Best thing about malayalam cinema how stars have no ego issues in playing a supporting actor role. 3 directors of- thallumala, parava and driving license playing a non prominent role.
Malayalam Movies, a delight to watch. They are not afraid of experimenting with actors and their actors don't carry their stardom on the sleeves. The Directors are not afraid to approach them with new scripts. Another thing I observe in Malayalam movies are the natural ambience they create for each scene and the natural acting that supports the script immensely. The senior actors or the young generation are not afraid to experiment with their looks and personality. Premalu was a fresh delight after watching crap like Jawan, Pathan, Tiger3, Fighter which made no sense, just riding on the stardom with enormous budgets. Bollywood needs to unlearn, learn and grow for sure.

Welcome to our society, as a malayali who likes to boast a lot ABT kerala . I'd say ,malayalis are deep people. You can't really see "plain humans" much there.
You have a valid point! The thing is, in Kerala, art forms and literature has a special place in the culture, and evolution of Kerala as a state itself. The governments of Kerala, have been setting up this culture from the inception stages. There are several programs in the school level to promote art, literature (and scientific temper too). There are Kerala School Kalolsavam (art competitions), Sahithya Samajam (for literature activities), Sasthrolsavam (for science, maths and IT) at school level. There are, interschool, inter districts and then up to state level competitions for each of these. Moreover, there is a reading culture developed through local libraries (called Vayanashala) funded by the government as well as local clubs. I don't know if any other state has a special period every week in schools exclusively for performing any kind of art in each class. Children can perform, dance, mono act, mimicry or sing in front of their classmates. Above all, these competition winners in state level will get grace marks in public exams. In short, a state has already achieved a good literacy rate, where going to school is a must for everyone, even in remote villages, all these nourishes art in everyone who has any talent. There is a lot more to say. But it's getting long...

Most ot the non Malayali audience think that, this is golden era of Malayalam movies. But that's not right, the best movies with strong storylines came out in 80s, 90s and 20s. Now a days Malayalam movies got audience outside kerala, that's the difference.
The quality of manjumelboys is top notch. From acting to screen play, dialogs and cinematography, the movie deserves all the credit and success it is having right now.
I don't know who to give credit to here. The songs fit so perfectly with the storyline that I could barely pay attention to the song. Once the movie was over I started to listen to the songs and I could recollect the whole scene by just listening to the song.
One of the very good movie, "Anveshippin kandethum" staring Tovino seems to get skipped by non malayalees as other 3 are must theatre watch. It is made so real, and not a thriller with so much cinematic twists, but really believable narration, to be watched and mentioned.
Considerably smaller budget movies compared to the rest of Indian film industries, making a good return at the box office, making family audiences happy, making new gen audiences happy, making cinema-fireheads happy, making critics happy, basically successful in any way possible. Malayalam industry doing what every film-makers dream off achieving. and it's only 2 months into the year.
The Manjummel Boys being a rea life story & the real life people saying they saw their life on screen is the magic of the Team & each & every department ! Mammukka , Arjun Ashokan & Siddhart Bharatan just hella convincing in their characters In Bramyugam & the light hearted wholesomeness of Premalu is What is called an Amazing start to the year !
Anveshippin kandethum is a also excellent movie. But is missing theater run. Problem with releasing all good movies in a month. All 4 movies are excellent. As someone said in comment section. First time am seeing 4 movies continuosly in theater
There are dozens of rajmouli type directors in Kerala. But thing is that, they can't produce films like bahubali or ekka type movies, which has no relevance to reality.
I have watched all three and i must say, south indian movies are really unique and so fresh and authentic, in this case malyalam cinema gave us diamonds.
It's not that Bollywood or any other film industries can't do such movies but it's the malayalee audience who affirms allegiance and confidence to the directors to make such experimental films...

Actually, you left the most important soul of the Manchummel boys the song of Guna "KANMANI ANBODU KADHALAN" which is beautifully placed when the frnd survives transcripting the most reserved song for love for many generations since Kamal's movie with its deepest soulful lyrics is transcended to friendship situation now was outstanding and that earned hearts for this movie in TN & Kerala. The lyrics with that level of meaning was a perfect sit & fit for that situation!!!!!!! The “Malayalam Barbenheimer” is oddly fitting as the Bramayugam-Premalu (Dubbed Bramalu or Premayugam) overshadowed theatrical run of another good movie ‘Anweshippin Kandethum’ (starring Tovino Thomas) just like Barbie & Oppenheimer did to Mission impossible: Dead reckoning part 1
hats off to Malayalam writers/creators. Years of being consistent and self aware. they never complain about budget or not getting recognized in international platforms. they kept making good movies, without trying too hard to be international like other language movies did. this is the right recognition, hope they dont get carried away and continue making these gems!
2024 looks like it's going to be tbe year of Malayalam cinema. Creative and imagine "non-massy" films that being celebrated by the masses. Rest of India needs to get the Hindi dubbed version of all three of these movies.

