    That Disco is one of my all time favorite builds. I mean, the attention to detail is freaking madness, and one of my favorite parts is the wire loomn coming out of the fabbed rear quarter glass. Epic build Nate!

      I love the way this disco sounds! But the bean conversion rate is off a little bit. It requires a lot of beans to use and doesn't seem to create the same amount of beans worth of power 😆. I think some of the beans that are consumed are used to generate noise and not power. At least, that's my best guess 🤷

    Ive been using that same Factor55 hitch link for years with my soft shackles! No sign of wear or stress on the shackles. I do agree the yankum one has a more pronounced curve, but the F55 one is 100% suited for soft shackles and is still better than 90% of whats on the market!

    Looks like an awesome trip! I love snow wheeling and camping. I did a 24 hour recovery mission on Sunday to save a group of stranded campers near the Rubicon at McKinstry Lake.

    On a "good" snow year we've taken all day with rigs from Toyota's and Samis on 42's to 3klb buggies on 47's to get to the lineman shack. Cold, dry Eastern WA snow is nothing like the go anywhere, wet Western WA snow...

    A 12v heated mattress pad under you made the biggest difference for me in my RTT. Doesn’t use much power either.

    Thanks for this video. You just help me confirm my suspicion to not use rear lockers in the snow on off camber sections. I kept sliding sideways, when all the guys with no lockers just drove thru.

    that was a good one... glad it didn't go donner up there on the matterhorn... that was crazy... i'd want to get out and cross country ski up there, so cool and cool to see your other rig that orange one you built, it's cool looking... it was easier for you because you have the adjustable air suspension to even you out, the other guys were probably making bricks the whole time.

    An excellent episode being viewed from South Africa, where we actually have some pretty darn good heavy snow trails too. Great to see you push it to the limit on the route - nobody learns anything from the easier trails, even though they are a lot of fun to play in after trying the other route. Basically a perfect trip with both experiences. You're definitely showing off how good the Discovery is in snow Nate.

    You need to have one of us backcountry sledders, to put our mountain sled on edge, and cut a track, on the uphill side of the off camber sections. Also do some scouting, to find passable trails, that the drone really can't tell, from above.

      @@rayjon237 Thats the plan! and an LM4 engine. Ive never done rock crawling so im not too worried about the axle, but an 'adventure' vehicle seems amazing. Surf racks, sound system, fox shocks, and 3" lift with black rhino 16" wheels, and currently wrapping it to be matte black. it's going to be a good time.

    i would love to see yall come to the iron range here in mn! and if ya do, lmk. id love to meet yall, hear stories and see that beautifil fab work in action. ive got a pretty stock fj cruiser, just a bash plate and better tires so nothing to write home about. but ya know yotas and you probably know how much of a billygoat the fj is, i shouldnt hold anyone back.
    there isnt much here in mn, but if you pass through or if its not too far off course and youre heading eastward to the apalacians or something, make an excuse to let off a little steam at the iron range.

    I've had a decent time with my 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts in the snow so far in Colorado, but I keep looking at people running 38s for the sake of not dragging frame or diff in the snow. It's so tempting, despite the 3" lift on a Gladiator.

    9:13 - That Yankum recovery point might be the best you can get, if the Brennan's Garage Soft Shackle Receiver Adapter didn't exist. ;)
    The perfect pairing is the 1/2" Bubba Rope soft shackle.

      @@DirtLifestyle Not sure if my previous comment went through. You're looking for Bee Safe Recovery Gear (by Brennan's Garage). The item is called "Soft Shackle Receiver Adapter, 2.0 size". (There is a 2.5" version as well if needed.)
      Commonly a 7/16" soft shackle is paired with it, but very specific 1/2" shackles can just barely fit perfectly if you get the right kind (the styles that do not pass through themslves), like the Bubba Rope 1/2" NexGen PRO Gator-Jaw unit. The typical 1/2" pass-through style of soft shackle is too thick to be installed so a 7/16" unit is the common solution. The non-pass-through style is so much easier to undo anyway. I won't do pass-through ever again.
      Edit: Yah looks like my other comment probably got blocked as spam. Let me know if you need more details. This should be in your kit for sure.
