And at 3:58, she also does a pose that she’s never done prior to then. Much like other people have said, the fourth letters; excluding Hat because three letters, also spell SOS
Miku is sticking her tongue out, not having a proper sitting neck, has dilated(?) pupils, and is flinging her arms around while also wearing a choker (or collar idk) on her neck. So in other words, she is hanging. In one way, the hypnosis is “pulling the strings” around her neck, or in the proper(?) interpretation (can’t handle reality & life) that she had committed suicide because she cannot handle life. The smiling & the excessive confetti also indicate that Miku believes that she’s better dead than alive, no matter how much she clings on to life.

One thing that's always stuck out to me is what they're looking at in quiz time, teto looks like she's looking at the quiz time screen, but miku seems to be looking at us.
This would also explain why shes still 'dancing' during and after teto's part. Its not dancing, its her struggling while hanging, something very similar to kyu kurarin

extra things I found: 1. Teto was doing another sign when she put her hand over her mouth, and did a hmm sound, which means help, sos 2.when Teto was doing the signal for help by doing the thumbs up thing, miku was doing another signal that meant please, they were trying to say help us please 3. Teto went through 10 days fighting the hypnosis 4. When the hat, eraser pirate happened, the 4th letter of every word shown put together is also SOS. So in that part, they spell help (first letter of each word) and sos (4th letter) 5. In the end, Teto gives up for the hypnosis and gives up :)

(watch for the confetti & lyrics. it could get worse.) 2:41 - teto blinking in morse code (S.O.S) 2:55 - lyrics says, “someone, please help ^^” 3:00 - each first letter in quiz time spells out ‘HELP’. and theres SOS too, i js cant explain how u could find it. 3:08 - teto doing another ‘help’ sign 3:10 - miku moves with screen and eyes get darker (getting hypnotized but not yet). 3:39 - meanwhile teto doesnt move w screen + sky gets faster and darker. her eyes get darker too. 3:58 - miku slowly starts to dance with her hands outward and so her arms. teto also has a sweat drop (wtv u call it). 3:59 - confetti comes back + when its tetos turn to dance, her eyes are closed. earlier, hers were open. 4:05 - bars around the screen get darker 4:12 - miku gets hypnotized ik + confetti comes in a lot (like as if it was raging or smth) and lyrics start to have weird stuff like numbers, capitalized letters in words, ( or ), @, *, &, ?, and ! 4:18 - miku doesnt stop dancing due to her being hypnotized. 4:30 - tryna hypnotize us again 4:41 - and finally, teto gets hypnotized last second. hoped this helped
After counting all the times the background went dark at teto’s hypnosis part apparently it took 10 and even then she managed to avoid fully shutting down like miku. Another detail is that after the hypnosis part of the song both teto and miku are shown in front of a bright green background indicating that the sky and clouds behind them throughout the song are fake. The lyrics seem to refer to someone who lives a generally unsatisfying and sad life which directly contradicts how upbeat the song and their dance moves and poses are. Before the chorus arrows point to the word focus in the middle of the screen and flashing colours and a spiral appear in the middle, almost like the song is attempting to hypnotize us, the viewers, which is ironic considering how extremely popular the song became in such a short amount of time and how catchy and addicting it sounds. I also find it interesting how teto and miku are wearing stylized versions of uniforms of people working in food service, which are generally exhausting and low paying jobs which would match the depressing descriptions of life the lyrics are talking about, this makes me think that the message of the song is that people that are currently at a low point in their lives or are dealing with big amounts of stress and sadness are more vulnerable than others and unfortunately more likely to be manipulated Anyways i hope someone enjoys my yapping

