If you are serious about Chernobyl, i can set up everything for you here in Ukraine...Luke i sent a message to you on facebook, please check out. Thanks
MONKEY BUSINESS I had a friend visit it (from the U.K.). He said it was a great trip. He went on a bus and was a given packed lunch to eat. Said the food in the packed lunch was sourced from outside the ‘danger’ zone. The pictures he sent were incredible. Definitely would like to do it one day.
THIS IS AN AWESOME REVIEW. Backpacks are so complicated these days. In my time, we bought Jansport or Kelty and never looked back, Your level of detail in reporting on this backlkpack is very welcome. Hey, Luke, 'Long May You Run!"
I own a Splav Cascade 60M. It's 53L. It's covered in PALS webbing and no outer pockets/pouches besides the sleeve at the bottom housing the attached rain cover. I like that it is covered with PALS webbing as I can buy the pouches I want and attach them wear I want them. With the war going on, you can't find any Splav gear anywhere. The harness system is the best I've ever seen on any pack. The shoulder straps can be raised or lowered. The waist belt is covered in PALS webbing and is removeable. And both the shoulder straps and the waist belt are heavily padded, much more so than the Raid pack you've reviewed here.
Hi Luke! I actually like this pack but I ordered the 60 liter pack and it includes the two side pouches, each is 7.5 liters, increasing the total interior space to 75. The total was $210 and change and takes 2.5 to 3 weeks from Russia. While serving in Europe, the Middle East and in North Africa I had the pleasure of sharing/trading military packs and found many of them so much more functional than our military packs. However, as you pointed out, the materials were somewhat questionable. I kept a Czech pack for several years and it was bomb-proof; unfortunately I lost it in an unfortunate incident on the Mogollon Rim in Arizona.
SPLAV and SSO are really good Russian companies. Very vastly unheard of and overlooked by most westerners, but these 2 brands make some of the best backpacks available to date. I've owned an Ataka-4 by SSO for about 5 years now and put it through a lot and I still expect it to last for many years to come. It'll probably outlive me lol. These packs compared to pretty much all civilians brands makes them look cheap and vastly inferior. The packs that these companies manufacture are really incredibly ahead of the curve in terms of features and implementation of modern systems like MOLLE, adjustable strap systems, removable utility pouches, design, etc. If you want a good solid, rugged pack that can carry your gear reliably and comfortably, won't break on you and that you can earnestly trust and rely on, get a pack by SPLAV or SSO. These packs are absolutely worth it and on a whole other level. Russian gear is vastly underestimated but will totally take care of you and last you forever.
Thank you again..............but as with so many Bergen type packs: non adjustable back length. That's a no no 😞 for a pack with serious pretensions.......
СПЛАВ делает достаточно качественно за небольшую цену, вполне годное снаряжение. Сам пользуюсь их рюкзаком и вполне доволен ! Если интересно, Ranger V2 тоже вполне неплохой ранец для коротких полевых выходов )
I thought you did a review of some Brit ruck that was also issued but cheaper. Though it doesn't have removable side pouches, I'll stick with my ILBE. Got it complete with lid and radio pouch for $75 NEW w/tags at a surplus store in southern Michigan.
I'll recommend You another backpack for future reviews - polish wz.48/DWS for special forces. Regular army bagpack wz.987A/MON (it is set of 2 bagpacks with rain cover and 2 camo - winter and desert - sets) is noticeable too, but almost impossible to buy because it is quite new equipment.
Robert Mueller would like to speak with you ! Lmao!!!...I kept seeing this Sasquatch appearing walking in the snow LOL!! Wolfman! Awesome video brother!
Almost an exact copy of some of the Karrimor bags from the UK. Karrimor are an approved MoD supplier and their bags are better and a bit cheaper. I own 2, both issued and I have batter them both with zero issues. Check them out Luke!
Luke I’m having a problem with my like button every time I hit it, it goes to dislike so if you see a dislike from me disregard it. Keep up the great videos you are doing.
Have you checked out Burgaus packs Luke? I have one that looks similar that I got from wheres the liquor that I love and it's VERY well made, mine is the Crusader 90+20 liter pack, lots of cool featrures too and cheaper than the Splav with the sustainment packs
You should have done better research. That exact backpack can be found for around 70$ (in cordura version also) and shipping cost can vary from expensive or free if you ask to be sent by regular postal service (it will take 1-2 months) Most of the Russian gear on ebay is with free international shipping at least at the moment. Splav also makes civilian gear from military design but not the same quality. Also check out European and Russian websites that use paypal and you can save some cash in the future. A friend bought the big 90l backpack from the Ratnik set for 80$ with free shipping. The video and information was awesome !
Lew Ashby this looks exactly like a pack sold by Big-5. Most backpackers would make fun of anyone who buy gear at Big 5 (cheap and horrible quality), I bought this pack and it's actually held up really well. I'm almost positive it's the exact same bag, just rebranded. I paid $65. m.big5sportinggoods.com/mobile/mdetails/Rugged%20Exposure+Delta-65L-Internal-Frame-Pack/0760107810022/_/A-4736260
God :-O while it's possible that I am wrong, at a minimum, it is close. If I'm wrong, than it's a direct copy. Every buckle, strap, and internal configuration looks and sounds the exact same. From the rain pouch on the bottom, to the closure and loops at the top.
For that price you can better buy a Karrimor SF 45L pack (sabre or predator) + side packs :) Or take a look at the Wisport backpacks (Racoon 65l = 45 L pack + side pouches) .. all for the same price but here the side pouches are already included and they do have an aluminium frame. Cant beat those 2 brands :)
Okay that makes a big difference because how Luke states it it could be a $250 pack which is wayyyy overprized :o in that case the other brands are better! But when its $110 with side pouches i think its okay :) still dont like the back support but still :D better prize !!
Get the Savotta pack in large, the quality is excellent, 1000D material ITW Nexus hardware, each webbing strap can take 100kg in pressure etc. Savotta are excellent also check our packs by Crib gogh and Warrior assault systems these brands are top quality.
Hi Luke, I’ve been watching your videos today and find them very entertaining and knowledgeable. I was just wondering have you done a review on the tasmanian tiger raid pack mk iii. ?
Maybe, cordura is more durable. But if you will have too drope it it to get away. What will you prefer to drop expensive cordura pack or much less expensive polyester pack.I had one of Splav backpack and it's very strong)))
Hi Luke, Thank you for the video and I love your channel. This Rucksack looks like a copy of a Berghaus Centurio 45 www.nightgearstore.com/en-US/Berghaus-Military-Centurio-45-Backpack/483200848ng.htm?colour=Cedar You should check out these rucksacks which British military Bergens are based on. The SPLAV has copied the "Rocket" zip off side pouches from Berghaus and Karrimor Sabre SF which IMHO are some of the best rucksacks ever made. Perhaps you could check them out. Berghaus are a British company who dominate outdoor products in Europe and pioneered many advances in outdoor equipment. I'm not affiliated with Berghaus or Karrimor but I've used their gear over many years and find it to be excellent.
Luke...check these guys out. I have their Raccoon 65 and love it. It is a lot like the pack you just reviewed but seems to have a little more going for it. www.wisport.com.pl/English-29,8,2,0,gl,gr,lang,shop.html
Luke try grey-shop.ru/Basic/Backpack/Backpack-Attack-2 for better value includes a backstay to avoid deformation. The guys at grey shop are best value around for Russian gear. Gorgoth who used to work there has his own channel on RUclips. He is a former Russian Army Sargent so knows his gear. I
www.red-alliance.net/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=c19c738b48ac8f23fa7ecb24d9fd7db9&board=15.0 I compared most of the shops listed here value does not equate to just cost. From what I saw the prices were comparable , decent selection, fairly slick website in English considering its their second language and I know no russian. It does surprise me that Russian online sales are mostly geared to domestic sales only. I bought a ANA krot suit $69 this was good value. I intend to use it for summer fox hunting and wild dogs when it can get damn hot down under. If you have better info please share.
Excellent review and demo of this backpack!! But, seeing how it is Russian made and not easily available here, I'll pass. (The Chinese probably have knock offs headed this way for way less of a price too.)
Am I the only one who wants to go explore Chernobyl? - Luke
TheOutdoorGearReview Yes!
If you are serious about Chernobyl, i can set up everything for you here in Ukraine...Luke i sent a message to you on facebook, please check out. Thanks
No, with the right gear, that'd be cool.
Don't worry many people from all over Europe come to visit Chernobyl without radiation problem

