily underestimated its ability to bounce back Taunts, set up Leech Seeds, etc. and it especially did work in sun, so I love seeing it shine on the ladder.
I had no idea Bayleef learned Heal PUlse. That's a cool pick, but I don't think the opponent was playing particularly well. They needed Miradon to punch holes through things early on, and they probably shouldn't bring Alolan Raichu unless using it in tandem with electric terrain, which they never did.
If there's one thing i would change in the type chart, that would be fairy type resisting bug, and it should be neutral instead or at least have both types resist each other. Bug is still the worst type and we all know they did that since u-turn is used so much.
I personally would make Fairy weak to Bug. It'd make the best typing a little worse and the worst typing a lot better. And if you want a "lore" reason why Fairy is weak to Bug, it could be something like bugs are gross, and fairies don't like gross things.
@@eamk887 That would balance things out a lot. Fairies are really powerful, and Bugs are really weak. Bug coverage for Fairy, Grass, Dark, and Psychic would actually see a lot of play.
@@jonathanlgill we would need a reason why fairies should be weak to bug first. Not that I could think of a reason on why they would resist each other. Why does Fairy resist bug in the first place?
@@pketr5 I mean, it's a bit hard to find a "reason" for a mythical type that doesn't have any real world equivalent (why are they immune to dragons??). Bugs and Fairies both live in forests, and perhaps bugs encroach on the fairies' terrain.
Bayleef is funny but it did virtually nothing besides sit there and occasionally heal pulse. Slowing the game down is valuable, but idk if dropping ALL offense is worth it
Ok well now you gotta try out the bayleef team or we will never be happy
It was such a boring team to face though
@@MrSp3ctre yea... you're not wrong lol
@@MrSp3ctre Admittedly it's a really unique pick! But it was real boring to watch.
It says a lot about society that Bayleef probably has higher ladder usage than Maganium

Burm and Baek both said body press instead of body slam today. What a coinkydink.
We really are living in one, huh

Gamefreak missed the opportunity this gen to give Bayleef/Meganium rage powder and a decent ability :(
The bayleaf game got the attention, but the last game was crazy. James was playing out of his mind in the last half of that game.
Oh damn I read this too fast after seeing the bayleaf and thought you were using it lol I remember that was one of my favorites in the anime as a kid
I thought that as well. I love the confused reaction when he saw the Bayleaf on opponents team.
Opponent: "oh no they're going to target my bayleef!!!!"
Got jebaited so hard by that thumb. You gotta use that Bayleef team.
Gen 2 nostalgia has been achieved with this first battle
Excellently played. It was crazy watching your position so much
Bayleef really one of the few middle evolutions that’s honestly better designed than their final form.
Flutter / incineroar / rilla on every single team ever
And might as well throw in an urshifu too
Flutter is not that popular rn , urshifu , rilla and incin are the big 3 and rilla is just mandatory on all team rn due to terrain war.
I want a bayleef miraidon video now
I love the Bayleef's trainer card, she does have some nice cha chas.
lol I almost thought this was my bayleef. Love to see bayleef getting some usage!
Yall thought the bayleef strat was boring? Be lucky my shuckle cant terrastilize 😈
What was there plan in game 1? Man what a stall!
That was the plan
He wanted to see how long it would take him to lose
He was playing to the out of his opponent getting hit with a meteor, and was stalling to give it more time to happen
People who’re playing at such a high level have me in awe, because hooooow😭

I thought I was gonna see Bayleef on your team.. :[
Are you going to feature the team you used for the Los Angeles Regionals?
Bayleef is my favourite!!
man in the last video you played like 6 games in the same amount of time this team got to play 2! bayleaf holdin' it down
Hey, I'm new to the competition, do you have any tips for me on which websites to use to build my team?

that was such a struggle to get through
Bayleef confirmed not the sauce
Mannnn I use Baylee’s in single and is scary how people doesn’t know anything about this Pokémon
So its role is basically just be annoying
Bayleef is funny but it did virtually nothing besides sit there and occasionally heal pulse. Slowing the game down is valuable, but idk if dropping ALL offense is worth it
Oh no, please don’t encourage more people to play Eternatus I’m begging you 😂
At least you didn’t showcase the stall stuff
You play too passive, considering that I would like to see you playing a stall team
Pretty sure bayleef has Serene Grace as its ability. So the para chance from body slam is 60%
Bayleef has two abilities leaf guard and over grow 😂
Idk if it was the team but this episode was BORING! my god was this an ep of slow play
