The thing I like about Hyundai is that they do something different compared to other companies. Most cars look the same nowadays so I appreciate the uniqueness even if I’m not a huge fan of it
Nah, all they do is modify everyone else’s signature. This is why there is no cohesiveness until you get to the Genesis brand. With KIA/Hyundai, they have bastardized Porsche, Volvo, Range Rover etc design cues. People love it.
I'm not crazy about it but it's an MPV long crossover, type of vehicle. Not typically my type of design taste. That said, judging it objectively, it does fit Hyundai Ioniq's mold of retro futuristic design, it's very cool.
Wow weldone Hyundai for this masterpiece of a design This one of the few evs that I just love and wished to see even though am not a huge fan of evs but I love this design its so cool
Hyundai is doing pretty well!🎉Keep moving! The rear of the car maintains the theme with styling that stays true to the spirit of the concept car(Hyundai SEVEN concept).
Same! They should have kept the same proportions and shapes for the fender flares and the wheel arches, but for some silly reason they decided to go with smaller circular wheel arches that don't match the fender flares anymore. It makes it look awkward and weak and changes the whole stance of the car.
I would bet that the swiveling second row seats will not come to North America due to safety regulations here. The Kia Carnival has swiveling second row seats in certain trims in the Korean market but they are not available here in North America. Also, a large part of the central top pixels in the back do light up as they are the "third" brake light.
Ioniq 9's styling reminds me of one of those MPVs that are popular in Europe and South East Asia like Fiat 500L, VW Touran or BMW 2 series Active/Grand Tourer. Somehow the hood/beltline is too high, but the roof is low? Not a good look regardless
Regarding the all glass back concept, BMW did this with the i3 in production. If you look at salvage listings for I3s you will see it turned out exactly as you expected .
They should've kept the pixelated taillight bar where the IONIQ9 text is and integrate the indicators there too. That way at night you see a giant H for brand recognition and then have the top LED wrap around portion be the brake light. 3 rows of LEDs of the taillight bar to match the front and you can have more customized designs for how the lights work.
What do you mean by the proportions look spot on? The back of this looks like a funeral hearse or a narrow minivan. I don't dislike the look overall, but I think it's just too long.
I don't think it slaps the same rear motor to the front for the performance version. I say that because that would mean they are using another permanent magnetic motor up front instead of an induction motor which will increase price by a decent amount.
Attractive vehicle that looks even better in person. The wheel arch surface are busy and awkward though, I think the concept looks better here. The interior gives off Genesis vibes but with less costly materials.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
I love it going to pre order just because of reclining 2nd rows and overall beautiful interior design. I am turned off by too many lights speicially the back side. But then again you won't need a Christmas tree just put the presents underneath the ionic 9.
This looks like Hyundai walked right up to the line of making a minivan and then decided against it at the last minute (just like the Model X, a million other giant crossovers, etc). I wish they’d just make a van already. I’m sure KIA has plans to further electrify the Carnival, but it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing for Hyundai to have their own IMO. People can point to the death of the Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan vs the Chrysler Pacifica and I’d just say that Caravan was always the more popular nameplate.
IMHO the third side window angle is a bit too acute, but overall I like it ..However, just as with the Santa Fe with the ''H'' thing, the ''pixel'' thing is a bit over baked to be taken entirely seriously.
The fenders on the production version are what looks off to me. Their lines don't fit together in any way, the eyebrow looks off. The concept has them much better.
Funny how much nicer the concept car looks... It's like the 'pretty twin' and the 'ugly twin'... Similar, but one looks great, the other requires a bag..
Don't wanna be negative or anything but I don't understand why we need to see the text from the article in these videos. Not gonna read it, the adverts just distract me, and all the text with the big white background when my eyes are trying to enjoy line-flow is super intense. I'm probably hyper sensitive or something. Or maybe it's my dyslexia. It puts me off watching though and it's shame bc i really like the content.
The door cards look way to weak graficly for a big suv. It looks like they are borrowed form mini or fiat 500. Too many rounded shapes. It doesn't look serious to me.
This is insane. The concept would have been the most beautiful Hyundai ever. I've totally lost my faith in them with this neutered design. I just hope the Genesis doesn't end up looking so ugly.
I hate sounding like a snob..but cars stopped looking good in the 90s, and those were 70s and 80s carryover models, like the 3rd gen camaro, and the 3rd gen GM pickup. Car styling had degreesed since the early 80s
Really like the exterior design - beautiful from every angle. The interior though not so much! Some elements of the interior look like they were taken from a mid-range offering. Stylish to a degree but lacking substance.
The rear looks like a cross between an old Volvo estate and a Fiat Panda, while also looking like an early 2000s MPV. Not a fan, to each their own though.
I really like Hyundai now but they need to redesign their logo, it looks so naff. Kia had the same problem and the new one looks far better. Jaguar also did this and…..no forget that
Hyundai is the closest to what i thought cars 2025 would look like😂
They're finally matching the designs with the current year
Agreed
While Tesla makes designs that act like they're from the future, Hyundai and Kia make cars that feel like they're from the future.
Hyundai and Kia for sure. Kia really nailed their spaceship-esque design choices
@@DodgerFloof There is no design in Tesla's.
The thing I like about Hyundai is that they do something different compared to other companies. Most cars look the same nowadays so I appreciate the uniqueness even if I’m not a huge fan of it
Really? I see tons of chinese cars with these ' retro futuristic designs' that it doesnt feels unique anymore