All things pointing to mental health I think it’d be okay to interpret Teto’s subtle sos’s as a way to represent how people who struggle with mental health issues don’t outright ask for help but they do give off signs. It’s like a silent cry for help that you won’t know it’s there until you’re looking for it
also during the part where miku hypnotized and dancing her neck gets thicker and thinner. That’s abnormal💀 4:17 and miku has a chocker and teto doesn’t. She swings side to side like a coin it could possibly mean that she hung herself. Also Miku wears rollerskates that could help her swing side to side too and help get hypnotized. teto’s words get cut off at the end for ‘shut down’ unlike miku because she wasn’t swinging like a coin, which helps her not get hypnotized. That’s why it didn’t say ‘shut down’. And Teto didn’t get fully hypnotized at the very end because when Miku got hypnotized she had a white circle in her eyes, Teto didn’t have that white circle so she might just ALMOST got hypnotized.
i’ve heard somebody say that teto’s last line "if you stare at reality, you’ll go blind! so do it moderately" refers to the fact that miku is staring at the viewer/screen the entire time, which is why she falls to the hypnosis. however, teto only occasionally does it, which is why she was able to resist for so long
thats true i also saw a comment somewhere that its a saying that “if you look at the internet, your eyesight will get worse, but if you look at reality, you’ll go blind.” so that line could be a reference to escapism
@@h.i.s2786 not really sure but someone formed a theory where when Miku was feeling down, Teto suggested to “escape reality” and that usually is something that makes you addicted and hypnotised. But Miku succumbed to it first and Teto realised what she’d done, and she can’t escape from it now.
At 4:12 when miku dances when hypnotised, her neck grows thinner and thicker. I think the reason for that is because she possibly hung herself (or someone hung her), explaining why she sticks her tongue out as well. (Effects of being hung, unstable neck and tongue sticking out)
3:58 This is when the hypnosis takes part, as you can see Miku's arms and head are going the wrong way (like they do when she's fully hypnotised) also teto's expression has changed showing she's confused or wondering what's happening.
This video actually uses real hypnosis techniques!!! It’s very well researched!! Flashing lights and quickly appearing and disappearing words are a common method for suggestion. The video often points the viewer’s attention toward a point of focus and then shows things in the peripheral view that you aren’t supposed to focus on (this is often why people use spirals in hypnosis, to focus the eyes.) Also, the video uses many bright, saturated, primary colors, which makes everything stand out and draw your attention in furthermore, maybe even aiming to overstimulate, which would help with hypnosis. And a community post details that you should focus on the center point, turn up your device’s brightness, lower the brightness of the surrounding room, and max the volume (preferably with headphones). These are all things that would make hypnosis more effective! It’s impressive!!!

creepy reference. I think it fits due to the context of the song about how it makes both Teto and Miku and also us (the viewers) to get hypnotized by luring us into a false happy reality. Also, i've read this from another comment that the ones who are vulnerable the hypnosis are the ones that tend to be miserable and unhappy in their lives (hence why Miku and Teto are wearing the food service uniforms you would see in a restaurant, because those are low paying jobs and tend to be quite exhausting.)

some things you missed: miku was wearing rollerblades, and rollerblades irl are hard to stand up in when you fall, symbolising that after miku was hypnotised, she couldnt get out of it, and because rollerblades have wheels, it can also be hard to balance, so that could mean that it was harder for miku to stop herself from ‘falling’ (aka being hypnotised) and teto was wearing sneakers so then its hard to ‘fall’ or get hypnotised, and its also easier to stand up in sneakers another thing was that when miku was hypnotised, she swayed with the camera, and got hypnotised faster. but when it was teto’s turn, she resisted, and the sky moved faster which meant she resisted for a few days, whereas miku lasted for less than a day because the sky didnt move much
I truly respect the producer and the artist. Both did a good job and are a great duo! I love the fact due to the artist’s artstyle, people instantly clicked on the video but continued watching the video over and over again (as if hypnotised xd). I’m happy 32ki got recognition!!
theory: First of all, many 13-pointed stars are shown at the beginning. Note: 13-pointed stars represent infinity, do not forget that we will need to remember this in the future. In Miku and Teto's conversation after the stars, Miku tells us that we should care about our feelings. SO MIKU IS HAVING A MENTAL CRASH AND DEPRESSION, and Teto says that she should also care about his feelings! she should keep reality and thought separate! Notice how the background sky changes from 3:38 to 3:46? It's my personal theory but I think that it represents how teto was trying to keep herself awake and to not be hypnotized for many days ( it's approximately 10 days that she has to withstand)

I think its neat that you only notice those help messages if you don't get distracted (or we could interpret it as hypnotized) with all the moving colors and stimulus on the video
Some other things I noticed: When Miku is doing the rap where she swings around the light in her eyes goes down as if getting darker then it turns black, so maybe as the light kind of lowers down it represent how hypnotized or sane they are since at the end teto also kind of does that, also it’s strange how teto is the only one sending help signals , anyways the fact Sooshi did all the help hand signals though , sign XD

I think the extra confetti is to further sugar-coat everything that's happening. You know when you are obviously not fine but you can't afford to have a break down So you just lie to yourself that everything is okay and actually force yourself into believing that. And it's extra to give the frantic "Everything is DEFINETLY okay, no worries!!! Everything is A-OKAY" And after teto gets cut off (after the fast part) they are both infront of a green screen showing that everything is fake. The background and "the happiness "

