Your video motivated me to make a chicken tractor out of pallet wood and scrap lumber!I've finished framing it up but I'm scrounging around for some wood to make a door. I hope to have it painted by Monday! Btw your little tractors are fabulous for a broody hen! Thanks for sharing!

Great scrap quick build but I would recommend only using hardware cloth on those. A raccoon or other predator could easily reach through and get the mama chicken or chicks.

Definitely for more rural locations! Our urban backyard had 2 perimeter fences and we had a dog, so we had much less predator pressure than we do now in the countryside. Lots more hardware cloth used now in our building projects!

Did the baby chicks pop out of the chicken wire? 😂

We typically keep our chicks inside for 4 weeks or so as snakes find them tasty when itty bitty, so they can't get their whole bodies out by then. 🙂 3 years later and we still use these little tractors for 'breaking' broody hens, separating an ill chicken, and a corral on butchering day.
