This is yet another reminder that unless it’s not Proportional Representation, then it’s not democracy. 👋🏻

      Haha! Good spot! Massive typo.
      “Unless it is…”
My beef with this is that as more options get added, more people “make” the wine that they don’t want.
35% might win a vote, but 65% of people don’t get the thing they want at any given time.
Dude here needs to have a system of points where you give the maximum points to your favourite and so on and so forth, so at least your “losing votes” are worth something.

Interesting! Or perhaps the more you pay, the more points you get?

      No. That’s pay to win.
By the system outlined, as I understand it, the earlier you’re in, the more say you get. That makes sense. You paid your money upfront and the company gets to spend it. So you get more decisions.
Ultimately what I’m saying is that for anything other than a 50:50 choice, you should be able to tier your choices.
So I wanna put four points into Frappato because I think that’s interesting, but knowing it’s not popular, put three into Nero, two into Chard and only one into “Big Heavy Shiraz”. That way, “Big Heavy Shiraz” has to get more First Place Four Point Scores to accurately represent “Wine for the People”.
