@@adriaanl1621 majority of the places have been subdivisions, eg Alberta, Tasmania, Crete, Cornwall, etc. Yes there were sole non-subdivisions such as New England but considering how inconsistent this quiz is being I’m not to surprised they used the province rather then the international region.
Lappland is a part of norway, sweden, russia and finland because all the sami lives there and has their own culture and language

I guessed Germany on Hesse and I was correct. That was a wild guess.
"Madeira" is the Portuguese word for "wood". In Spanish, it is "madera".
Tip: if a word finishes with "-eira" or "-eiro", it's very probably Portuguese (also Galician, a sister language). E.g.: Mineiro, Capoeira, Janeiro...
