Ah man, this is so great! I sincerely adore this medley you've created. It just oozes charm, warmth, and nostalgia in every measure, and the arrangement is wonderfully creative. Seriously, the way you integrated multiple themes from different games across the series is nothing short of incredible, and the way you have these iconic melodies overlap, counter, respond, play play off each other, and every approach imaginable... well, it shows a tremendous amount of care, effort, and creative energy put into the arrangement. Everything is included in a meaningful way, and nothing feels arbitrary or out-of-place. And I don't want to take for granted that a good deal of transposing and reharmonizing were involved here. I love those alternate chord progressions, and the one beginning at 2:02, in Rosalina's Comet Observatory, hits just right. 😌 It looks like @Tyler Ferguson has already done a stellar job of hunting for Easter eggs, but I want to go ahead and guess at that last musical reference: Was it a quick riff of the Super Mario Bros. 2 overworld theme right at 1:51? If so, I have to attribute finding it to the hints in your replies. 😅 Seriously, this is such a wonderfully arranged medley, and the thoughtful instrumentation and lively percussive elements really bring everything together. Amazing work, NostalJack!! 🌟
Thanks! This is probably one of my favorite works I’ve done in terms of combining different tunes together. It’s something that I LOVE to do, so I’m glad this turned out! Also, yes you got it!! I know it’s perhaps a bit of a stretch to even really call it a reference lol because it’s sooooo hidden, but that was the intent! Good ear 👌🏼
@@NostalJackMusic Thanks for the detailed reply! I can tell you have a lot of fun integrating bits of other tracks into your arrangements - it shows in how great they always sound! And I'm thrilled to have guessed the reference! 😁 Thanks for the feedback on that!
Great remix, as always! I tried finding all the motifs. 0:00 File Select - Super Mario 64 0:20 Delfino Plaza - Super Mario Sunshine 0:40 Super Bell Hill - Super Mario 3D World 1:10 Rosalina's Observatory - Super Mario Galaxy 2:51 Ground Theme - Super Mario Brothers Couldn't find the last one.
Thanks! And wow, nicely done! The SMB ground theme I thought was slightly more hidden, so that’s a good find by you! Hint: the last one you’re missing is hidden in the bass line
I come from the winter megamix, I feel the need to say this is just amazing. I didn't expect to hear that little nod to SM3DW. Thank you so much, you're one of (if not) the best throughout the last megamixes (your paper mario color splash last year was great)
Ditto to Tyler's comment, I found them on my own but realized he beat me to it :/ also listened to the entire song again focusing on the bassline and did not catch the last one
Yeah it’s really tough, not the kind of thing I would expect listeners to pick up on. Extra hint: it’s in the bass line during Rosalina’s observatory theme… still would be pretty impressed if you’re able to place it!
@@NostalJackMusic I was thinking that might be where it is, but even after knowing where it is and listening to it, i still wouldnt be able to point it. Is it the melody of a different song, or is basically a lifted baseline from a different song played under rosalinas theme?
OMG this piece is making me cry. 🤎💜💙 I've been on this nostalgia binge and this is hitting the feels.
Loving this! Super chill vibes! ~~~

Wow, thank you!! That means a lot, I really appreciate it 🙏🏼 glad you enjoyed and hopefully I’ll see you around the comments! :)
This is great! So chill, I love how you've weaved these themes together
Thank you! It was a lot of fun giving them the medley/mash-up treatment! :)

Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow in the Megamix
