I remember hearing this fabulous piece for the first time on the Fantasia movie by Walt Disney. It made a definite impression when it was added to the visual storyline that it was mated to. It was wonderful to hear this composition played again! Your performance is the best that I have ever heard! Will Ortiz
Me, too, among those for whom this is linked eternally to Vladimir Tytla's animation of Chernabog, one of the most powerful couplings of music and image ever made. The piece has always sounded to me as though it wanted to be an organ work, and this performance completely fulfills that .... as far as it can go without those visuals....
The brightness & clarity of this instrument make Jonathan's powerful, edgy, & explosive performance second to none! The bold start quiets as delicate registrations embody the peaceful dawn. Bravo and wow!! 🌚🔔🔔🌞💐💐👏👏🎹🎶
That tiny figure almost lost in that huge concert hall but for the light illuminating the console and then the magnificent sound filling all that vast space , just wow 😊
This piece gets my heart racing, so much going on! You've played it beautifully Jonathan, and Tom, what can I say, your imagery is spot on, once again. Thanks for sharing. XX
An Excellent arrangement and Stunning performance of "Night On A Bald Mountain". Well done Jonathan ! Wonderful to hear this Rieger Instrument with its 5000 pipes and also the Impressive Acoustics of the Lotte Concert Hall ! Well chosen visuals by Tom !
Jonathan, your talent has no limit. Younger I was fascinated and scared by both this Fantasia cartoon and it's theme. This interpretation gave me the same emotion.
Ah the best of Mussorgsky, Disney and Leopold Stokowski and whatever orchestra that was - NBC Symphony orch? Don't remember. But the memories this conjurs - seeing the entire Fantasia film and hearing this music for the first time all those years ago.....might I add, BRILLIANTLY played by Jonathan Scott. Just brilliant reduction - if you can call it reduced!! Cheers.
Your mastery of the instrument is matched only by your transcriptions, Jonathan. This is truly brilliant, thank you so very much! And Tom's wonderful videography highlights the instrument and you at just the right moments. That is (as we say) one hell of an instrument! Well done!
Dorothy ("Wizard of Oz"): "Oh, hurry -- please hurry! The hourglass is almost empty!" [For those who don't grasp my reference, a snippet of this piece is used near the climax of this film.]
One of my favourite pieces now, but the absolute terror I felt as a kid at hearing the opening notes (thanks Disney) is not easily forgotten!! Couldn't listen to it for years...
Today the Singapore National Day celebration, let's share some nice virtual gifts of a kind, my very favorite ones, this is really.. taking breath away 😮😮😮
Dear Johnatan, listening to your interpretations and arrangements on concert organs I understand why orchestra players cannot help but be afraid of organs for fear of disfiguring themselves and losing their jobs!
Wow! Respect Mr. Scott. Grand Performance.
Last part must be one of the nicest organ arrangement I have ever heard
Jonathon is the finest organist in the world today, no doubt!
EXTRAORDINARIO MAESTRO!!
EXCELENTE INTERPRETACIÓN,TRANSCRIPCIÓN AL ÓRGANO E “INSTRUMENTACIÓN”

Fantasia was my first exposure to this piece too. I was maybe 7 or 8 years old. It made a great impression on me.

Brilliantly played Johnathan, you became an extension of this magnificent organ and made this superb piece your own!!

Simply magic. Oh, but the performance, both musically and visually, was anything but simple. Thanks, AGAIN, to you both!!
This piece is difficult to play. And the end of the song is beautiful and romantic. Congratulations organist! 🙌🎶❤️🙋🏻♀️

Magnificent playing and magnificent instrument!
This is the best version of this piece I have heard on RUclips. Such clarity and power. Thank you guy's. James.
Yet another stunning transcription from the incomparable Jonathan Scott! 🎉

OMG! Sensory overload! Somebody tell Ride of the Valkyries that there's a new sheriff in town!
Thanks for a good performance today.
Fantastic! Like a Disney's Fantasy!
The sound of that organ is incredible.
The beginning feels like the opening of hell and somehow it goes all the way around and ends with heavenly celestes!
Eletrizante!
One of my favourite pieces now, but the absolute terror I felt as a kid at hearing the opening notes (thanks Disney) is not easily forgotten!! Couldn't listen to it for years...
As ever wonderful; whilst enjoying lunch in eSwatini .!

Metal
Nice. I sometimes wonder if Mussorgsky was on drugs when he conceived this piece.
He was a alcoholic. But still a great composer. Check out "Pictures at an exhibition" for orchestra. Jonathon does it on organ too.
Remarkable.
What else can one say?
Probably a question that’s not asked much. But can I use some of your organ recordings as background music in some animated movies I’m working on?
