I feel like this skin line could've been really well done with just different champions. The color pallet sells half of it but I honestly couldn't tell who was who for the majority of it.

For me it was really the colour palette that made the idea compelling, and I'd say it looks pretty well on a lot of the champs, but yeah they didn't too many interesting things, especially in terms of which champs made it in. I am dreaming of an Illaoi skin in a tuxedo. Her abilities would look so sick with the skin theme.
I understand the criticisms for this line, but these skins are basically a culmination of all my favorite aesthetics in one, so I fell in love with them almost instantly. To bad I don’t play any of these champions :( This goes especially for Zed, which incorporates Eldritch Horror and that jazzy dance animation. That skin alone has made me want to pick up Zed.
Personally, I like the aesthetic of the deboniar skins. I really did not want the trainer skins because I just did not see it as anything groundbreaking from the heaps of other cutesy skins like dragon trainer and star guardian. This coming from someone who's favorite skinline is probably Sugar Rush lol.
But instead of x champion in a tuxedo we could’ve gotten x champion if they were in a “league of legends champions reimagined into the Pokémon universe” type video with lazy editing and stolen art

@@Spellwork. oh no no no no, there’s these types of channels on RUclips that do like a bunch of lazy Pokémon content, making new mega evolutions, type swaps and reimagining other characters into it, sadly a lot of the art is stolen and the editing *SUCKS* but as we know riot never releases anything subpar (that’s not in the game itself) and they always have great original art.
I really can't understand why instead of "hey let's make the hot champs hotter" they tried to make Dota 1 models of Malhazar, Yi and Brand into something almost interesting...Also if Malhazar is a rich snob why his voidlings aren't really fancy high pedigree dogs?

Debonair 2.0 makes me angry over the fact that we didn’t vote for it, every region except China voted for crime city nightmare, and not only did it not get its own event, it didn’t get a prestige skin or a legendary skin. But guess what did, debonair 2.0 even though only China wanted it. And they even put both skin lines on some of the poorest quality champions with old ass animations instead of giving them visual updates.
Voting in league is like voting in a gerrymandered election. It genuinely doesn't matter what other regions want when the Chinese playbase outnumbers every region on a 5:1 ratio.

Usually my problem with these type of modern or stylish skin lines is usually the champs the choose to have and how they end up looking in the end, because having Le Blanc looking hella close to MF really threw me for a loop and the fact when i first saw the Master Yi my mind when for Aphelios first kinda makes me sad because i really love the color pallet overall, specially because i love green. And what's up with them never giving a Yordles a single one of these type of skins? Are they fucking afraid? because Arcane showed us they can work on full clothing with Heimerdinger, so why couldn't we had Tristana with a snake canon and a tuxedo?
The Zed skin to me looks like someone at Riot made a Fiddle skin, and their manager said "Fuck, no one plays Fiddle. We'll give it to... uh... Zed instead. That'll work."

malz was done dirty only reason i wanted this was cause i wanted him to get a legendary skin and if leblanc got it i might be ok but zed already has a legendary skin that is great and so do all the other champs except malz and leblanc
i actually really enjoy the high fashion and the diversity they managed to pull off with the fancy clothing. i think it's especially bold to make it so very prominently green. zed is the best one but i honestly think leona deserves an honorable mention here, the shield and sword are super slick
I am a sucker for Tuxedos and suits soooooo I love these skins. Crime City Nightmare was 100% the best of the options, but the only thing I wanted was to not get Monster Trainers. I saw Ezreal. My pure hatred for the champion took over and said no. No vote for Monster Trainer. Also Leona's my main so I think I got the deal I wanted in the end with getting both.
I have immense bias for loving any character in formal wear (particularly tuxedos and business suits), so I liked this skin line off the bat. I am a simple guy sometimes with my opinions on skins.

The thing for me is I just wish that riot would add anything new or interesting to prestige skins other than the coat of paint/slightly differ t particle effects. Maybe some new voice lines, different animations, or a new emote. They don’t need to be on the same scale as legendary/ultimate skins. (Although they could be.) given then amount of grind and effort required to acquire said skins. I just want them to feel more substantial.
I love the mob boss look with king jacket but I believe sett would have fit great in the line because he’s already a mob boss they could have made it an ultimate skin

