Charlie, as someone who has quietly enjoyed your content from afar including, your awesome writings I must commend you on this video. Life happens, people drift apart and it most often is a heartbreaking time. This could have easily been a negative finger pointing video, however you shared what's going on in your life with your followers in a very professional and inspiring way. Hats off to you sir! and perhaps one day we could grab a coffee and go walking in the beautiful Benjakitti Park.
I did not want to post anything about Bua and I breaking up. But I posted a short story about it on X and got a lot of nice comments similar to yours. People appreciate when story tellers are authentic about their own lives. So I made this video based off that X post. Thank you for a thoughtful comment. And I'd love to meet up with you. DM me at kerrinkris@gmail.com
@@TWCH as would I, sir. I seem to get to Thailand once or twice a year with or without my wife. I'll try to connect as well; you seem like a well-rounded, intelligent man.
Charlie, Thanks for sharing your relationship as both of you benefited from your time together. Of course pain will go away but your memories are all good. I've watched others showing their relationships in Asia and some guy are miserable even while still with their partner and you two didn't have that. I was on the phone with my brother that lives up in Chiang Mai after his break up with his honey of 3 years together, a knock at the door ended our phone call. A week later I got a call from brother and he said the knock at the door was his girlfriend's girlfriend and she now wanted to be his girlfriend it lasted about a week but Thailand is a great place to be as a man.
Bua Khao and I are connected by the kids. Her four children have made an effort to keep in touch with me. I am very pleased with that. So we are still in a relationship. It’s simply changed a bit. I am 74. While everything still works, romance and sex are not powerful motivators anymore. Relationships have changed for me.
I like you, Sir! And i like this peaceful and gentlemanly way of your reaction to you both having drifted apart! Takes a lot of a man to be so, much respect from me to you regarding this! There is a calmness about this video which was a pleasant 10 minutes of my day i feel well spent haha. Cheers to you and your endeavers!
You're a strong man brother. A gorgeous woman like that can make your head spin and do crazy things. You did really good. Should be proud of yourself 100 percent. Best of luck on your adventures. May you flourish in true happiness and well being.
Thanks Jeff, Bua and I have reconciled. So things have changed a little bit since I posted this. But all is well and I appreciate your positive comment.
Sorry to hear about your relationship Charlie. I understand and have experienced the feeling of recapturing your “self” . Keep on truckin and making your thought provoking content. You are by far my favorite creator here.
Very good video, Charlie. I think you portrayed Bua Khao in a very good light. The photos, video, music, and editing were all very touching. Sometimes in life, we have to make hard but necessary choices. I admire your courage to do what’s right and move on. Train video next.
I really enjoy your videos, Charlie. It's wonderful that you had such a beautiful experience with Bua, but as you know, nothing in life is permanent. You're doing the right thing by staying true to yourself and making the most of your time. Greetings from Phnom Penh, where I've been based since 2003! 😊
I met you on the street next to SM Aura in BGC a couple of months ago. Nice to meet you. Congratulations on experiencing love and caring as you did in Bangkok. You have a generous heart. I understand the in betweens of life. From my vantage point, you’re future looks very bright. Thank you for your vulnerability in this video. I get to know you as do others. I’m headed back to where my heart is, SE Asia.
This was surely a difficult video to compose and record. First you had to conclude a realisation in your mind, and then publicly voice it. I'm sorry for the breakup, yet, as always, I admire your courage.
Initially, I was not going to talk about this personal affair. But I'm glad I did. Viewers are responding with a lot of interest and compassion. It's nice. Thank you.
Charlie keep on keeping on man. Enjoy that ride . There are millions more when you want as you know. Hey how's the heat? They say people are dying literally over there
Thanks, yeah life is good:) Temperature is 98 to 100 instead of 92 to 94. Gives people something to gripe about. It will start raining soon. Then they'll be complaining about floods. For me it makes it a little easier to get my yoga room up to 104 degrees where I work out intensely for ninety minutes.
When I came to Asia, Singapore, 14 years ago, I was sixty and single. I had learned to enjoy my life without being attached to a woman, a lot. So here I am once again enjoying the freedom of an adventurous man on his own. It’s good! I am currently in a coffee shop ruminating about this very subject for a video I want to shoot later today. Stay tuned.
You never lose the Thai girl here you just miss a turn that all facts ,but deep down you must know why does a young Thai girl want an old man for ?? You already know this answer
One must recognize that even if one manages to keep their looks at age 70 or so, any woman would prefer a younger, more vital guy with shared life experience. Except...here in SE Asia, that May/December thing can actually work. But as with all relationships, it takes constant effort. SOme rltnshps take more, some less, but they still require attention.
Thanks and good luck. There's a little irony in your comment. RUclips has been promoting this old video, which is good. But my GF and I have since reconciled. The irony is I just completed a 4 video series about Isaan with Bua (GF) featured in them.

A refreshing change to hear about a Thai woman who is independent wealthy You just need to find a woman 20 years younger that still active and all her kids have grown up and left home
Don't forget the Bua Khao daughters: I am sure that you are still their stepfather, no matter what is the relationship. Even when grown up Thai stepdaugthers never run away....
There may come a time when I might want to buy into the game. Most men my age are weary and would love the attention of someone like Bua Khao. There’s a price for everything. I guess that’s part of my point here. Focused attention to diet, exercise and a capacity for high engagement in life allows me to enjoy a single life. Someone else may choose the fat and happy route. I am in the end game. Whatever works at this point is good.
I can't imagine what it's like to have a new relationship in my senior years as I've been married now for nearly 40 years, retired in the Philippines for 9 years. I know that finding another gal post-marriage would NOT be a problem--
@@TWCH yes, we still struggle at times and are unkind to each other through poor communication, but we still work at it. At this point it's not so much 'love' that keeps us together as much as loyalty...after a fashion.
Sorry about that, I hope you remain as positive as you come across. Don't get taken advantage of though. In that she has her own finanaces now, so I hope her family is out of the town house! Good luck fella.
Sorry mate, breakups are always hard but as people have pointed out, you're in Thailand and should just address your grief appropriately and then get back to really enjoying life. Hope I've got the energy you do when I'm your age.

Well I admire you for losing the weight that's great. You know they say she's never years is just your turn. You are getting older and I would think about getting a woman that you can depend on for the rest of your life. But I think it's easier said than done. You're really good shape like I said I admire you. I think you need to find some woman that you can depend on for when you get older that you can trust with your life. Like I said I think that's a very hard task. Very iffy
When men go to a new country, we should avoid being a sugar daddy (in any form) - the writing is on the wall. Do not dwell on this girl. Move on. If you move to Ph, avoid any relationship for 1st six months - do not 'adopt' a GF. Look for equal relationship.
I don't think you understand the concept? I'm not into chasing freelancers and married a Thai woman last year, but I still help her financially and gave her Mom a dowry. What is "equal"?
It still amazes me how many foreigners still don't understand who Thais are by history and actual culture . Your experiences are far different than reality . After years of disastrous relationships, men still are too proud to learn .
This relationship was not a disaster for either of us. I have lived in Thailand for 8 years, I speak Thai, and I am very familiar with the culture and history. WTF are you talking about?
You seem very vague on the event(s) leading up to your break-up. Buakaw was more of a capitalist than you gave her credit for and you seem emotionally detached from everything. The viewer is left wondering more than what was answered here ... did you find some Pinay honey, or did Buakaw prefer working out deals on her mobile to scratching your leg?