Hi Shooshi, you probably won't see this, but the way you act when reacting to Vocaloid songs brings a smile to my face. It's clear you really like this kind of music and you like uncovering the messages behind the songs. The way you dance and freak out during some points in the song makes me so happy to watch too, since I also explode during some parts of songs lol. This is a bit weird, but the fact that you're also a boy adds a sense of comfort. As a boy who's also loved Vocaloid music and Hatsune Miku for as long as I remember, watching your reactions to Vocaloid songs makes me feel less weird and less like an outcast. Teto is wearing normal black shoes. 2:27 The analysis only points out at Teto doing the help sign, they didn’t mention Miku doing the “please” sign(?) It combines it to “Help please” 3:00 Yes the first letters includes and combines It to the word “Help”. Mesmerizer perfectly encapsulates that Vocaloid song image of hype, popping music and despondent, dark lyrics working together perfectly. Lives up to its name flawlessly as I’ve listened to the song many times every day and can’t break free of it. Not that I want to, of course.

I looked in the middle of when miku got hypnotized and seriously my head was just feeling like..odd and it felt like I wasn’t able to breathe even I could and slowly my heart just starting to like IDK and it felt super odd so the middle is dangerous and it may hypnotize people if they stare long enough Edit: after this video it just felt like the specific part of when miku was singing and she got hypnotized it keeps on juts goin* in my head and every song that I now hear sounds like it like help me is this also hypnotizing the viewers? Your reactions are always so funny to see. I also have some thoughts(This is different though😭 but HEAR ME OUT ON IT.) is that Miku is getting tired each day of life, having to survive through the day, and repeat it the next days. I also think that she takes happy pills everyday. She soon eventually meets Teto, who also has the same problem. Everything is fine until Miku and Teto overdose on the pills. Miku gave in and overdosed. Meanwhile Teto, instead of giving into overdosing, She instead tried to fight through it. (As you can tell through the background, she was fighting for awhile.) At her very last moments, Teto gave up on trying and soon gave into the overdose. But this is just my thoughts! :)) feel free to correct me!
One crazy detail is that the thumbnail of the song is also a subliminal message to "SOS" (teto's and Miku's pose are the "S"'s and the yellow star into the middle is the "O")

If you're interested, the user udin also made a video called "mesmerizer - what's the song about", which explains this song a little better in my opinion. They talk about how this song could be about escapism, how Miku chooses to live hypnotized in ignorace and ignore all life problems and how Teto is trying to tell her that it would be even worse living like that, rather than accepting the painful reality, but the world itself wants everyone to live like Miku and forcefully tries to hypnotize Teto, which is why she's asking us, the audience, for help, because we are the only one who will listen to her

of teto’s last line, she mentioned that you will go blind if you stare into reality or something, so to do it in moderation. pretty sure this meaning that if she looks to us, the viewers, it makes her hypnotized. miku did this and did become hypnotized, but teto only did it occasionally, and towards the end, teto stared more at the viewers and became hypnotized, which means she was forced to give in ‘cause it was too stressful to keep up. teto needed help because she couldnt do it herself, and needed support, but couldnt get support from miku because miku became hypnotized, so she was left alone which is what forced teto to give up. the end, 11:10 is way more… less deep than *not* a circus. miku was to suffer from her depression for so long, that she was forced to give in by herself right away. teto also kind of “ignored” reality so she didnt have a reason to get hypnotized, but as i said, she was forced to get hypnotized, as she was left alone which made her realize reality again, and give in. miku still danced on teto’s part when she was hypnotized because she was made happy, and didnt have a reason to stop dancing since she was too happy. miku’s eyes and movements when she swayed like a coin, hinted at she was being hypnotized like how people swing necklaces and stuff to hypnotize people. as i saw, mesmerizer is someone who specializes in hypnotizing! but in the end guys, this is just a circus and they will turn to normal have a good day lol, and dont be too scared, like me. i scared myself. ❤

I never thought hypnosis could be used as a way to deal with depression, its an intriguing concept. On the one hand your head can become more clear if the hypnosis is designed to suppress your dark thoughts, however sometimes it worse to hid and suppress your feelings rather then actually expressing them.