Ahh the good old couch backpack. Love finding them in my labs raids

Luke long time follower love your reviews on military gear so cool to see stuff from all over the world.

Splav makes great winter jackets too. I have worn them for years. Very warm without being too bulky and with a built in pocket for concealed carry.
Which Splav jackets have built in pockets for CC?
Hi buddy. Great review. Very interesting to see the packs from other countries. ATB
I found one similar,a 43 liter on Ebay for $108 free shipping.Only thing it takes a month for delivery..And the side compartments are built in.
Well done, bro! Happy New Year!
I like the removable side pouches! Without side pouches it's an easy over night pack, with pouches multiple days.
Thanks Luke great review that sounds like a pack that I would really like I don’t do any long hikes but I carry a lot of stuff
Thank you again..............but as with so many Bergen type packs: non adjustable back length. That's a no no 😞 for a pack with serious pretensions.......

it was unexpected to see russian packs on this channel.
you can try Raid 60+ (it more functional than 45)
sure looks durable enough to me im tempted
Would love to see what you think about Gorka suits, even the old soviet style one
Looks like berghaus centurio 45.how about any reviews on berghaus military range packs?great review as always. Thanks

Very similar setup to Osprey bags with exception to side pouches
looks like a rooski copy of the British Bergen, except the rain cover on the Bergen is in a pocket at the bottom.
Yeah, I kind of thought the same when I've seen it.
Almost an exact copy of some of the Karrimor bags from the UK. Karrimor are an approved MoD supplier and their bags are better and a bit cheaper. I own 2, both issued and I have batter them both with zero issues. Check them out Luke!
So do you prefer the Splav packs, or the SSO Attack backpack?
Luke, it’s a SnugPack Rocket Pack knock-off. Its almost exact. My vote is SnugPak forever. Stay Safe
Luke I’m having a problem with my like button every time I hit it, it goes to dislike so if you see a dislike from me disregard it.
Keep up the great videos you are doing.

