      Idk how do you even respect a wrestler that backs up and retreats an entire 3 periods. I can’t and he defiantly isn’t a champion. Oh that’s 2 matches he retreated. Terrible out come for penn state and Iowa.

      Way more stalling than David Carr, who was shooting and getting takedowns and he got hit 3x and they wanted to hit him a 4th time. It sounds like you would be ok if Drake would have done nothing as well. Just 2 guys standing in front of each other doing nothing. You must not like action; maybe you should watch more curling?

      Penn St is so dominant there probably will be a time where Penn St wins every weight, for now I think most fans are happy with humiliating the rest of college wrestling by more than doubling every other teams score😅

    Ayala was influenced by the crowd. He needed to be more patient. ASU is too good at countering. Should’ve just wrestled instead of pushing the pace.

      Every Iowa wrestler besides Spencer Lee has lost in the finals since Cory Clark won a title. I really wish Woods won last year.

    hear me out, stalling needs to be punished more than it is, i just graduated from high school as a 2x state placer and it wasn’t as much of an issue at that level, but the 2nd stall call should be 2 points instead of 1. people let off the gas the last minute or period of a match and get away with it.

    What’s with the Iowa guys not going out there and trying to completely dominate matches?
    For the longest time except for Spencer they haven’t had anyone that does out and and tries to completely be dominate. Very frustrating as a Hawks supporter.

    force out needs to be worth 1. having your back toward outer bounds is an unfair advantage because if you get into trouble you can scoot out of bounds, but if you attack, you have the whole mat to work with.

      @@freddievargas5143 scoring a takedown with 1 second left and last one coming in the last period. He stalled the WHOLE first period and the first 1:30 of the second. Not a good performance for a “champion” each their own.

    I had a slide by Urkle position on the edge to win my state title senior year
    Way more control than that actual got in the position 3 times in last 45 seconds to win the match
    Refs didn’t even give it a thought of being 2
    And it was
    But this one was not leg not in

    I’m not a fan of either. But he was lucky to not get called for stalling a lot earlier. He countered when needed, but I hate watching guys like that.
