  • Launched the kayak into a flock of birds and schools of Bass. Despite the fact they were eating tiny 1" bait, they still hit a 7" Doc, 8" flutter spoon, and 6" metal lip all the same.

    That’s so encouraging to see a large abundance of different year fish. Lots of anglers, lots of fish getting caught and released (undamaged)…. Great fishing for years to come !

    Was hoping for an XL live-lined mack lol. This was better though. Well done man and great job landing all those fish with the single hook! Skillz. I only get 2 weeks vacation a year, in October, but I spend every one of those days fishing the beaches from Watch Hill to Charlestown breachway. Hope to see you around one of these days. Where have all the gator blues gone? Not got any in years now. Did get my first albie last year though. On a giant x-rap bunker color, of all things haha. Had great luck on the Mad Mantis last year. My buddy's go-to lure is a white spook just like yours. I abandoned chunkin pretty much altogether a few years ago but your last vid has inspired me to bust out the sand spikes. Thanks for all the videos, keep em coming, gets me psyched up for my fall trip!

      the blues just dont seem to like to hit the shorelines, I tend to get a few days where Ill get a bunch each year in may, this year was my slowest year yet though only catching 2 all season. Get out in a boat though and you cant get away from them

      @@ChrisMcIntee Yea, that's what I've heard. Just odd that they don't roam the beaches the way they used to. Thanks!

    Dude, that's awesome fishing. Your lucky to have schools on bas close to shore like that. How many weeks do you have that kinda fishing available by the kayak?

    • @ChrisMcIntee
      @ChrisMcIntee  Месяц назад +1

      really theres action like this all season, late april through to about halloween. Each year is a little different but june is great, july may be a little slower but still you can find roaming schools of fish. August same thing, sometimes it may be tough but sometimes theres big schools everywhere. Sept/Oct, bass everywhere.

      @mrpoconojoe Месяц назад

      @ChrisMcIntee yeah I'm from central jersey and it's hard to find them in barnaget bay in numbers like that. Plus it's way easier if your in a boat. Props to you for slaying them in a yak

    Bro, what depth when you use spoon?

    • @ChrisMcIntee
      @ChrisMcIntee  Месяц назад +1

      this day anywhere 20'-50'... seems to work better in deeper water, 50-70', though I have only done this a handful of times. Last year I tried it in june and july in the ocean and had almost no luck with it even when there were plenty of bass on the screen.

    How resistant to flipping is that Kayak?
    how difficult is it to stand on it and fish at the same time?

    • @ChrisMcIntee
      @ChrisMcIntee  Месяц назад +1

      its very stable, very easy to stand and fish as long as its not too rough. I feel very comfortable standing on it. its the old town predator which they no longer make but is pretty much exactly the same as their sportsman.

  • @Redcrown48
    @Redcrown48 Месяц назад

    It's surprising that they would hit the flutter spoon or anything bigger that what they were eating. I guess they found it irresistible. A good price too, although I wouldn't like to loose too many of them. A single hook, I guess you added a split ring & changed the hook. You have to be careful with split rings the fish get an advantage and get off.

    • @ChrisMcIntee
      @ChrisMcIntee  Месяц назад

      definitely lucky they were hitting big lures when they were eating tiny bait... does not always work out like that. Early in the season when the water is cold they seem to be more cooperative

    • @tonynicoletti8161

      Its called spiral or acid wrapped. Been around for a long time. It reduces the torque or twist when fisjing conventionals.

    • @Sir_Defyable
      @Sir_Defyable Месяц назад +1

      Uses more strength out of the rod blank too so typically you can use heavier jigs with a spiral wrapped casting rod
