Heating pcb underneath is an alternative method for soldering temperature sensitive components as smd leds or smd push buttons for the remote controllers.

This is trick for led strips from TV backlight which also can work in some different situations , but as creator said, never never use hot air direct to the LED , if you do not destroy it you will dramatically shorten lifespan of LED

there's pad in the middle of the led and it's not possible to heat it with a soldering iron. you can heat one side too much to solder three pads at once to the board but it might kill the led

Great video! I was looking everywhere for how to do this. Whole strips are expensive
I would have cleaned the pads. Remove old solder. Clean again tin flux. Resolder

Thanks for sharing this, if I use solder flux and solder iron to remove and replace the new smd, it will work right? Unluckly i don't have a hot gun