I think we all just expected some more creativity in the skins. Like, put some characters with identifyable props in there and you got yourself a nice thematic, but Riot chose to include almost exclusively champs that boil down to *human* or *human with sword* . Draven stands out a bit because his axes are unique and identifyable, and Zed stands out because legendary. Leona stands out because woman in suit, and that's that. Brand, Yi and Malz are all just men in suits. Had they included some cooler stereotypes, the skin line could've been awesome. Examples: Gragas as a maffia boss in the debonair universe style, Quinn in a suit with an eldritch horror for a companion, Urgot as another maffia boss type. The skins tell no story, it's just people in suits, and that's a shame because it could've been so much better.
I still feel pain because the Pokémon one sounded the most interesting concept of the bunch and people didn't see it, it's like star guardian but less girly like
Bro, I would've been so happy to see a Pokemon version of Nunu and Willump, why did we need more tuxedos and dresses on champs but just colored green this time? People should have known it was going to be pretty bare and/or basic no matter what theme got picked, at least the Monster Tamers/Pokemon idea or whatever it was going to be would have been a possibly new branching out, in terms of the idea and concept overall, and something we haven't really gotten before and definitely haven't gotten a lot of just in general, for some champions that haven't been in that kind of universe before. Like imagine if we had gotten a Pikachu Kog'maw skin and he had a cool pointy electric tail along with some other cool nods and details like that in a skin line. I imagine the Monster Tamers line would have been a skin line for both some monster champions and some human champions too, so it would have been a bit more of a fair chance and mixed bag for just about all players from any of the five lanes of the game to get a skin for a champion they play or might want to pick up, but with this, we literally just got some human champions in green tuxedos and fancy recall animations, and the champion picks themselves for this line only revolved around bot lane and jungle basically.
I choose crime city nightmare bc I wanted Kai'sa to have body horror in one skin but then her concept was scrapped and she got the most ugliest skin this year how do you make arcade kaisa look good tf
The problem with this skin line is that we in fact DID NOT vote for this, Crime City was the winner but since it didn't won in China they didn't even bother to make a legendary for that skin line, instead they gave it to Debonair that did win in China, I don't know when Riot is going to understand that League IS NOT just China.
The biggest shock to this video was when you hit me with the line "Debonair LeBlanc looks like Miss Fortune" and I was like "WAIT WHAT? I THOUGHT THAT WAS MISS FORTUNE" I came in to this video with no knowledge of these skins at all and my mind was blown.
Voted for this one because I thought we could get skins for monster champs based on the elixir powered robots Malzahar used. Like a cleaner chemtech skin line
all females look the same in their splash art and thats a big problem - why are they afraid of pointing out features? In my opinion it gets bad and boring at this point... And Riot has gathered some of the best of the best when it comes to artists
seeing that leona skin really makes it clear how many leona skins suffer from what feels like designers struggling to figure out what to do with the shield so they end up with something clunky and weird looking.
Yeah I mostly agree with your thoughts on the skin line but GAHT DAYUM I JUST LOVE THAT LEONA IS ROCKING A TUXEDO. I love the waman in tuxedo aesthetic so much. I don't really know why but I think it's because it makes said woman look extremely powerful, to me anyway, and it's refreshing after fucking thousands of years of women being portrayed the other way...
If Leona had a better shield, I think this skin for her would be awesome. That suit was beautiful on her. I wish they chose the splash art concept of her in the car tho; that was fire.. but that shield just looks kinda dumb. I thought she was having a Zaunite skin when I first saw it, then remembered Riot doesn't do region-based skins anymore unless plot says otherwise. And yes; Leona did get 3 skins prior, but a good amount of the community don't count esport team skins, as they're not planned to be released.
In my honest opinion: "Wow, what a way to kill off two pretty decent skinlines." Mafia Braum literally showed us what could've been with Mafia- then, you know, we voted it to dust. Yaaay. Cafe Cutie is a great way of giving more champions French Maid skins while giving them new spell effects. Candy skins are disgustingly bright and boring at times and there's no way to actually continue the Star Guardian line due to the one behind the universe leaving- But Debonair and Crime City slaughtered its thematic tenfold. And again, you made a good point- the fore front skins for both lines are the weakest of each line. CCN Akali and Twisted Fate were really half-baked and D2.0 Malz and Leona exaggerate how old their models are. Funny.
I loved the concept art style for this line, it really reminded me of SuperGiant Games. But it really didn't translate well to League, and I'm not sure why. Maybe with a little bit of cell shading to make them pop against the background would've been good? Maybe having the same green / white / silver for the particle effects wasn't the right call, idk. Or maybe the skin designers had nothing to work with so just did their best and got onto other projects
I think there's no doubt that these are nice looking skins and athletically pleasing. My problem is when it feels like it takes away or doesn't represent the champ. Like you went over, the only character I could recognize out of the batch was Draven and Leona. The skins just feel like random characters in Fancy clothing with a funky colorway.
tbf its a aesthetic thing either your gonna love it or thinks is just a bunch of champs in suits sometimes also I think the brand prestige skin works for this line just by the gold making him seem like more of a blow heart.
If I'm being completely honest I only voted for this skin line because I liked both the palete and leona's concept for it, and didn't want lux to get a new skin, which was pretty likely to happen with the pokémon one

The skinline confused me. I thought Yi was Talon. I thought LeBlanc was Leona until I saw the actual Leona splash. I thought Zed was Pyke at first. Last of all of the life of I could tell brand was supposed to be brand. I looked at the splash for so long trying to figure out who it was and gave up and looked who it was and I was unimpressed by the skin.
The team has truly committed themselves to making the most boring skins for these last 3 batches. Do the high-noon universe, Nicky, you know it's a good one.
I like Debonair only because I'm a draven simp and because I like the monstrous side they took with Zed for it, because the "wolf in sheep's clothing trope" (Or in this case moreso...cthulu in humanoid clothing?) is always fun. BUT I do wish they would've given that same energy to CCN TF, who would've been a PHENOMENAL legendary.

