- This is a timelapsed demonstration on how to create an abstract painting on gallery stretched canvas using acrylics, a catalyst wedge and a free style flat brush.
Adjust the settings on the video to watch a slower version and to gain a better understanding of my technique.
Tools:
Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint
Free style flat brush (medium)
Silicone catalyst wedge (W-06)
Colours Used:
Primary Yellow
Prussian Blue Hue
Olive Green
Quincidrone Magenta
Titanium White

Wow. Amazing to watch you work. I’ve never tried doing an abstract without some kind of reference. How do you do that? I’m trying to get into your head as I watch you work. What do you think about when you do that? Do you think about layers? Do you think about composition? Do you think about making interesting marks? Do you think about depth? Do you think about contrast? Do you think about kinesthetic movement? Or do you just do it naturally and intuitively? It’s a beautiful piece (the painting AS WELL AS the video). I just watched it twice. Once to learn. Once for the joy.

I usually see a painting I like and I think, "I can do that... or I can learn to do that." After contemplating it for weeks and trying a new style, I end up with nothing. No painting. No beauty in my house. (Well, I end up with lots of paintings in my house, but they are not exactly what I thought was going to create.) So, I'm totally with you on this one, Jane. I may have to buy a painting from this ballerina painter.

Wonderful technique, I hope you become very successful. Can you please tell me what kind of white paint you’re using? It seems to be an important element. Is it Golden Fluid as well? Or can you use others that will give you the same pigment to flow ratio?

Its such a spectacular abstract art with soo many depths😍😍😍 i want to ask you how much time does it take to make such a painting , like how much time do you leave for the layers to dry in between before adding new layer..?
Thank you! It depends on the size but anywhere from 3-8 hours. Not all the layers are dry in between on the last few layers are dry :)
