In a place like the Gobi desert or in the Mongolian steppes, where there aren’t many trees around, dried dung is an excellent source of heat whether it is used for heating the home or cooking. Dried dung is essentially just dried grass, since that’s what these animals are always eating. In northern Mongolia however, dead trees or branches are used far more often since the region overlaps with the Siberian taiga forests.

The capital city is apparently the coldest capital city anywhere. And its not even that far up North. I mean You’d expect somewhere far North like Iceland to be fricking cold but it’s Mongolia of all places. Guess the continentality effect is too strong.