I NEVER NOTICED THAT TETO GOT HYPNOTIZED LAST SECOND
After counting all the times the background went dark at teto’s hypnosis part apparently it took 10 and even then she managed to avoid fully shutting down like miku.
Another detail is that after the hypnosis part of the song both teto and miku are shown in front of a bright green background indicating that the sky and clouds behind them throughout the song are fake. The lyrics seem to refer to someone who lives a generally unsatisfying and sad life which directly contradicts how upbeat the song and their dance moves and poses are. Before the chorus arrows point to the word focus in the middle of the screen and flashing colours and a spiral appear in the middle, almost like the song is attempting to hypnotize us, the viewers, which is ironic considering how extremely popular the song became in such a short amount of time and how catchy and addicting it sounds.
I also find it interesting how teto and miku are wearing stylized versions of uniforms of people working in food service, which are generally exhausting and low paying jobs which would match the depressing descriptions of life the lyrics are talking about, this makes me think that the message of the song is that people that are currently at a low point in their lives or are dealing with big amounts of stress and sadness are more vulnerable than others and unfortunately more likely to be manipulated

Also, the video uses many bright, saturated, primary colors, which makes everything stand out and draw your attention in furthermore, maybe even aiming to overstimulate, which would help with hypnosis.
And a community post details that you should focus on the center point, turn up your device’s brightness, lower the brightness of the surrounding room, and max the volume (preferably with headphones). These are all things that would make hypnosis more effective! It’s impressive!!!

some things you missed:
miku was wearing rollerblades, and rollerblades irl are hard to stand up in when you fall, symbolising that after miku was hypnotised, she couldnt get out of it, and because rollerblades have wheels, it can also be hard to balance, so that could mean that it was harder for miku to stop herself from ‘falling’ (aka being hypnotised)
and teto was wearing sneakers so then its hard to ‘fall’ or get hypnotised, and its also easier to stand up in sneakers
another thing was that when miku was hypnotised, she swayed with the camera, and got hypnotised faster. but when it was teto’s turn, she resisted, and the sky moved faster which meant she resisted for a few days, whereas miku lasted for less than a day because the sky didnt move much

The reason for this is Miku knows that if her mental state is bad, she will be hypnotized. She doesn't just tell this to Miku, she tells it to us too. She doesn't want us to be affected either, but she can't, no matter how hard she tries, Miku loses control and tells us that we should care about our emotions, so that person makes us say it. Teto can't stand it, she gets hypnotized and loses control
Notice how the background sky changes from 3:38 to 3:46? It's my personal theory but I think that it represents how teto was trying to keep herself awake and to not be hypnotized for many days ( it's approximately 10 days that she has to withstand)

Your reactions are always so funny to see. I also have some thoughts(This is different though😭 but HEAR ME OUT ON IT.) is that Miku is getting tired each day of life, having to survive through the day, and repeat it the next days. I also think that she takes happy pills everyday. She soon eventually meets Teto, who also has the same problem. Everything is fine until Miku and Teto overdose on the pills. Miku gave in and overdosed. Meanwhile Teto, instead of giving into overdosing, She instead tried to fight through it. (As you can tell through the background, she was fighting for awhile.) At her very last moments, Teto gave up on trying and soon gave into the overdose.

pretty sure this meaning that if she looks to us, the viewers, it makes her hypnotized. miku did this and did become hypnotized, but teto only did it occasionally, and towards the end, teto stared more at the viewers and became hypnotized, which means she was forced to give in ‘cause it was too stressful to keep up. teto needed help because she couldnt do it herself, and needed support, but couldnt get support from miku because miku became hypnotized, so she was left alone which is what forced teto to give up.
the end, 11:10 is way more… less deep than *not* a circus.
miku was to suffer from her depression for so long, that she was forced to give in by herself right away.

I never thought hypnosis could be used as a way to deal with depression, its an intriguing concept. On the one hand your head can become more clear if the hypnosis is designed to suppress your dark thoughts, however sometimes it worse to hid and suppress your feelings rather then actually expressing them.
also at 8:30 for like 2 seconds you can see miku getting hypnotized early cause she dances faster and her facial expressions don't change when she does a pose also just before the countdown you can see teto look over at miku I love how many secrets this song has even tho it's so short
what i also realized is that when they are getting hipnotised (3:08) miku's head keeps moving with something (i'm guessing some kind of moving watch) and her eyes lose their shine, with teto in the other case the shine in her eyes very slowly get lost, and i mean VERY since its in some kind of timelapse, meaning teto has some kind of invulnerability or resistance to hypnosis as she can stand a few days like this
By the way the artist's name is Satsuki and it's abbreviated as 32ki because
• you pronounce 3 in Japanese as "San" (but you don't hear the N bit much when natives pronounce it, so it's similar enough to use in place of Sa)
