  • OBD recording of Citroën ë-C4 battery power consumption at "READY" state.
    - At idle with just daytime running lights on and AC off the consumption is 0.15-0.2kW.
    - With heated steering wheel and seats on it climbs to 0.5kW.
    - With everything at MAX it consumes 7kW with occasional 10kW peaks (full LED headlights, AC at highest temperature ("HI"), heated steering wheel, seats, fans, radio...).
    - ECO mode reduces the heating to max 3-5kW peaks

Hello, as an owner of e-C4 there is a question that is nagging me... that you could easily answer with your OBD reader: what is the impact of having the AC on/off on the consumption when it's cold outside?? My understanding is that AC and the heat-pump is the same thing, so when it is turned off in winter, the heat is generated with a resitive heater... which should consume more power (or so I suppose!)
Anyway, if you get a chance to monitor the behaviour of your ë-C4 with/without AC on in winter, I'd be... very happy to read you 🙂 thanks and best regards from Switzerland

Hi. Did you maybe have the chance to check wether the battery is kept at comfortable temperatures in high summer and low winter temperatures when parked outside? What's the battery degradation after all the time you have had the car, and how did you charge it (fast or slow charge)?

What OBD-II protocol does the car communicate with?

Can you confirm that if you lunch pre-heating of the car, it's heating cockpit but also its battery!

Not yet, I haven't got the opportunity (as I park in garage all the time which is 15-19 °C). :-/ I left the car once outside for 2 hours at 1 °C but the battery temperature dropped only from 15 °C to 14 °C...
Another UK driver with OBD told me he was driving 50 kilometers on Normal mode and the battery pack temperature rose from 6 °C to 7 °C, so even while driving there seems to be no direct heating (or maybe 6 °C wasn't cold enough to trigger it?).

What OBD adapter type do you use ?

    • @Memosis
      @Memosis  2 года назад +1

I use this one with my iPhone via Bluetooth
      www.amazon.de/dp/B07SQLY39V
plus this OBD adapter for Stellantis cars (it wasn't working without it)
      www.amazon.it/dp/B08MXS8W3C
But some e-C4 users have OBD dongles that work without this special adapter. E.g. this one should work
