Quintessential Buck !! He was so bad ass !!This song was on an LP released just before Don Rich was killed in a motorcycle accident. Also was Ralph Mooney's last recording session with Buck.He hadn't played on Buck's records for many years prior to this.

      Thanks for your insight!
I wondered what recordings were Don's last ones with Buck
      Don too was "bad ass"!

Buck Owens aka the "Bakersfield Guru". Few country singers have reached the level of Buck and Buckaroos in their hey days. Amazing band . BTW who played fiddle on this song? Jana or Don? mos60

Don played fiddle. Jana Jae did not come around till the late 70's.

Buck's son Buddy Alan had a really good version of this, but I always liked Buck's version better. Many Thanks Tom!!!

My mistake. That's Jerry Brightman on the pedal steel not Ralph Mooney. Sadly, Jerry passed away earlier this month, at age 61. RIP!!

Buck always had the best pedal steel guys around. Tom Brumley, Jee Dee Maness, Jerry, Ralph, and others. All the best around. mos60

I love Buck Owens, but on this one, I think I like Tony Booth's version better.
