The first three are a complete story, known as the Bourne trilogy. The other two are sort of bonus--they're not bad at all, but if you don't watch them, it's totally ok and you're not missing out. What I'm trying to say is at least make sure you watch the first 3
everyone see's things in trilogies, every single bourne movie is the same plot, different people, i'd say either watch them all, or none of them, commit, or quit.
I think the Wombosi thing being like a member of his entourage is that they were out on a yacht, the only people on the yacht would have been Wombosi's people and Jason would have disappeared so no one on the yacht would have known anyone else was there, thus making it look like one of Wombosi's own had killed him. EDIT: Nevermind you immediately got that right after I had typed this lol.
The Bourne Identity is one of my favorite rewatchable movies ever. But I will also go so far as to say the next 2 movies are even better (if not as rewatchable) because they add more layers to the story (no spoilers). The 4th movie doesn't star Matt Damon but it's decent too. And the 5th movie, Jason Bourne, is a helluva ride that I hope you also HOP INTO one day.
If it comes to details, I like how Marie is mentioning for a moment some shop in Greece, what is the only reason Jason was able to find her at the end. Another nice detail is that every passport shown in this bank deposit box is used in some part of the movie
This franchise became very influential on the action genre after this in terms of how the action is staged and how it's shot - often times negatively though. There was a whole wave of "shaky cam" movies that came afterwards, but they seemed to rarely use the technique as well as the Bourne films in terms of not making the viewer confused as to what's going on or actually giving them motion sickness, etc. The second of the Daniel Craig Bond movies (Quantum of Solace) was a high profile case of copying Bourne poorly, and so were the Taken sequels. In some cases it was more to cover up the fact that they didn't have good fight/action choreography, or that the actor wasn't trained or capable enough to do a big fight scene, etc.
this series of movies taught me one thing and it's how easily they can track someone like a "ghost", let alone an avg human. And this was the early 2000s, now it's just too easy.
✨The Bourne movies are some of my absolute favorites. The Bourne Ultimatum (3rd movie) being my favorite! People give a lot of shit to The Bourne Legacy, (4th movie) but I loved it! I'll comment more on that, explaining why I loved it when that movie comes up though, so not to give spoilers! Excited for the rest of this series! 🤍✨
I agree, The Bourne Legacy still had great action and Aaron Cross is Jeremy Renner's best role along with his William Brandt role from Mission: Impossible imo.
When Bourne was suppose to kill Umbosa(Spelling) and he saw his kids,he knows he had to kill them, because they're witnesses and that's when he hesitated and he couldn't do it.
OMG!!! YES!!!! BOURNE TRILOGY!! THE ORIGINAL JOHN WICK!! THE PENCIL WELL BOURNE DOES IT WITH A 🖋️. And with Bourne Identity he has nothing but muscle memory and instinct.
Seeing Mr. Eko here has reminded me that you absolutely need to put lost on your TV series watch list. Bourne supremacy is probably my favorite of this series but Ultimatum is also very good. Didn't care much for the 4&5 installments. This is a trilogy IMO with a good ending.
@@ItsVincentAgain I thought the Renner movie was pretty good. Of course, I may have given it an opinion boost because I could tell what was happening on screen since it wasn't directed by Paul Greengrass. That man's camera choices make Bourne 2, 3, and 5 unwatchable for me.
"I had to close down everything. I had to close down my mind. Too many things to cover me. Too much can make me blind. I've seen so much, in so many places. So many heartaches, so many faces. So many dirty things. You couldn't even believe..." :)
The Bourne Trilogy was spunoff into the prequel "Treadstone." It only lasted a season but it was good & more importantly it was intriguing. It's now streaming on Hulu, Peacock & Amazon Prime Video... if anyone is interested.
Yaaaaaaayyyyyyy! This is one of the most complete and consistently excellent franchise that I looked to for action in the absence of comics related films. Bourne, Underworld, and Resident Evil franchises put in that work and held it down til the advent of Feige. All your questions will be answered over time with a number of surprises. Be sure to go through ALL the movies including the Bourne Legacy to get the complete details. You are in for some truly exceptional action. If it must be done in shakey hand held fashion, THIS is the way!
The Bourne Identity/series had a M A S S I V E impact on the spy movie industry. The Daniel Craig James Bond movies are the darkest, most brutally violent and gritty Bond movies of all time BECAUSE they were made in response to the Bourne series. The modern Mission Impossible movies, likewise, were revived and everything was cranked up in response to the Bourne series. John Wick was created in response to the Bourne series. Mission Impossible 2 kinda sucked, so it took them 6 years to finally make MI3. By THAT time The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy had already come out, and Casino Royale had rebooted Bond in response. MI3 was still made in the old style, and everyone was immediately like "we now live in a post-Bourne, recalibrated-Bond universe, where Ethan Hunt looks a bit lost.". So for Mission Impossible 4 they recalibrated to be more like Bourne. These movies COMPLETELY redefined the spy movie genre.
Both the second and third are good, first one is meh but it's like Star Wars it was the baseline for the rest of the franchise. Chronicles of Riddick is in my top 5 movies, I love that one. You keep what you kill!
