- Distilling alcohol with MEAT hanging in the still sounds crazy (and it is). But it's also an old tradition in Oaxaca, Mexico. (and we love Danny DeVito) Thank you Helix for sponsoring! Distilled rum ham sounds awful. Next try hotdog water
They should use Cocktail weiners 😅 or maybe "Hot Links". 🌭🌶️
I think you mean hotdog vodka
Perhaps some chocolate starfish?
As long as it's garnished with a chocolate starfish I'm down... Assuming I'm not the one doing the listening.
Wiener water soup
“It’s like dating a stripper” the most under rated line ever
"Did you distill Danny Devito?!"....had me giggling like an idiot
Rum ham is good, you made it wrong... You have to Cajun injector a gallon of high proof rum into a ham, then reapply brown sugar and honey, and cook it preferably baked low temperature raising it slowly so your oven doesn't blow up too much. Really tasty though, I make one every year.
You guys are the definition of shenanigans. Love your videos, true whisky tribe spirit.
I continue to have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that Rex is the boss.
12:06 officially Brian's best quote
Now I’m wondering if distilling a bbq plate (brisket, slaw, beans, bread/dinner roll) would give isla vibes
I have two pechugas in my booze collection - a mezcal with turkey breast and a sotol with rattlesnake. Both are really good. The experiment in this video might be on the right track. A ham pechuga rum could turn out well.
If you are looking for weird things to distill for content I think you should consider textured dairy goat feed, also known as pelleted complete feed, etc. Mostly made of grains formed into pellets but also often containing molasses to keep dust from occurring. I'd imagine you'd need to use enzymes with it, but I'm no expert.
Someone knows the band CAKE! 🤘🏼
I always love when Brian is a guest 😸 and ham is one of those addictive foods you just want to keep nibbling 🤤
A local distillery made an Aquavit called Meatsweat. They used the pechuga style and hung a bison rump roast in the column during distillation.
It is weird and amazing!
Brian's reactions are golden 😂
This was a brilliant episode. Love modern rogue and love your shenanigans.
Love you guys. Hilarious episode. Cheers to shenanigans you MB's🥃
Loved the video, super entertaining as always! :) also, you should mix the helix's 'ffffffffffff'-s followed by füm, that would be awesome 😂
Another crazy fun episode 👊🥃
Missed opportunity to colab with binging with babish
Guga is to Superman, as babish is to Robin.
You mean bimbish missed it
11:23 - Garth Algar's sister.
"OH, it smells fine" *gag*
Best laugh I've had for a while , great job.
Thanks Guys! You made me laugh my ass off :D
They went to Jersey. As an IASIP fan, l loved this episode!
This must have caught me in the perfect mindset, I laughed until I cried through the middle there.
8:42 & 12:42 sum this one up pretty well.
id like to see powdered fennel distilled please
Ferment/distill the Fruity Pebbles flavored pancake syrup 🙏
7:19 I thought I was going to get so much work done today. -what my brain says when I start most days.
Naaaah. What my body and other part of my brain say immediately after that. 😂😬😭
Fight milk has to be next. Keep the theme going
Grilled Charlie, baby!
was just watching some other videos and a Fum ad popped up and I was surprised to see a couple recognizable faces
Briana: "You have so much ham in your mouth!"
Rex:🥴
Not sure why, but I always assumed it would have been a dark rum that was used, maybe even a spiced. I just feel like the flavours would work so much better together
Combat veteran here. You guys should make and distill the army ball grog bowl for an episode
I literally watched the episode the day before this came up in my feed.
You guys should try distilling onions or garlic or some other produce with a decent sugar content.
The commercial cracks me up
This is going to he good
Spiced rum ham is tasty...I do it 48 hrs
I feel like these people would be fun af
DUUUUDE YA GOT BRIAN FROM MODERN ROGUE! Awesome Mash Up!!!!!
He’s bin on a few times
Not only is a he a frequent guest, Brian is one of the reasons these videos exist. Years back Brian did an episode with Daniel in the original vault, and the Whisky vault channel blew up after that (not that they didn't have a following before, but it made a noticeable bump). Then it seemed like everything ramped up from there. I don't think this channel existed yet, Crowded Barrel wasn't a thing yet (or at least was in very early stages). I'm not saying they wouldn't have gotten here eventually, but it's undeniable that Brian & Modern Rogue are core peices of lore lol.
