    The Deebo- Brock NECESSARY connection is highly questionable. The small sample size, 5 games and other factors in those five games: concussion, weather, bad games from everyone are normal, ...etc. Plus the fact that the Niners won the fifth game with a final drive, and the Niners lost the first game because they missed a very makeable field goal after driving into field goal range.

  • @elliotb1795

    There's only 1 elite quarterback in the playoffs right now and that's Mahomes
    No one else has won a title and only Goff has gotten to the Super Bowl before.
    You're not elite until you win it all. And honestly you're not actually elite until you can do it multiple times.
    If Goff gets back to the Super Bowl it means he's gotten there twice. It would go Mahomes, then Goff, then the other guys.
    In my opinion you're not elite until you prove it and none of these guys outside of Mahomes have proved anything yet. Goff is the closest but he's not there. And I'm not gonna sit here and act like Jackson is there yet either because he beat the Texans... Thata not even close enough to call you elite.

      I don't know about that. Dan Marino was elite but he never won a Superbowl. Warren Moon never won a Superbowl as a player he is elite for sure. It is hard to get to the Superbowl let alone win one.

    Seems like a lot of people are overlooking how young a player Brock is. He is only going to get better over the next few seasons I would think. I remember early in the year how Green Bay fans were all in a panic about Jordon Love and I was figuring just be patient he will be a solid QB for them. I'm a Lions fan stats don't matter leadership and winning games does. Brock has what matters quit hating on their QB he has done what he was supposed to do so far. Jared has done the same for us. This game should be really good.

    • @segagenesis7708
      @segagenesis7708 8 месяцев назад +1

      Honestly, in general, I don't think that's the issue at all. The crux of the issue is that most fans think Brock Purdy is 'Good' and better than Jimmy G, but not 'Elite'. And 49ers fans get hyper defensive about that and list a bunch of stats, before declaring that others must not watch games. Then, we watch Purdy against Baltimore and the man should have honestly thrown 7 picks. Then, we watch him against Green Bay and he should have thrown 4. I mean, we're not talking one bad throw in the game. Most QBs will have that. We're talking 4, 5, 6, 7 passes, that one could argue, should have been picked. Then, 9ers fans play the victim and feel that Purdy is being held to an unfair standard for someone in their second season. Because they want him to have the title of being an 'Elite' QB, without the pressure and scrutiny that comes with it. Without holding him to that standard. Everyone for the most part agrees that he's a good young QB, who happens to be in the best situation for a QB in the league. And there's nothing wrong with that, but that's just not enough for Purdy fans and Niners fans.

    • @michaelroberts6450
      @michaelroberts6450 8 месяцев назад

      That is a reasonable take on it.

    • @Jason-tr2pt

      @@segagenesis7708 This is not the crux of it. Maybe recently there's been some discussion around it, but the issue that Niner fans have had even going back to last year is that Brock Purdy is simply not getting the respect he deserves and is being discredited so much for his accomplishments. "They have so many weapons, anyone can QB that team". I know you've heard that one. Does that sound like people saying Purdy is good? Or, "If Purdy was on Carolina, he would not do as well", which obviously applies to almost every QB but they don't say about any other QB, just Purdy. How about "He's just a dink and dunk QB", "All his yards come from YAC", which are just incorrect statements and easily disproven with stats. All season long people were saying "let's see how he does without all his weapons and has to play from behind". After the win against GB, the narrative is "But he played so bad until that last drive and should have been picked twice". Does any other QB get knocked for "shoulda been" picks as much as Purdy? Every QB has some. So of course there's a double standard here. If the discussion was just whether Purdy is Good vs Elite, the debates would not be so contentious.

    As a bears fan Rex Grossman made 4 NFC championships and a Super Bowl. Not saying Brock Purdy is Rex Grossman, nobody in the NFL is as bad as sexy rexy, and Brock isn’t anywhere near as bad as Rex. However, he’s no where near elite. Brock manages the game well, he can win you games, and possibly win a SuperBowl, I don’t think they will this yr I think the winner of the AFC will beat SF in the SB, but elite is reserved for like 2-4guys. Mahomes, Lamar, and possibly Burrow and Allen.

      Manages the game?? I'm tired of you casuals that clearly don't watch him play with ur lazy takes. He LEADS THE NFL IN DEEP PASSING. He lead all qbs in almost every qb stat. He keeps plays alive until someone gets open, makes tight window layered throws with anticipation and drops 45 yard dots. In what world is that not basically elite. He's the best qb in the nfc and outplayed every qb in the afc this year too

      Sometimes a game manager is all you need in playoff games. I believe QB needs to be graded on a curve for playoffs. Cause not every QB can play against nothing to lose defenses in these situations. In my opinion, regular season QB completion rates are like above 80, but playoffs going to be subpar 60 to 70. A level of difficulty QB should be measured. Also a wining team in the reg, are not the same in playoffs. Their either better or worst.

    There are 4 elite QBs in the NFL: Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson
    But Purdy is young Brady reincarnated. He is the 6th best QB in my opinion. Brock is only in his second year. Josh was not elite until his 3rd year in the NFL.
    There are two main types of QBs: Elite QBs and Franchise QBs
    Purdy is, along with Stafford (my 5th ranked QB), the best Franchise QB in the NFL.
    You can win a SB with a Franchise QB, but your organization has to surround you with higher quality talent, which makes it harder to sustain long-term success. Goff and Purdy are high-end franchise QBs. Lamar and Mahomes are elite QBs.

    Nothing but love and respect for GK-- Gerald McCoy! He went to HS with my daughter--all 5'2" 100 lbs. of her and was her "protector" of sorts--always a friend, always respectful, funny and wicked smart (as they say). I am only disappointed that the injuries kept him from having his full impact on the field with my beloved Raiders late in his career. Absolutely great guest too, and I hope he makes many more appearances.

    Deebo connection narrative not true. Last year he was 3-0 without Deebo. This year, the games without Deebo just happen to be games where Trent Williams was also out. Missing Trent is the bigger issue. It turns the Niner Oline into bottom of the barrel, this truly effecting Purdy, which makes total sense. Purdy can definitely win without Deebo, he’s done it. Missing Trent on that terrible Oline is a different story. Check your facts.

    I don't agree with the Deebo connection - Brock won three games in his first year without Deebo. The three games they lost this year when Deebo was out, they also didn't have Trent Williams and Christian McCaffrey wasn't there either. Brock also got concussed against the Vikings, but people don't consider that. Again, against the Browns, he drove them into winning field goal range, but Moody missed the kick. I have a good feeling about this game against the Lions. The Niners should be fine.