@@FCM415where tf do you see Volvo 😭 bro is blind
@@FCM415 exactly...most Hyundais/Kias ape Ford and Cadillac design cues to the tea in the head and tail lights
Looks like an old Volvo Station wagon from the back and I say that in a good way!
"looks like" is an understantement.
@@maxmeier532 hahaha.. TRUE!

I agree, it looks like a car/MPV designed for the Southeast Asian market.
This looks like stationwagon
Wow weldone Hyundai for this masterpiece of a design
This one of the few evs that I just love and wished to see even though am not a huge fan of evs but I love this design its so cool
Hyundai will be the leader in the EV era
Ev era lol
Hyundai is doing pretty well!🎉Keep moving! The rear of the car maintains the theme with styling that stays true to the spirit of the concept car(Hyundai SEVEN concept).
They made a Volvo V70 SUV?
2012 Volvo V70 was the best car I've ever driven. Lasted for 12 years, only really broke down with a popped tire, that engine was peak. I miss it...
XC70...
@@Pato-ot3hf never been in one, our lowered V70 (eco reasons) managed to drive to the cabin surprisingly well, so never needed one
I bet this looks awesome on person. I really like the Calligraphy trim over the regular one.
cant imagine how huge the thing is
the ioniq 5 is already massive compared to most suvs, yet looks like a tiny hatchback
5 looks like a massive hatchback but it's defenately not massive for suv standarts.
The top led rear light is the third brake lights they are functional
I just want to see an all black version, but they haven’t released any pics of an all black one
High key 2nd and 3rd gen Volvo V70 vibes and design elements
I think it looks a lot better than the EV9 and even the Lucid Gravity, this has great proportions and design
The swivel 2nd row seats are only available on Europe market
This looks good.
A... SUVan.
it looks like a 2000's volvo station wagon. But interesting design tho
art
The crescents on the fender flares ruin it for me. They're not executed well like on the concept and end up just looking busy.
Same! They should have kept the same proportions and shapes for the fender flares and the wheel arches, but for some silly reason they decided to go with smaller circular wheel arches that don't match the fender flares anymore. It makes it look awkward and weak and changes the whole stance of the car.
Yea the wheel wrchs being around with the squared off flairs look weird
Take a shot every time Bembli says "product design."
Or "boxy".

Its the only car Ive seen that reminds me of the Isuzu Axiom.

To be honest, the KIA EV 9 is much more impressive. This one is too "American SUV" with shapes from the late 90's for my taste.
Can you do the new 2 series gran coupe next please
I love de design ❤
i saw this car being tested in socal while dressed in camo
it was towering over my gti 🤣
Looks like a Volvo v70 and a minivan had a baby

The concept looks better in my opinion.
I was thinking the same, not as bad as the concept. I get some Escalade vibes from the back.
Honestly the multi color fenders look better. The green sel I think looks pretty good
Its a shame the top two corners of the tail lights don't all light up during braking. Only a shorter straight line of pixels appears.
Great design but the rectangles above the wheels look odd.
The front window is ONLY for headless drivers...I would bang my head all the time.
No you wouldn’t…
This is the Frankenstein of Li L9, Li mega
The concept is a lot cooler.
Interior looks great! Exterior is a bit weird...

Li Mega : I Copy Your Staria Front .
Hyundai : I copy your Rear .

Hyundai has the Staria as a mpv instead of sharing platforms with the Carnival
I prefer the concept.
why does it look like the late 90s/early 00s volvos?

i was thinking the same thing, production looks better. the Volvo thing makes sense as Koreans love Volvo
hyundia and kia designers are definitely homies
Don't agree with the use of side cameras. Replacement cost for a current glass mirror is high enough. Can you imagine the cost of a camera mirror.😮

Why can't Hyundai get the the rear end right first the Santa Fe and now this. This looks more awkward it looks like a kid drew it.