Must have had a mop on standby for this episode!!
I vote you distill either hotdog water, or the liquid left at the bottom of a tamale pot.
If one can make Rum from sugarcane juice and molasses (sugar syrup), and whiskey from corn juice (sugar syrup), why couldn't one make "something-like-rum-and-whiskey" from sugarbeet juice (or sugarbeet sugar syrup)?
Now we're talking!
Seems to have a very bad earthy character which is hard to lose
Dude smokey savory how could it not be great
Love
Helix is/was a rock band. They did "Rock You".
Rum ham!
This was so funny
Poor Brian!
I had some pechuga made with deer heart.
Okay this episode had me cackling
You guys, well, just nuts. 😅 I was laughing so hard I almost shit myself!!😅 🤣, if life was as nice as you guys, life would be a good thing, So I will punish myself with a dram of my 12, year old Scotch.
I was going to compare this to Pechuga Mezcal and then you did. So forget it.
There might be an FPS issue for parts of this video that genuinely gives me a headache :(
I thought I was going crazy. I thought my computer was having an issue.
I was avoiding watching this. Because I was disgusted by the premise. I’m glad I watched it in the end.
First time viewer thank you. Yes!
RUM HAAEEMMM
Or that yellowish clear slime that Spam comes in.
Keeping kosher never felt so good 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That part at the end...OMG!! 🤢🤮
“Oh, it smells fine.”
"that's confusing to the mouth"
Please never change, lol
Shoulda put it in a Vacuum Chamber 😎👍
This was so out there. How does distilled pickle juice sound
I've had pickle shots already. I think most of what makes a pickle's flavor would distill out, like the salt and vinegar. But maybe a distilled garlic-dill infusion could make for an interesting ingredient in cocktails.
Pechuga de mole poblano is one of the best non whiskey spirits in my opinion
Dark rum for my ham!
Im pretty sure they're doing the horizontal dance......
Holy s!"+ i haven't laughed that hard in awhole
Would hate to be the one that had to clean the still after that
Wld Turkey turkey...do it
this poor Brian 🤣
This video should come with a warning. “ Do not watch this video while eating”. I almost choked three times. In hindsight it would have been worth it.😂
Still ideas:
Avocado toast
Coconut milk/water
Yerba mate
Mate would be... unique
11:17 A FILM?! With an impressively sized farmyard pig, perhaps?
Hey
thats the dude from modern rouge?
Distill dead mice you find around your shop next?
My son bought me a bottle of Pachuga Mezcal with coyote meat.
I do wonder if those two actually get on each others nerves ever, or if it’s all always only in good fun.
Deeply smelling something that visually made you gag is why I’m here. Whiskey is also pretty good
Aw jeez. they could have used a smaller container than a 5-gal bucket, and not wasted so much rum, lol.
This sounds like it's such a bad idea... 😁
Sooo how about fermenting an entire Easter dinner?
I have rotisserie bunny for my Easter dinner. 😊
What about onions or garlic?
If it's hot don't open your mouth, the air is what makes it burn.
TMW I finally figure out that Brian had no idea what he was drinking. Bravo *golf clap*
2:42 it's confusing to the mouth
How is this the first time that has been uttered out of all their will it distill craziness and shenanigans?! 😅😅
You should fry pieces of the rum ham.
And then, fry some normal ham, and flambé it with some rum
Is it too soon to say... The Mooch won the Divorce? LOL
Poor Brian
Love that hairdo
I would be like Bri, eating the ham.
Hey! Stop that!
The bartender at Real Spirits in Blanco told us they use a hogs head in the distillation of their Totem. Anyone else hear about this?
Poor Brian.
5:29 Today's episode is sponsored by the letter fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff!
Pay your editor more money! 💰🥇
You know, there are lines that maybe, MAYBE, shouldn’t be crossed lol
How about spam rum?
Spiced rum would work best
