4:06 A jibe at someone who just turned up uninvited at ATV Centre on a Saturday morning in the late 70s to early 80s to badger Chris, Sally and company with his jokes.
Had _Win, Lose or Draw_ started on ITV by this point? [EDIT] Yes, he does mention that show. The entire Danny Baker run and Shane Richie's only series were made at the Gateway Theatre in Edinburgh, before production moved to Scottish Television's main studios at Cowcaddens in Glasgow.
Like all good South-East Londoners he has seen sense and crossed the hallowed Blackheath which is the natural dividing line from Inner ( Deptford/Lewisham/New Cross etc ) London to the gateway to the Kent Suburbs. He actually has a lovely house in Blackheath. Inevitable move.
Is it sad that my taste in interior design has clearly not moved on much from 1990 as my house looks quite similar in 2018 to Baker's house does back then?
There is no way that "our" Dan lives in Deptford now it has been over-run thanks to Tony Blair's Open Door Policy and Mass Immigration, originally, in South London from Jamaica, in particular and the rest of The Caribbean and more latterly Africa itself. Almost certainly moved over Blackheath Hill which, effectively, seperates Multi-Cultural INNER South-East London to Blackheath and onto The Outer London Kent Suburbs. I GUARANTEE he is now there as this was 1990..lol
Isleofskye You’re wrong. Read his books. Yes he’s moved to Blackheath, but it’s because this house was too small for their new baby. No mention of Blair or immigration, you Gammon.
Similar move. Like so any S E Londoners I moved out to the very edge of Outer London and Kent with the greatest of reluctance 38 years ago and while it has been fantastic with no problems worth mentioning since 1983, I still miss the Inner London vibe especially as I lived oner a very busy market with THe Walworth Road at one end and THe Old Kent Road at the far end Doug. Did you move?
This just demonstrates how different this area is Doug. I will leave my Suburbab Street tomorrow and virtually see no one until I get into the Park and yet when I lived over THe Market on top off THe Walworth Road I used to see hundreds of people most days. I love it here and it's safe but I do miss the characters and vibe of that whole area. Good Luck..
I remember seeing this (about 1992). Great memories of how good TV was back then. People don't understand what they have missed.
That house looked amazing! I loved the bedroom furniture! Lol haha there too many clues of the books! And the radio!
Love Danny's final joke about " wasting no time" to Chris Tarrant.
Clever and knowledgeable South-East Londoner is our Danny...
My Mate Kevin lived on Scawen Road where Danny lived. We often saw him. Lovely guy.
Because remember, The clues are their! As we go throuuughhh the keyhole!!!!
They really don't do TV shows like they use to.

Look at the state of Danny's suit!!
Lets look that evidence who lives in a house like this! David its over to you!
He would have been virtually unknown outside the London region at the time. ... oh Danny mentions that.

Deptford fun city records.
Lol 9,55 banging fist on the table.
I wonder where Wendy lets him keep his record collection? Or maybe he has a separate house for it...