Examples: Gragas as a maffia boss in the debonair universe style, Quinn in a suit with an eldritch horror for a companion, Urgot as another maffia boss type. The skins tell no story, it's just people in suits, and that's a shame because it could've been so much better.

Bro, I would've been so happy to see a Pokemon version of Nunu and Willump, why did we need more tuxedos and dresses on champs but just colored green this time? People should have known it was going to be pretty bare and/or basic no matter what theme got picked, at least the Monster Tamers/Pokemon idea or whatever it was going to be would have been a possibly new branching out, in terms of the idea and concept overall, and something we haven't really gotten before and definitely haven't gotten a lot of just in general, for some champions that haven't been in that kind of universe before. Like imagine if we had gotten a Pikachu Kog'maw skin and he had a cool pointy electric tail along with some other cool nods and details like that in a skin line.
I imagine the Monster Tamers line would have been a skin line for both some monster champions and some human champions too, so it would have been a bit more of a fair chance and mixed bag for just about all players from any of the five lanes of the game to get a skin for a champion they play or might want to pick up, but with this, we literally just got some human champions in green tuxedos and fancy recall animations, and the champion picks themselves for this line only revolved around bot lane and jungle basically.
I choose crime city nightmare bc I wanted Kai'sa to have body horror in one skin but then her concept was scrapped and she got the most ugliest skin this year how do you make arcade kaisa look good tf

The problem with this skin line is that we in fact DID NOT vote for this, Crime City was the winner but since it didn't won in China they didn't even bother to make a legendary for that skin line, instead they gave it to Debonair that did win in China, I don't know when Riot is going to understand that League IS NOT just China.
The biggest shock to this video was when you hit me with the line "Debonair LeBlanc looks like Miss Fortune" and I was like "WAIT WHAT? I THOUGHT THAT WAS MISS FORTUNE" I came in to this video with no knowledge of these skins at all and my mind was blown.

I don't really know why but I think it's because it makes said woman look extremely powerful, to me anyway, and it's refreshing after fucking thousands of years of women being portrayed the other way...

If Leona had a better shield, I think this skin for her would be awesome. That suit was beautiful on her. I wish they chose the splash art concept of her in the car tho; that was fire.. but that shield just looks kinda dumb. I thought she was having a Zaunite skin when I first saw it, then remembered Riot doesn't do region-based skins anymore unless plot says otherwise.
And yes; Leona did get 3 skins prior, but a good amount of the community don't count esport team skins, as they're not planned to be released.
As a leblanc main for years, I love her new skin, I wish she would get more skins tho

Cafe Cutie is a great way of giving more champions French Maid skins while giving them new spell effects. Candy skins are disgustingly bright and boring at times and there's no way to actually continue the Star Guardian line due to the one behind the universe leaving-
But Debonair and Crime City slaughtered its thematic tenfold. And again, you made a good point- the fore front skins for both lines are the weakest of each line. CCN Akali and Twisted Fate were really half-baked and D2.0 Malz and Leona exaggerate how old their models are.

I loved the concept art style for this line, it really reminded me of SuperGiant Games. But it really didn't translate well to League, and I'm not sure why. Maybe with a little bit of cell shading to make them pop against the background would've been good? Maybe having the same green / white / silver for the particle effects wasn't the right call, idk.
Or maybe the skin designers had nothing to work with so just did their best and got onto other projects

I think there's no doubt that these are nice looking skins and athletically pleasing. My problem is when it feels like it takes away or doesn't represent the champ. Like you went over, the only character I could recognize out of the batch was Draven and Leona. The skins just feel like random characters in Fancy clothing with a funky colorway.

If I'm being completely honest I only voted for this skin line because I liked both the palete and leona's concept for it, and didn't want lux to get a new skin, which was pretty likely to happen with the pokémon one

The skinline confused me. I thought Yi was Talon. I thought LeBlanc was Leona until I saw the actual Leona splash. I thought Zed was Pyke at first. Last of all of the life of I could tell brand was supposed to be brand. I looked at the splash for so long trying to figure out who it was and gave up and looked who it was and I was unimpressed by the skin.