Not only are there 5 Bourne movies (The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Bourne Legacy, and Jason Bourne), there was also spin-off TV show called "Treadstone". All worth a look, at the very least.
For anyone wondering how he found her in Greece, she mention him some shop or something that she saw on a trip there when they were traveling to Paris by car
This movie actually got a cool video game adaption on PS3/360 called 'The Bourne Conspiracy'. It expands on the story and covers more of the book, too, including a whole playable section before Bourne loses his memory, covering the Wombosi mission. The game also features Yakuza-style environmental takedowns you can perform on your enemies!
I have two things to mention here. 1) The movie made a major change from the book on the role Jason Bourne had in the story. I really recommend reading the books to see the original vision of the story. 2) The team that did the car chase in this movie did the car chase in Ronin before this movie. You should check that movie out as well.
Jason wasn't masquerading as a bodyguard - he was "hiding" on the boat for 5 days. He was supposed to kill the target himself (he IS an assassin) and frame one of the bodyguards.
He doesn't even need to frame one of the bodyguards. He was going to kill him on his private yacht five days out from shore - Wombosi's entourage would be the only suspects anyway and from Treadstone's point of view it doesn't really matter which of them ends up carrying the can as long as Jason gets away undetected.
20 years ago today. The Bourne Saga on film began. Unquestionably one of the best spy franchises. Anybody would want to be James Bond. But for me, Jason Bourne (or Ethan Hunt) was more my speed. I have the special edition of The Bourne identity with an alternate beginning and ending. The novel series by Robert Ludlum (beginning in 1980, my birth year) showed Bourne as an reluctant hero. There was a video-game in 2008 called The Bourne Conspiracy on PS3/Xbox 360. It was a retelling of the first movie and kinda fun.
Yeah, that 30 Million Dollar weapon line was just him trying to flex how much they have "invested" in him.. AS a "Weapon". In the end, they were all just expendable (to The "Agency"). This will ALWAYS be my ALL Time Favourite "Spy" Movie/Franchise.. Mission Impossible (Fallout) a Close Second. That whole scene with his "Boss", explaining to him that it was HIS idea, when and where he would Kill Wambosi.. and him transitioning to a flashback as his memory fills in The Rest. It was pure Shakespeare. Not a lot of People (especially in his line of work) would be strong enough to have that kind of Moment of Clarity, or Self Reflection.. let alone push pass it. My Favourite line in The Whole Movie is what he says after he transitions back. "I don't want to do this anymore." I say this is my favourite line because, "His whole body was saying it.. not just his calm demeanor." Which is especially funny considering what happens in The Last Movie of The Franchise.
This franchise is great for refreshing the spy action genre and making future movies more mysterious and intense, such as Casino Royale or Mission: Impossible III. It also inspired Taken. Personally I find shaky cam ok when done right, some movies overuse it but if it is toned down, you can see the action iust enough and it makes you feel like you're there in the scene. This first movie is good but I think The Bourne Ultimatum is my favourite one, it is a brilliant culmination to this trilogy and the action ramps up too. The Bourne Legacy is a good movie too imo, more on that when you watch it!

When they said he’s a $30Million dollar weapon it’s what the agency spent to train him. Delta Force Green Team tier 1 operators in Us SOCOM have an average of $40-50M in training over a 3 deployment service. Their constantly training with the very best of everything, HALO jumping regularly , firing millions of rounds in training sessions , going to special schools all over the world to gain skills. Yeah this whole series is great! You started a good one!
I love Brian Cox. If you're a fan, I would highly suggest checking out Succession on HBO. I know it's still an ongoing show 3 seasons through and I don't know if you'd want to tackle it on your channel while it's still in production, but what a great show that is. Brian Cox it incredible in that.
If you want to get in to more kids/teen movie series. Watch The Chronicles of Narnia or The Pirates of the Caribbean
I hope you watch all of them. The first 3 are definitely the best of the series. But I appreciates the 4th as well as the fifth :)
You’ve started a journey bro and I’m here with you for it 😎
✊

You deserve 1mil subs bruh 🤙
Thanks man!
@@ItsAPrimatee all G bruh 😁
Just so you know. Matt Damon isn't in the 4 one. But its still a really good one. I think it takes place during the 3 movie
The Bourne Ultimatum was, by far, the best of the series
You should check out Ocean's Eleven. Really good heist movie with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon
HOLY CRAP, I just watched - Everything Everywhere All At Once - and it felt like when I saw The Matrix for the first time. See it!
Movie: exists
ItsAPrimate: “I feel like we haven’t have a main character like die-die yet, I feel like she’s either gonna die or her stepbrother”
(Meanwhile neither of them die) 😭
💀
the trilogy so good, im glad you reac this
When they said he’s a $30Million dollar weapon it’s what the agency spent to train him. Delta Force Green Team tier 1 operators in Us SOCOM have an average of $40-50M in training over a 3 deployment service. Their constantly training with the very best of everything, HALO jumping regularly , firing millions of rounds in training sessions , going to special schools all over the world to gain skills. It’s what tax payers pay to train these guys.
