    Are you adjusting the black plastic set screw on the side? This is where you change the relative friction of the rotational aspect of the vise. Let me know if that helps. I sent a note to Griffin to get further information, but I don't believe you should need additional lubrication.

    it is big compare to my other vise, tying to sell it away. don't get the wrong idea. I got the super Renzetti Master and the Griffin spider which is very nice to use.

    No where as near the vise that a Norvise is. Looks clunky. Norvise rotates, a separate bobbin holder/post separate from the vise. Can't see why you need a movable material holder. Norvise has a cam lever set of strong jaws as well. Just an excellent product. I love the Norvise and it's bobbin system.

      As a commercial tyer since 1985 I tried the Norvise--Didn't like it - sent it back - and went back to my trusted Mongoose.
