Rahane will be more of a mentor I guess for KKR than a player and if things goes well, they may get him into their squad as Mentor or Coach eventually. I hope that’s the plan and should be good for the franchise overall.
That's the point. This is beyond cricketing logic. Rahane was NEVER a T20 batsman. If they want to bring him as a mentor then there are better mentors out there for sure.
@@JamesHowlett-qy3yq What is a definition of having a good season? If that was the case why he was benched later on? He hardly played any T20 international matches. His strike rate is only average. Not sure what is the logic behind such selections.
Although he may not be part of the upcoming IPL, content creators are generating so much PR for him that it wouldn’t be surprising to see Prithvi featured in motivation-based ads in the near future.
It seems funny how you say the average of 23 is better than 26 when players are different. The reasons for Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant justified, I am just saying these averages are not the reason.
averages alone are obviously not the reason and that will never be the case. And of course, the metrics itself become subjective on the basis of the style of the player, their primary skill etc for starters
Averages are not subjective matter but very concrete evidence of performance of your batters not allrounder not bowlers but batters. and I already said other reasons are there and they are enough. It's just I felt some baise when you quoted averages
I think the impact player rule has a lot to do with some players not being selected as well. Should be removed, will lead to a downfall in the grooming of all rounders.
I just now subscribed your channel, your content is getting better and better and this video just proved that you guys are gonna reach a higher level in RUclips community... Great works guys🎉
While Prithvi Shaw possesses undeniable talent, he has yet to demonstrate his full potential during critical moments. A period of rest may serve him well, allowing him to return with a fierce attitude and a refined approach to the game. The journey of a cricketer is often filled with ups and downs, and resilience is key.
So, what's wrong with that. He is a brand not a stupid useless person like you who has nothing to do but just hate him because you wish to be like him 🤣🤣🤣
Are you sure he brings in negative utility? Can you explain to me on what grounds Sam Curran is considered an all rounder? As a bowler he was useless in Indian conditions ( 2023 WC being an example and he was discarded by England after that) and his batting is hardly earth shaking. I am not targeting him as a player, but logic is nowhere there in IPL team selections.
@@krishnendubasu007 The video explicitly mentioned why he was not picked: lack of discipline. What is so difficult to understand--think of him as today's Kambli. A difficult player impacts the team negatively. With so many options who needs a Shaw.
@vinayhkamath You are not getting the point. Discipline is not a selection criteria. It never was. Regarding having a number of options, a lot of players got selected who are not T20 players. Both Indians and foreigners. Many of them are not even considered by their national teams. Then why not pick a player on potential who is a very good T20 player and try to give him the chance to flourish.
Rishab Pant carry with him a lurking fear of getting hurt as he is now a Man with bones attached to one another in strings after that unforgettable car accident.
Some of the players selections were hard to understand. For example, Sam Curran still getting picked in the IPL auction when he is neither a batsman nor a bowler. Same goes true for Marco Jansen. I remember few seasons back there was a similar craze with Chris Morris. He could play only one season. MI picking Ryan Rickleton makes no sense. These South African batsmen really struggle in Indian conditions, Tristan Stubbs being an exception. Also Ricky Ponting has a poor record as a coach. His performance was way below with DC. Sure coaches can not do everything but he was clearly making tactical mistakes which was visible to everyone. Prithvi Shaw should have got a team as he has far better potential than some of the players who actually got picked. Sure he has had a poor last few seasons. But backing players on potential is a sign of a visionary leader. PS : Not targeting any player or coach personally, but only giving a few examples to get my point across regarding absurd selection criterion.
Vaibhav is not ready for IPL hope he is benched most of the season and trains and gains more experience and makes proper place in coming years, no need to rush. Shreyas Iyer was a ridiculous and selfish player, If you see him closely, you will realise how because of him preserving his own stats we have lost so many crucial matches. I have 50 examples but I have 2 which hurt the most. 1. The Gold innings of sky in australia, where the asking rate was 15+ and he still singled his way round resulting in loss. 2. once venky was at 86 and he just came to the crease in 15th over, at the end of next over iyer took a single which he didnt want to take cz next over was spinner. He abused real bad at venky for not giving him strike even when venky was the one well set. The argument you think might be that his role is to anchor, but half of the times pant got out early was cz he was selfish at the other end. Same happened with sky that day, I mean seriously, 15+ on Australian wicket with wickets in hand but he left too much for sky to do. And with Kohli, he is just an unwanted jackpot. Punjab has lost before, they will loose still. Apart from the NZ knock, he hasn't done anything in T20. For ODI he is good.
All this is s bunk of Junk...Just splashing and splurging money on cricket which is seriously not a Global contact sports...I wish they had this same promotion.. scale and salary for Indian Hockey players ..though its definitely one of the most fastest paced dangerous 90 minute games and all 11 players are really never having rest or breathers...and the tremendous skills required ...and the same goes for Football...What stops the Union Sports Minister to have daily reports on how these Universal games are being administered..and the grass roots system..world class facilities and the money given to Federations and players...We have IFL football run leagues...but the players auctioned or available are not world class... Hi....Please make a vedio about 1 case of Gatam gambhir being a batter and his downfall post 2011 WC...I think many people want this.
40% of the price is for cricketing skills, 40% for brand value and the remaining 20% is part of the auction floor navigation !!!
Supply demand is also a factor
rahane was sold and Shaw was unsold
So every team was watching everything
Retired rahane was better than shaw

the reason David warner going unsold is that he isn't a power hitter anymore, in an era of 14 + rpo in powerplay, nobody wants David warner
Are you sure that every match will be a 14+ rpo in the powerplay?
6:10 correction: he was joint highest wicket taker with average of 12 while economy was 7.16*

Brilliantly covered with great narration. Well done Boys. Subscribed 👍❤️
This is a very well structured video, covers a lot of dynamics in the IPL auction. GG guys :)
Naveen Ul Haq being unsold was biggest surprise for me
Yes, he would have been a handy bowler in Indian conditions especially under lights with the new ball.

Do make a separate video about the downfall of Prithvi Shaw and its reasons.

I would have accepted your point had it not been for some bizzare selections in the auction which was simply without any logic. 😂😂😂
Don't you think we need a left arm pacer in Red ball too like we have Arshdeep in white ball. Left Armer provides a different angle.
They are trying to position khaleel for that ..but it's too late ..Harshit Rana is another half cooked prospect for this..
@barunz4evr Yash Dayal is a good bowler in Red ball.
