Its a brutal circuit, especially if you are on your own! Fair play for staying in as long as you did mate, you passed one of my group as you were going up to the finish. His new claim to fame is being overtaken by you lol
The World Champs at Goodwood was in 1982. I was there as a young fan for the men's pro Road race which Saronni won. Mandy Jones won the women’s amateur race if I remember rightly. Oh happy days!
Another great insight to the reality of domestic racing 👏🏻👏🏻 be interesting to see how other x-pros OR current pros would get on at this 🤔😃 Alex was the a video on your new handlebars setup???
What is the item you put in your base layer? Also for these types of events do you carry your medication should (which hopefully you won’t!) have an accident or is that give to a car behind the pack?
Agreed on realistic and more cost effective but they then become criteriums really. motor racing circuits would give a more Road race feel to them, but yeah, cost wise it's be really tough.
50 + MPH... no thank you. I like a good rip from time to time but anything above 40 ish is too fast for me lol. Yes, I will say it for myself. Im a wimp 😆
Great video title, great first minute or two! I love a good view. But bottles that don't match the bike? Unsubscribed! (Really didn't but it made me laugh that you (or anyone) considers it!) Great commentary by you about your tactics, British cycling, venues etc
But apparently you did finish 2nd at CTT and appealing the result against 1st place? Come on man, he did beat you on your own “marginal gains” game. Get over it.
Just for utter clarity, George and I are friends. My coaching company 'Thighs Club Coaching' coaches George and he's also a consultant coach for us. We've been working towards this goal for months now in training and helping George maximising/interpreting the rules there are. I didn't do the same as I have a tough newborn and toddler at home and my priorities have shifted.
@@AlexDowsettOfficial I stand corrected and I apologize for my comment without knowing the context. I jumped to quickly to the conclusion of you were the guy complaining about the results and I didn't confirmed before commenting here. Social media can be toxic sometimes but also we can make it right.
That Garmin mount looks less than ideal.

3:45 that white Venge is a piece of art ❤
It really was!

Nice vid...it was 1982 worlds Guiseppe Saronni won on a red Colnago & started my passion for road racing.
His finish was something to behold live.
I have enough trouble getting up Goodwood hill once let alone 10 times! Chapeau to you guys. Enjoying the videos, cheers
Great to see racing on roads I ride all the time!
Wobbly Garmin.
electrical tape inside the mount usually gives a tighter fit

Rockingham was being used for car storage after its closure to racing but it could be ideal!
Watched Rowan win East Cleveland, really great rider
Good story telling in your video work

those RIbble are uh different?
Alex, where did you get the purple bits for your bike?
Mostly from Hope 👍
@@AlexDowsettOfficial Thanks!
Like the idea of the motor racing circuits but kart tracks might be more realistic and cost effective ?

May have missed it? What went in the base layer pocket?
Car key fob 🙂
What are those handlebars?
What did you put in your base layer?
His car key by the looks of it 😂
What's the chance for getting Carlton Kirby to do a cameo race commentary for us on an upcoming race video?
Still can’t get over that they are on open roads with traffic coming the other way at points… I know car drivers who would sh** a brick seeing that
Was the white s-works at the beginning a Venge?
Yeah 👍🏽
82. Shame on you. I thought you would have watched the Utube of it and do a Sarroni at the finnish 😂
So what happened?
50 + MPH... no thank you. I like a good rip from time to time but anything above 40 ish is too fast for me lol. Yes, I will say it for myself. Im a wimp 😆
My fiancee is from Hampshire so I know 9.5C is (x2 +30) 49F
The worlds finish was lower down the climb Alex.
Nah bro but racing on pyblic roads with traffic on it, on a descent, thats fucked up

Well said.
Wait what? I'm helping George defend his win because I think it was won fair and square. Really disappointing to wake up and read this accusation.
