  • When I made this video I didn't realise the furore that it would cause in the popular press. Needless to say it only ever got on screening on Top of the pops and was never seen again on British television in it's entirety. This is the full version (the record company would only pay for two minutes as they thought that the song wouldn't do that well)! Enjoy.

    when this track first came out, the UK clubs went nuts. You could hear someone shout down the road on a given day 'ACIEEED' - great time!

    Holy shitballs man, not heard this is years! It was the first rave tune that got me addicted to alternate music!
    I was totally hooked, 1989 I'm 14 this is fucking amazing, then breakbeat/ jungle/Dnb/hardcore/techno/ happy hardcore! Those years were absolutely amazing to live with❤️
    They said rave would die lol, it's lived over 30 years and has evolved into probally over 250 sub genres!

      Bro the things I would give to be on the 80s is immense, I'm so jealous about my parents and other people telling stories about what they got up to in school and there's me who the most "rebellious" things I've done is skive and throw a stink bomb at the front of the bus... They seemed like THE best times to live (ik about racism and Margret Thatcher in the UK but I mean like the best years to get away with stuff and music and people too... And I'm 15 and aaaaa everyone agrees that they'd prefer to be in the 80s than now in my friend group too

    Was at a local beach two or three years ago with my Cousin and his wee 4 year old daughter. Got bored and wrote "Acieed" on the sand. The littleun quized what it was. So after she heard how it was said.....she rushes up to her mother shouting (in her own way) Aciiied! Oh the innocence of youth, bless.

    I remember seeing this on some late-night local-TV-station music video show when I was 15 or 16. Growing up in rural Maine in the '80s, I had _zero_ cultural context for it, and the program just dropped it in between two regular pop songs without comment. I can still remember that feeling of _absolute mystification._ I knew I had just witnessed _something,_ but I had no idea what the hell it was. :)

    That very rare thing a tune from the heart of a scene (in this case London Acid House 1988)! made by those on that scene when it was still (pretty) underground which became a top 10 pop hit too.. There can't be many people in England today over 45 and below about 60 who don't remember the Acieed chant.

  • @Outcastchannel

    I was only 9 years old when the much older guys in my neighborhood (which i used to hang out with because they were doing much cooler stuff than those of my own age) passed me almost weekly cassette tapes with recordings of the newest club sounds and dance tracks and this one on the first tape i got. I was hooked. I put the tape in my walkman, headphones on my head and played it over and over again, wherever i went. It was my entry in the electronic dance music as they summarize it all nowadays, and from here i went to the less mainstreamy acid and as time passed to harder styles with still the love of my life Hardcore Gabber as favorite. The aciiieeed sample survived all times and is still used in all genres, even the hard and fast uptempo hardcore genre.
    This track is a milestone in music history and still is great to play loud as f*ck every now and then to remember old times, no matter how young i was.

  • @mattfinn
    @mattfinn 16 лет назад

    I used to have their album, a little bit if this and a little of that on tape but it fell victim to a hungry tapedeck!
    The signs were there from an early age, I was listening to this kinda stuff, Coldcut, Bomb the Bass etc and my mates were listening to all sorts of sh1t!
    Top tunes. Top memories!

    Top tune and not a TB303 insight. This song got banned from the BBC/Government, but they don't want you to think do they.

    4 black micro dots in 1 hit back then, whhoooo what a fucked up trip. even distorted my hearing,(the ringing from the prodigys "claustrophobic sting"reminds me of the hearing distortion i experienced) started to panic and left the bedsit i was in with around 10-15 other liked minded people. kept looking behind me where i see this lad that was in the room following me about 50 feet behind, i stopped he would stop, i move again and so does he, after about half a mile i eventually lose it, run up to him and shout "WHAT THE FUCK YOU FOLLOWING ME FOR MATE"!! and he replies, sorry mate you got my coat on". I take his coat off and give it to him and carried on with the truly fucked up 4 mile walk back to mine.

      LOL,can be crazy hey. For me every trip was different in its intensity. Remember also my first ever mushroom trip. was drinking mushroom tea and thought.."this is shit" and started eating sludgy mushrooms straight out of the tea pot. i nearly went colour mad when i popped to the happy shopper shop 45 minutes later :)