Even "Anweshippin Kandethum" starring Tovino Thomas is a good film. It got sandwiched between "Premalu" and "Bramayugam" and couldn't attract mass audience to the theatre. If it was a solo release,it would have been a box office success. I Then there was "Aattam" ,it is an award winning movie but couldn't win big at the box office . Do check out "Aattam" when it releases in the OTT It is an amazing film. By the way the Malayalam intro was🔥🔥🔥🔥
You did it rlly well Jammy 'Chetta'.. u could have auditioned for Kerala Story, ur pronunciation of a whole dialogue in malayalam is way better than the pronunciation of any single malayalam word in the whole movie 😂😂
You should see Naslen in films like Gireesh AD's directorial debut Thanneer Mathan Dinangal, Super Sharanya, Jo and Jo and for once, he changed tracks with Kuruthi.Like Mathew, Naslen should get also chance in K'wood someday (Unpopular opinion:-K'wood now basically has above 30, tier 2 talents like SK, Manikandan, Harish Kalyan, Ashok Selvan, Vijay Sethupathi and Sundeep Kishan, Dhanush and STR also, thereby lacking that below 30 casting nowadays).
His SUPER SARANYA was one of the worst character ever made. Saranya is a girl who doesn't have a stand of her own and all the boys in the panchayat is behind her (ostensibly for her 'village kind' beauty). She fell for a guy because he has golden fish. Inspite of all these, she is called "SUPER"😂. Her roomate is a sensible girl who gives correct advice but she was portrayed as a villain. Toxic senior and his activites are portrayed as comedies. Never recommend / promote such writers
@@nabeel9020 It is still watchable only for him despite being an average film. His roles, his mannerisms somewhere reminds me of old Dileep or Vijay films (when they were doing films like Vettam, Mr Buttler, Vaseegara, Kushi, Love Today).

This phenomenon of 3-4 directors acting in one movie and coming together for others movie happens only in malayalam. So proud of our little industry. Even in Bramayugam sidharth is also a director himself, but their craft comes to them naturally. Wonderful movies this year. ❤
Just watched Manjummel Boys. Its an edge of the seat survival thriller(second half). Character establishment is interwoven in the ongoing narrative.Crux of the theme is made clear through that Kamal's Guna song.Good watch..
Just so much happy with the turn the industry has taken. Only 10 or so hits in the past year to 6 great movies in the two opening months. And aavesham, goat life, varshangalkk shesham, ARM in the pipeline. I have never wanted the industry to push the revenue boundaries and collect thousands of crores in the box office because that dilutes the art of it. All mass movies in the recent times has the same trajectory and character buildup. But this, this is cinema. ❤ The only industry in the country that asks their stars to prove their acting talent at the peak of their existence, the only industry where a movie like Bhramayugam comes out and collects a healthy run, an industry where all the collection numbers are made by movies of different genres rather than mass movies alone. The more I think about it, the more I want Malayalam industry to stay the same
TBH, Malaikottai Vaaliban wasn't great but still wasn't bad also and something that might age well, possibly in the future, rather than his Narasimham, Thaandavam, and Red Chillies (this film was like a commentary on being alpha male, quite contrary to Shaji's films which are my guilty pleasures but they don't age well).

I never seen this much craze for malayalam movie in Tamilnadu , manjummel boys ruling Tamilnadu
I think I know basic to intermediate malayalam after watching consistent movies
I once believed actor Dileep had his grip on Malayalam movies or some sort of control over it. Where only his stupid senseless movies were pushed to the audience. Now that he is out of the picture, the Malayalam movie industry is thriving.

Ee varsham Malayala cinema kundu pogum, adipoli brother. You said it well, make me your Malayalam teacher 😉
Appreciate the effort monuse 😊
And guess what. This is just a beginning Jammy!! Wait for Aadujeevitham, Aavesham, Varshangalku shesham, ARM, Kathanar, Nadigar, Turbo and the list just goes on for the year. You also missed Tovino starrer Anweshippin Kandethum which is doing a decent job in box office amidst all these releases. This has to be the best time for Malayalam movie lovers in ages❤❤
Right now atleast K'wood is in crisis atleast with them now relying on re-releases of films like Thirumalai, Vaali, Annamalai, V1000 and M'wood is raking in huge nos from TN too 👍👍
Waiting turbo From karnataka❤
Hindi movies like😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂full comedy and no gravity ,no logic,no story.
telugu movies also like that.
Now tamil and kannada movies become better because they observe malayalam movies and they try to better.