Pretty nice. Looks a lot like a Snugpak Bergen pack.
Great review!
Luke,
Thanks for the video. I was tempted to buy that but after learning it’s made from 600D polyester and has no frame sheet I said no.
Shashkin In The Wild You’re probably right!
Thank you
You should have done better research.

No, not even close.

TheMoschetta
Yup but the patting is what gave it away.
If you want proper Russian gear buy the camouflaged Ratnik issued gear that's legit.
I like it. Now going for $166 and free shipping.
Read through some of the comments, my question is, how does the polyester handle premetherin insect spray? Or possible alchol stove fuel leakage?
Shouldn't have any issues with either brother. - Luke
Hi Luke could you review the Kelly kettle at some stage i think you will be impressed
Good luck to you from n.ireland
@ 2:07 was that a coyote sound in the background?

Nice review
Hi Luke! Would you review the Beretta Modular 65 L M.O.L.L.E backpack?
Hay partner I have a quick question ? What do you use for your RUclips intro and if you can can you tell me how to get it or do it
L.O.L. and we know were that came from. Love your sense of humor.
Hehehe Thanks brother!
- Luke
Would you recommend this or the savotta JÄÄKÄRI L?
Which backpack is your favorite, im thinking of getting the JÄÄKÄRI L or the Medium, not rly sure..
Get the Savotta pack in large, the quality is excellent, 1000D material ITW Nexus hardware, each webbing strap can take 100kg in pressure etc.
Savotta are excellent also check our packs by Crib gogh and Warrior assault systems these brands are top quality.
Looks like you can really Cary a lot of fear with that. A real back breaker.
Luke, how does this compare to Varustalaka brand that you tested 35L
Can you review the "Norrøna recon pack"?
I’ve had US milsurp bags - they have their own issues. The plastic frames tend to break
Good review as always :)
BTW. Is there a moose and guns episode coming anytime soon? ☺️
I would love to see u review russian SSO Atack5 backpack. That is true russian army backpack, this is army style, not so good backpack.
Interesting, thx
That doesnt look like 45L
Lmbo. You have more hair than me.
Mike
Thats almost an identical copy of the Karrimor SF
Very similar, but the Karrimor SF's are made with 1000 denier nylon and are worth every penny. I have the Predator 80-130. Outstanding packs.
Russians copy everything they see
lol it's a standard backpack configuration used by hundreds of companies.
Hardly, and as David below points out, the material for a start.
Looks a lot like the bergen rucksack....
I’ll much rather just stick with my 100L bundeswehr mountain ruck for more space versus cramming everything into a max 75L with this pack
Luke, I'm surprised. With all the backpack reviews that you have done, you still have not reviewed Triple Aught Design's FastPack EDC. What gives?
Nice
wouldnt suprise me if this goes away soon . all the new sanctions on russian companies with military contracts are going to suck
Hi Luke, I’ve been watching your videos today and find them very entertaining and knowledgeable. I was just wondering have you done a review on the tasmanian tiger raid pack mk iii. ?
Сплав 🤔) и как он туда попал 😅)
Обрати внимание, в штатах этот сидор почти втрое дороже ;)
Does not look too bad for me still quite pricey
good review, just not for me, i prefer the better materials.............
Maybe, cordura is more durable. But if you will have too drope it it to get away. What will you prefer to drop expensive cordura pack or much less expensive polyester pack.I had one of Splav backpack and it's very strong)))

отчаянно хвалит, как лучший горбовик за 250 гринов
Luke...check these guys out. I have their Raccoon 65 and love it.
It is a lot like the pack you just reviewed but seems to have a little more going for it.
www.wisport.com.pl/English-29,8,2,0,gl,gr,lang,shop.html
I'LL stay with my USA Eberlstock.
Chuck W:. Eberlestock has admitted on FB that their packs are made in Vietnam.
Try to review polish Wisport backpacks: www.wisport.com.pl/en/product-category/backpacks/
They're doing excellent products
Seems expensive for 45l. Plus one should never buy backpack online without physically trying it on. Nice review though.

Russian stuff not as good as others and more expensive. Other than that I am fine with it. (looking at it, I guess)
You lost me at $200.
Looks like cheap berghaus centurio 45 L
British Bergen clone.
