I wrote this song about a "suspect" in an interrogation video. He was unhoused, addicted to drugs. Another unhoused man stole $40, which was all he had. The "suspect" hit the second man, causing a traumatic brain injury. In the video, the police officer wins the man's trust to get a confession, which he readily provides, then abruptly informs him that the victim is about to be taken off life support. She says, "You killed him. We're charging you with murder." She walks out, leaving him alone in the little room. The man sits slumped in his chair, quietly crying. Then he gets up, turns his face to the ceiling, and prays. This is his prayer.