Most ot the non Malayali audience think that, this is golden era of Malayalam movies. But that's not right, the best movies with strong storylines came out in 80s, 90s and 20s. Now a days Malayalam movies got audience outside kerala, that's the difference.

100% correct....and also in south india malayalam got most national awards for movies and actors
The quality of manjumelboys is top notch. From acting to screen play, dialogs and cinematography, the movie deserves all the credit and success it is having right now.
Music of Pemalu by Vishnu Vijay is highly underrated !
No premalu sings and bgm are huge hits
huge hits bro ! addicted
I don't know who to give credit to here. The songs fit so perfectly with the storyline that I could barely pay attention to the song. Once the movie was over I started to listen to the songs and I could recollect the whole scene by just listening to the song.
Poor Tovino.. his movie was good but its come at a time when theee monsters released
One of the very good movie, "Anveshippin kandethum" staring Tovino seems to get skipped by non malayalees as other 3 are must theatre watch. It is made so real, and not a thriller with so much cinematic twists, but really believable narration, to be watched and mentioned.
Tovino Thomas movie anweshippuin kandetthum and Vinay forrt's Family is also a must watch from this month.
Now the wait is for Adujeevitham, Aavesham, Malayalee from India, Varshangalkku shesham ❤❤❤

Problem with releasing all good movies in a month.
All 4 movies are excellent. As someone said in comment section. First time am seeing 4 movies continuosly in theater
But it's good movie..8.5 rating..i like ..watch twice
Further proof of what SS Rajamouli said, Malayalam cinema has the best writing
There are dozens of rajmouli type directors in Kerala. But thing is that, they can't produce films like bahubali or ekka type movies, which has no relevance to reality.

Anweshippin Kandethum released on the same day as Premalu. Bramayugam came a week later. Anweshippin Kandethum is also a pretty solid procedural.

Means although, Guna's(Kamalhassan) level of love was deep yet a fictional movie but to know that the storyline is real(inspired from true events) and felt finally alike giving real birth to such soulful lyrics through this movie❤

7:31 in the movie, the people who are against the team of these actors are the "real Manjummel Boys".. this movie is based on their life.. it's a real life story.. so the director decided to show them in the movie..

Premalu is ironically the best Telugu movie of tbe year despite being a Malayalam film 😂
Dune 2 is also big budget scfi movies why Indian cinema don't make this kind of movies

Kindly include anweshipin kandethum movie also. You nailed it
Even "Anweshippin Kandethum" starring Tovino Thomas is a good film. It got sandwiched between "Premalu" and "Bramayugam" and couldn't attract mass audience to the theatre.
If it was a solo release,it would have been a box office success. I
Then there was "Aattam" ,it is an award winning movie but couldn't win big at the box office .

Please watch Tovino Thomas movie "Anweshippin Kandethum".. Its also too good.. Its investigation crime thriller.. If possible please watch..!! Because of other 3 movie this month this get unnoticed.. But it has got good viewership in theatre in initial days..!!
This phenomenon of 3-4 directors acting in one movie and coming together for others movie happens only in malayalam. So proud of our little industry. Even in Bramayugam sidharth is also a director himself, but their craft comes to them naturally. Wonderful movies this year. ❤
enikku vayya 😇😍
Just watched Manjummel Boys. Its an edge of the seat survival thriller(second half). Character establishment is interwoven in the ongoing narrative.Crux of the theme is made clear through that Kamal's Guna song.Good watch..
That " ee Varsha malayala cinema Kunda pokum " 😂😂
The more I think about it, the more I want Malayalam industry to stay the same
For me if i rank Bhamayugam is first, Manjumal boys is second and premalu 3d ..
Manjumal boys majority of actors are real life directors 😂
Soubin shahir
Jean lal
Khalid rahman
You would have enjoyed premalu more..if you could understand various slangs and dialects of malayalam language
Had high hopes on malaikotai valliban but sadly it failed. Still have high hopes on lalettan's upcoming films after neru
Mark my words, Mohanlal will be back. He will once again set the pace. The benchmark. Lalettan will be back.
I feel AaduJeevitham( aka Goat life releasing on March 28) has the potential to outclass all these movies
Indeed.
