  • The risk taken with #kaathalthecore by #mammootty is truly praiseworthy. This #jyotika starrer is a gem from #malayalam cinema directed by #jeobaby who previously made #thegreatindiankitchen . The film has been the talk of town in #kerala for it got banned in the gulf market for its themes! I hope you like the Kaathal The Core Movie Review & Analysis | Mammootty | Jyotika | Jeo Baby | Banned In Gulf Countries?

In an interview, Mammootty was telling that he misunderstood cinema at some point by making movies that people like. Now, he told, "I am doing the movies that I like to do". And he's excelling in it by giving back to back hits.

With superstars like 𝑨𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒉 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏, 𝑹𝒂𝒋𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒉 and 𝑲𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒂𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏 existing in Indian Cinema; no one has stepped up with great courage to entirely act and bankroll a film that talks about a differing human perspective. Mammootty has given a career-defining performance in "Kaathal".

What's most astonishing is the fact that how he has reinvented himself during the COVID lockdown. Establishing a new production house and rolling out movies like Rorschach, nanpakal nerath mayakkam and kathal has been the best artistic decision that he could make. All of them unique in their own ways...varied genres and a never seen before mammookka. ❤

But sir, its not in Covid when he started that, even during his early movies like Mrugya. In malalyalam cinema, the emphasis by all the actors past and present was story telling with a lot of financial constraints.

    • @davidvgeorge
      @davidvgeorge 10 месяцев назад +9

I would agree that he reinvented himself as an actor during covid but that's a process that he carried on for most part off his career not just now. And the final statement, 'a never seen before mammookka' can be said in different times of his career. If he able to continue like this, after 10 years, some other guy would say the same about mammookka. He's an actor who carry that pr0cess through out his career.

Then the vintage concept occurs for actors who did comercial films in their younger days I mean actors who were capable to single handedly do action romance comedy dance lyp sync senti all together .mamotty never did all these things together so the nostalgia factor is less when we refer even the entertainment films of mamokka. When we make a playlist of vintage songs mamotty stands way behind mohanlal or even dileep . Cuz mamotty mostly failed in entertainment genre but has exceeded in arthouse films also he was always seen as actor who does stout serious and emotional roles since 80s and look at his recent films nanpakal, kaadhal , Rorschach puzhu all are emotionally Linked .sl

I feel like it's the biggest in Indian cinema because I don't expect any big actor for example a srk or a Salman or a Vijay or any star who has a massive fanbase to take up a role like this and portray it in a really humane way without making a comedy piece out of it. In 𝙈𝙖𝙢𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙮's case, we feel a lot more attached to the actor because he is an emotion for many Malayalis within Kerala and across the globe. Therefore, when the 'Megastar' himself has arrived to portray his version, then it's a clear indication to the society that they must move on and accept the changes that are happening around them.
When other actors had performed around the LGBTQ themes, we as viewers do not get much attached to it.
That could be due to audiences feeling a little detached from the actor/artist performing it.

There are other younger actors who have taken up such roles but his effort to take up the role at his age and breaking away from his comfort zone to portray complex roles is what makes him one of the greatest. Her face never changes and she is plain even in roles that demand more energy or action.
She just happened to be there when there was nobody else (Simran had left), so TN people defaulted to praising her.

Was it for unrequited love? the frustration of being a child? the insufferable guise I wore in the face of "others"? the guilt and shame of not being "good" enough in any social roles I play? the knowledge that the characters might have gotten the closure and warmth they deserve but we won't? The humanity of imperfections that we carry as people having lived our lives goes beyond our social identities, and positions. This film just brought to life what it meant to be a human for me.

Anmol,I say this with the best of intentions but you REALLY have to do something about this new format you've started by interspersing the usual movie stills with your in person track. Whenever the video shifts to your face, it is EXTREMELY distracting. And not in w good way. Your eyes are obviously strained on a screen next to the camera to read out the whole video transcript. Which looks very very odd because you're not looking straight at the camera at all and it weirds me out. Also there's so much going on in the background and that huge mic. All of it is so distracting that whenever your face appears i instantly lose focus on every word you're saying. Either do it the way other reviewers like Sucharita or Anupama Chopra do. Or just go back to your old format of only using stills. Because this new cut is just not working 😢

As a person who survived such a marriage and had to migrate out of India to ge a divorce, shows me exactly, 100% accurately showed what it is like. The country I got a divorce in, didn't even have a court hearing. And it was done in 3 months. The research for the was on point.

Mammootty's reinvention os similar to an omni van who helped kidnaps in past and now working as an ambulance who saves people as some sort of redemption...a lot of his old movies portrayed a misogynistic ultimate "male" (eg. Valsalyam, hitler, kasaba, masterpiece, siddhartha)...probably during pandemic he embraced the political correctness wave...

I remeber crying whej i was little when all of my friends made fun of me for chosing Mammootty over Mohanlal and saying that Mohanlal beat Mammootty in movies and he cant dance... Although i liked Mohanlal's movies and tried so hard to like him better, i could never do that.
In my 30s now, Im so glad i stayed with my love for Mammookka and trusted in his selection even when he had several flop eras. 😊

Amen, sister, people tried to make you question yourself that you're wrong. The answer to who is better is.... Mohanlal is a natural actor and Mammotty is a method actor. Me and you, i guess we like method actors, the ones who transform into their characters, leaving no trace of the actor behind.
Method actors are better in my opinion. When mohanlal plays indrachoodan in narasimham, he's mohanlal, in guru, he's mohanlal, in every other character he does, the same.
When Mammootty plays luke in Rorschach, he's luke, in kannur squad, he's George, in dhruvam, he's mannadiyaar, in vidheyan, he's Patel.. whether it be the difference in dialects, body language or mannerisms, he's a chameleon.

I havent watched the movie yet. But i hearda lot of good things about the movie particularly about mammoty's role and his courage to take up this role.
It would have been nice if some other superstars atleast in malayalam industry could emulate mammoty's choice of characters and move away from being oart of stupid scripts and obsolete directors.

I have a different perception on the topic of a star daring to do such roles. I always say to the people of other industries that in malayalam we have stars but they are super actors as well. They have done a lot of roles in the past which have immense depth within itself. They gained popularity with their acting skills along with the stardom. In kerala audience are a bit unique i would say. Arts literature theatre cutures have immersed with their life even in the villages. Libraries and clubs have their own importance in every nook and corner of kerala. Kerala youth festival is biggest school youth festival in asia which opens doors for artists and performers from their school life itself.
In this society it is easy for an actor to do such daring actions/moves. I think Prithviraj and Nivin have already done this. So what i try to say is we need to equally appreciate the audience of mollywood along with mammootty's courage to do this film.

Completely agree this movie could cause a lot of controversy and could give us a brief flashback into the years of constant Bollywood movie boycotts but So far I haven’t seen any heated discussion regarding it, but rather fairly nuanced arguments.

    Kaathal The Core 💚
Everyone must have to watch the film.... Slow paced movie with engaging, emotional elements... The film talks about the topic of homosexuality... It can be said that the director has completely succeeded in showing the life situations that homosexual people go through very clearly and indirectly rather than directly.....Hatsoff Jeo Baby... A big round of applause should be given to the story writers for writing such a well-written thing that is apt to be said in this era... Bgm & songs placing ❤️
All Casting perfect & they done very well 👌 Jyo's one of the best performance 💎 As usual with another gem performance from the core of Malayalam Cinema 💎
Mammukka my man doing this makes fans and M-town proud ❤️
Again another promising product from Mammootty Kampany 💯❤️
