    For anyone asking yes it will strip wax and sealant because it's an abrasive

    • @GReviewz

      Prestige Valeting and Detailing thank you for watching. I may or may not have said it was abrasive but thank you for pointing it out. I definitely would not use the wash plus every wash just before a full wax job.

  • @mark98070

    Looks like a good product to use 2-3 times a year or however many times you apply sealant.
    But not for use with regular washings in between applications of sealant.

    I've been detailing cars since I was 15. I'm 50 now and have never used a "strip wash"... I simply buffed or polished the paint to get it ready for wax or sealant. That's My way. There are no rules.

    • @GReviewz

      Thanks for your input. Meguiars doesn’t even sell this product anymore. I save a polish or buff for extreme cases of the paint has swirl marks etc. I like like to keep as much clearcoat on as possible.

    honestly, I found that if you use normal mitt pressure, it doesn't make a huge dent in your LSP. Considering how great it is as a soap, I think I'm going to just use it for every water wash going forward, instead of just my 6 month deep cleans.

    • @GReviewz
      @GReviewz  5 лет назад

      It is a great soap but I noticed that when I used it for example in my video it stripped my old wax/sealant off pretty well. I was using normal mit pressure and not pressing hard at all. Thanks for watching.

      GReviewz Obsessed Garage has an awesome video on it. First use dish soap to remove the wax, or g25024 something not PH neutral. Decon the surface. Use wax and tar remover, use Iron-X to remove contaminants, and Clay bar. Apply Collinite 845, let the wax cure and then apply Jescar Power Lock Plus. It’s a perfect combo. The Powerlock plus seals the wax and the wax protects the clear coat. If your really want a show car finish, apply Sonax Perfect Finish to make the car look better than new. You can also use Meguars D301 which I use for new cars. Sonax is a bit pricey ($80) but dam is it worth it.

    FYI... Longevity ratings for products has to do with UV protection not the longevity of hydrophobic effects.

    • @GReviewz
      @GReviewz  6 лет назад

      Ric Brown thank you for watching. I normally base the protection on the products hydrophobic property. If it’s not beading anymore I normally add another layer or strip it and add another product.

    Sooo, you have no clear coat left? Full detail, inc compound/correction?

    • @GReviewz
      @GReviewz  6 лет назад

      evythefish123 when I say a full detail I mean what “I do” I first wash the vehicle, then I remove all the old product. In this video I used the wash plus to remove old wax. Then I clay bar. Once the car is virtually clean and down to clear coat I then apply what ever wax/sealant I want to it. If there are paint imperfections then yes compound/correction is needed. If your paint is free from blemishes then compounding is not needed. Compounding actually removes a small amount of clear coat.

    • @evythefish21
      @evythefish21 6 лет назад +1

      @@GReviewz yup, exactly. I was just noting the compound stage can be touchy, esp. With softer Japanese paint. The clear coat is extremely thin. Check out Apex Detail and Dallas auto's channels. They are about the only 2 guys who are addressing removal of to much clear coat. I was told by a local detailer that you could compound as much as you want without clear coat failure, now he's actually having issues with the clear coat on his personal car. Anyway, have fun, keep up the videos and be well!

It will be the first time I apply a paint sealant to any of mt vehicles...so I cant really answer yes or no to wash plus removing the sealant. I do however feel it would remove the sealant since it does have a light polish in the wash plus.
